Beautiful foliage in the fall and the beaches with a rocky coastline is unique and beautiful to see. The cottage was comfortable and well stocked. Owners were great with anything we asked and it was an enjoyable location with being near Newport and its activities.

We had a very nice stay at the cottage. It was very clean and well laid out. We used the back deck for grilling and eating outside. The cottage is in a very quiet area with lots of greenery, yet just a short ride to Newport. We would stay here again when in the area.

Great cottage!

This property is close to everything but it's also an escape from downtown Newport at the end of the evening. It's a perfect mix of accessible but secluded. All information posted about the property was accurate and the owners were incredibly nice and accommodating. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Perfect Rhode Island Cottage

We loved our stay! It was the perfect home base for our group (me, my husband, our daughter, and my mom). Super cute house that had everything we needed. The area was beautiful too. The hosts were great at communicating. Would totally recommend this property and will definitely stay here if we are ever back in the Newport area!

Parent’s Weekend Dream

Our son is a student at Salve Regina University and Parent’s Weekend is always a time when hotels are overpriced and overbooked. The Cottage was perfect! It is reasonably priced, homey and the perfect distance from Salve. It had every comfort we could have asked for. We will absolutely stay here again!

Perfect place!

The cottage was clean, beautiful, and cozy! All amenities were included. Loved the decor. The toilet paper was even folded over in the shape of a boat 🙂 The owner was wonderful as well. Got to chat with her for a few minutes and she was so nice!

Beautiful, comfortable and peaceful!

We loved staying at the cottage. It was so well appointed, comfortable, very clean and peaceful. The cottage is a couple of miles from downtown Newport but located in the beautiful countryside. It is very close to the beaches and downtown activities. Kate was a gem, and responded to all questions quickly and thoroughly. We highly recommend this place.

Beautiful cottage apartment

The accommodations were great! The cottage/apartment was very clean and had all the amenities one could need. The location was fantastic, I loved the quiet. You could see the water in the distance. One day returning to the property a large praying mantis greeted us at the front door.

Idyllic Stay in Beautiful RI

We just returned from an amazing week at this beautiful property. It was a perfect base for us to return to each day after seeing family and the sights while also giving my family of 4 space to relax. The cottage is stocked with everything you could need, I think the kitchen may be better equipped than mine at home. We had a fabulous time and I’m already missing the thought of my morning coffee on the back porch smelling the hydrangeas in the cool air. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

Relaxing Getaway

We loved staying at this property. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. When the grill would not work for us, they immediately brought out their own super size grill for us to use. It was very gracious.We suggest that a photo of the stairs going up to the living area be shown, as some guests may find stairs a challenge to go up. We really enjoyed the home. It was perfect. Thank you.

Comfortable, cozy getaway

This is a great house near Newport and with amazing access to everything Middletown has to offer. We had a great stay and enjoyed the cleanliness, comfort and property. The only downside was that the outdoor shower was connected to another house on the property and not to this property. We would, and plan to, stay again in the future.

Wonderful Wedding Weekend

My husband and I met up with friends from far away for a wedding at Glen Manor. The Cottage was a wonderful place to came "home" when we needed a place to relax and recharge from all that the wedding weekend involved. If we ever make our way back to Rhode island, we will definitely be checking if The Cottage is available!

Refreshing stay in a beautiful private cottage with all you need

We and Kate have a wonderful cottage. Their hospitality and service were well above expectations. Their cottage was well equipped with anything we may have needed and they were a quick get away from anything else we inquired about. The property was beautifully taken care of and was a nice oasis to return to. We never wanted to leave but VT was calling us back. Would look forward to returning anytime!

this is a beautiful home, top of the line appliances and is kept immaculately. It is eactly as the photos depict, beautifully decorated. It's in a great neighborhood with beaches nearby. We were expecting it to be a bit of a drive to Newport wehre we were attending wedding festivities all weekend and were surpised most places in Newport were within 15 minutes.Looking forward to coming back during summer months

What a lovely cottage! Lovingly furnished and very private. Beautiful garden and wonderful views. Pride of ownership shows in every detail. Comfy beds and furniture. Immaculately clean and not an inch of wasted space. This kitchen is stocked with EVERYTHING you need and more! The best part of this cottage are the owners-the lovely Kate and Ed. Recommended without hesitation!

We have rented a few cottages in the Mass/RI area in the last years and this one was by far our best overall experience. It was perfect for our family of 3 - (and for 4 it's still very spacious). Well located: in a quiet neighborhood (huge land!) and a short distance to awsome beaches, Newport, and from a walking distance to Sweet Berry Farms and a playground. The cottage is very clean, well equipped/maintained and the fire pit was much appreciated. It's hard to resume in a short review, but the pictures say it all and we completely agree with other reviews. A final note: the owners, Kate and Ed, are so lovely people! It was our first experience having the owners on the property and it was a BIG PLUS for us: they are so thoughtful, gave lots of local tips and our daughter found a good friend in Kate!

Wonderful cottage!

What a lovely location and cottage! Well appointed and very clean. We enjoyed the quiet location and it was an easy drive to all Newport has to offer. Highly recommend!

I am a Rhode Island native, I was born in Barrington, RI. When I was a child, I spent my Summers in Middletown and Newport. I loved it so much, I purchased a home there after raising my sons in Naperville, IL. My husband, Ed Shanchas, and I love the beach, seafood, and making lasting friendships. We love the beauty and tranquility of Middletown and enjoy entertaining and sharing the love of our community with others. We also love meeting our guests and have made some treasured friendships from our experiences of hosting over the years. Our twin sons live in Austin TX, we cherish our time with them. Traveling for vacation, exploring the world, and experiencing other cultures are some of our favorites experiences. I received my B.S. in Business at The University of Rhode Island. I am proud to be involved in the URI Women's Leadership Organization. Ed and I run a Real Estate Business in Florida and Rhode Island. . Together, we created Keys to Ease Concierge Realtors. We are full-service luxury real estate professionals, serving Aquidneck Island, the East Bay area, & Sarasota, FL. We love helping people achieve their lifestyle dreams.

If you want a beautiful, well-designed place to relax and spend your vacation with all the comforts of home, this is the spot! We designed the cottage as we would live there. We have lots of fun amenities on the property. such as, a firepit, outdoor shower, large yard, volleyball, corn toss, and a golf course down the road. You can enjoy your morning coffee on the deck or cocktail while taking in the beautiful water views. This property spoke to me because of the view, large landscape, and tranquility it offers- it's my sanctuary, and I love sharing it.

You have a lovely view of the water from the back of the cottage. It is wonderful to sit on the deck grilling, dining, and watching the water. The grounds are immaculate, and the neighborhood is quiet. You are close enough to Downtown Newport to experience the nightlife, and the tourist attractions are only two miles away. Beautiful walking paths at the Bird Sanctuary, which is less than one mile away. The beaches are one mile away as well, and while Summer is wonderful, Autumn is also a beautiful time in Newport.
