EVEN BETTER THAN WE REMEMBERED!!!

It’s been a while since we last visited AUA, but the Surf Club is still a GREAT family place :))) Thisntime my daughter and I went off-roading !!! Sunset dinners/walks on the beach were incredible…think I should book our next visit now!!!

Great Stay in Aruba Marriott Surf Club

We stayed at Aruba Marriott 4/11/14-4/18/14 and had a great time! The property is great and my son especially liked the lazy river. My experience with Sue was also very good and she was available to answer any questions and was very accommodating. Highly recommended!

Marriott Surf Club is a beautiful and well maintained property. The pool area is probably the best in Aruba with lazy river, adult pool, kid splash area and two other large pools. Beach is nice; we loved our walks every morning. Good places to eat at walking distance. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit and were very pleased with the space and comfort. Owner was wonderful with the rental transaction. We hope to go back! 

Highly recommend!

This is a great location because it is on the “boardwalk” where you can walk to a variety of restaurants, some stores, and other hotels. The water is very calm on this side of the island, and perfectly blue and clear. This property was great for our family of 6, with a washer/dryer, full kitchen, two bedrooms, living area, etc. It’s probably the best of the Marriott properties for families, since it has a water slide and lazy river, along with the room’s amenities. Although the reviews say that technically you can’t use the Marriott hotel pool, you can. We had friends staying there so we bounced back between that pool/beach and ours, and you’re able to use your room number for charged at all three properties. The room was super clean and the gym was great, highly recommend. We’d stay here again.

Home away from home

We had a fantastic stay at the Marriott. Although we didn't have ocean view, the garden and pool views were equally stunning – there's nothing like gazing at a sea of palm trees. The room was perfect, complete with a full kitchen and smallwares, and it was very clean. The only downside was the chair reservation policy, which isn't as simple as just claiming a chair and leaving. However, the sunsets were amazing, and while the water by the hotel was a bit muddled, Arashi Beach is just a 7-minute drive away, offering clear, crisp water and great snorkeling.

Fabulous Time

What can I say except awesome. Sho did a fantastic job keeping us in the loop prior to our arrival. The location was wonderful. The resort was beautiful and so well kept. The staff is fabulous and helped with anything we needed. Room was great. We had a two bedroom and it was very roomy for 6 of us. Having the laundry was great. Overall great trip, great location, smooth transaction. Highly recommend renting from Sho.

Misrepresentation

The property was advertised as 2 bed 2 bath. In the end, they had to swap us out for two one bed for the first night and moved us to the two bed two bath for the last 2 nights because the 2bed 2 bath was not available for all 3 nights despite our confirmed reservation. Communication with the host was horrible until the week prior to arrival. The host apparently was on vacation and had no one covering in her absence. Reading online reviews for this property, this isnt the first time the unit was not available as advertised.

Inaccurate Description

I booked the room with the illusion that I had two rooms. At check in I was told I had one and a pull out. On the last day of my stay I was told that I had access to an adjoining room. Was not able to use that room for 6 days because I was not told so. I wasted a lot of money because Marriott has a horrible customer service. They are more concerned on people wearing masks than giving people the correct accommodations. Basically I overpaid by about 30-40% because of not being able to use the room I paid for.

Loved Aruba and the Marriott Surf Club

We loved Aruba! The condo was awesome! We checked with them early in the day, as we were there already, and asked if it would be possible to have an ocean view. They ended up giving us a wonderful room on the 8th floor with a great view of the ocean from the balcony. The condo was HUGE... I am not sure if it was because ours was an end unit, but the condo was huge! We loved the Surf Club and the amenities, the Lazy River was great! The property was beautiful and well maintained and the beach was beautiful. One of the best things about the resort is the location! We did not rent a car and were able to walk to great restaurants (i.e. Salt and Pepper, Bugaloe (on the pier), and Smokey Joe's Island Grill, and MooMba Beach Bar and Restaurant for music). When we ventured further from the resort to climb Hooiberg and go to Oranjestad we grabbed a cab out front. The weather was perfect and the scenery beautiful! Sho was great to work with and provided our Marriott reservation information very quickly. I would highly recommend renting an Aruba condo from Sho!

Nice vacation stay

I was concerned upon arrival because the manager had told me AFTER I booked that I would have to stay the last night in another room and I was not looking forward to that. However, the hotel did not give me a problem. Not sure who ended up fixing the issue but the point is that it was fixed. The stay was great and the apartment super comfortable and clean with great service. Thank you Susan!

Great vacation

The hotel and room were as advertised. Plenty of room for the adults but also the kids. Staff was very friendly and the owner responds in a very timely manner. Will definitely go back to Aruba.

Perfectly advertised

The location was as advertised. The only con was that housekeeping was not being utilized as a result of Covid. However, the resort was always quick to bring towels or any other needs. Would book again through this listing. Overall a great stay.

Heavenly Spring Break

Condo and property were perfect for family of five. No real restaurants on property..but many close by. Condo was a great size with all the amenities...building very covid safe and there is testing available at property. Would recommend this place to others.

Great stay in Aruba

Property was as advertised as far as location and layout. It was clean and had an excellent beach area and pools. Not much happening due to COVID restrictions, but still a place where we would stay again. Also, property management contact was excellent and really worked with us on some last minute changes to the reservation.

A Perfect Week at the Surf Club

Property is super organized, security everywhere, social distancing in place, dots on floor, arrows, hand sanitizing stations and hand washing stations are everywhere. Every employee had a mask on 100%. Very clean, ocean and pools were amazing. Could not have been happier. Very safe and clean.

Best vacation ever!

Aruba is our favorite place in the world! This was our first time staying at the Marriott Surf Club and it was fantastic! Very clean and spacious rooms and the view is paradise!

The Marriott Property was very nice. Location and facility were top notch. The VRBO was not great.

The VBRO experience left a LOT to be desired. We had issues with our reservation upon arriving. The first 3 nights were finally straightened out but when we had to change from the 3 bedroom unit to the 2 bedroom unit no help what so ever. We were given a room for our last night in paradise that overlooked a TIN ROOF and a Parking Lot. Disappointed YES. And we paid TOP DOLLAR.

Our unit and the property was awesome! It met our expectations for a wonderful vacation. No issues, what so ever, with the check in process or departure. I liked the no cash policy allowing you to leave money behind while at the pool or beach. Your bill was ready the day of departure. Getting a 'prime' spot for a chair near specific areas of the pool was the only inconvenience. To secure a chair, be at he pool at 7AM and there are plenty of spots to choose from. I would stay here again without question.
