This cottage was perfect for my family’s 5 night stay. Very clean, great location and outdoor space, plus an easy walk to the beach. Cottage was well stocked with everything we could possibly need and we especially loved having the beach cart and chairs to take to the beach. Lauralee provided lots of helpful info, great recommendations, and we didn’t have any problems at all during our stay. We had a great vacation and would definitely stay here again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Oasis! We haven’t traveled as a family in several years and this spot perfectly fit the bill. The amenities were excellent and the location can’t be beat. Short walk to the beach and all of the KDH/OBX attractions (restaurants, shopping, etc.) are just a short drive away. Oh, and our adult children really enjoyed the “kiddie” pool (big enough for 6 adults to hang out in) and hot tub in the backyard. And the beach chairs, wagon and tent in the storage shed were very useful for the beach. We had a blast and would definitely consider coming back in the future. You won’t be disappointed!

We had a wonderful stay in this cozy cottage. Each bedroom had comfortable beds and beautiful decor. Plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves. The kitchen has all the cooking items you may need. The cottage is just a short walk to the beach, and you can also relax in the hot tub out back. There is a Target within walking distance as well if you forget anything. Everything about this place is perfect. We would definitely stay here again. We were lucky to have found it!

Oasis away from home

This was our first trip to the Outer Banks. It did not disappoint. The Blue Oasis was a home away from home with everything we could possibly need. The walk to the beach was easy and also a short walk to many great restaurants and attractions. It was the perfect way to spend our Independence Day.

My family and I spent a week at the property and had a great time! The kiddie pool was a huge hit for my grandson! The house was located close to so many things, Target, WaWa, Awful Arthur’s! Short walk to the beach and great amenities! Would definitely stay here again! Also, I forgot a load of laundry in the dryer, the owners are sending my clothes bag via the mail. Great customer service and a great property!

Our stay at Blue Oasis was all we expected with excellent accommodations, a well maintained home, and a wealth of amenities to make our stay a 5-star experience.

Our family has stayed at Blue Oasis two years ago and we were delighted to be able to return in June 2025. With the location close to the beach and so many community activities and facilities nearby, it was the best place to spend our vacation week. In addition to the delightful children's pool, the newly added hot tub was a great addition. The enclosed back yard was well maintained with actual grass and was a wonderful play space for the grandchildren and all of us. The fire pit, hammock, and the shed of beach toys were wonderful to have available. The interior rooms were all comfortable and and just right for our beach vacation experience. We hope to return again next summer. The grandkids are already planning for it!

A very special oasis

I visited with my husband, two children (7 and 10), and parents, who are both above 70. We had a blast and felt like we were at a home away from home in a vacation spot! Our children hung out in the hot tub every day, and sometimes, twice a day! The back yard is charming, with a hammock, swing, fire pit and patio. Laurelee was an exceptional host. She gave us detailed instructions on operating the hottub, which was very helpful. We also got some great restaurant recommendations. She stayed in touch and responed immediately if we had any questions. You can’t beat the location. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach. Our children had great fun flying kites and we watched the sun rise. Blue Oasis is truly a treasure!

OBX Vacation

Blue Oasis was as advertised - a clean and cute house close to the beach and other activities. We enjoyed our brief stay in the OBX area. Often proximity to beaches bring noise yet this neighborhood was great. Thankful to Lauralee for making this a relaxing and activity-filled stay for us.

Perfect vacation

The walk to the beach was quick 3 to 5 min walk, there's stores and restaurants to walk to close by. The pier was so cool and you can walk right to that also. I will try to stay here again plenty of room. Bigger in person in the pictures

Family Friendly

We booked this at the last minute and we were so glad we did. The house is well cared for and cozy. We really felt at home. The bottom floor is the original 2-bedroom house with an addition upstairs that allows for an extra queen bedroom, separate bunk room and living area with a walk in shower. Our kids loved having their own “area” of the house. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, even syrup and spices. Overall the house was very clean. The backyard has a fire pit, hammock, couch, tiny pool for the kids, and a hot tub! My kids were obsessed with the hot tub. It was also stocked with a beach cart and nice Tommy Bahama chairs, tents, umbrellas and toys for the beach. It was so nice not to have to pack any of that stuff into the car. The location is ideal- only a quick 3 block walk to the 5th street ocean beach access. The beach access was a ramp- no steps. (There is room for 5 cars to park, but we never needed to because the walk was quick.) The house is just off the main road, so a little bit noisy at times, but it was worth not having to cross that road to get to the beach. There is also a new Target (with a Starbucks) 2 blocks away. The grocery store is also right across from the target. Lauralee was very kind and accessible if we needed anything. It was clear how much energy she has invested in making sure we enjoyed our stay and at the same time took good care of the house. We recommend The Blue Oasis for your escape to the beach!

Blue Oasis

Good location, near everything including a nearby stop light to get across traffic and a short walk to beach. The kids (even the big ones) enjoyed the little pool and the hot tub was great after a long drive and the treks across the dunes. Perfect size for our group and the beach toys and amenities provided were an added bonus. The hostess was very helpful and provided alot of local information and detailed instructions making checkin/checkout and everything in between an easy process.

Charming place that truly has it all!!!

This home has the perfect location (just a block from the beach!!). The owners think of it all: charming and comfortable back yard with a fenced in (larger than you think) cowboy pool, hammock, picnic table, hottub, flat top grill, and comfy couch. The yard is private and the neighbors are quiet! The house includes the BEST beach cart, tent, chair, boogie boards and more! This alone is worth the rental! The house is immaculately kept, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are larger than you expect AND their are games, puzzles, etc. the kitchen in has every gadget you could want (ninja blender, pancake griddle, waffle maker, rice cooker , wok, cookie cutters, every pan you could want and even an apron!!! The upstairs rooms have their own living room, HUGE bathroom. We put our kids upstairs and let them watch TV when they woke up. The rest of the house was SO quiet, we actually got to sleep in on vacation!!!! We 100% will be back. The owners are the kindest people who truly go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Don't hesitate, just don't take our week! Also, make sure to go to alligator refuge. It is a 35 min drive, but we saw 16 bears CLOSE over a two day period (only 2 hours combined). Is a future must see for us!!

Wonderful rental with amazing backyard!

This rental was perfect for our girls getaway, the Hardings have put so much time and thought into providing a home away from home. The layout of the house is perfect and is much more spacious than the pictures show. I loved the cozy backyard, the decor, very quiet area, and of course the beach. Can't wait to go back 🌴🌺

Wonderful oasis!

The Blue Oasis surpassed our expectations. The upstairs area was a perfect getaway for our teens to have their own space. Every attention to detail was noticed- from the well stocked kitchen to the amazing bath products and everything in between. It truly was a home away from home for the week.

Great experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The house was clean and in a great location- close to the beach and the activities in Kill Devils, but also central to all the other outer banks towns we wanted to visit. Although there were just two of us on this trip, we commented several times that this house would be perfect for multiple families traveling together. The owner is very thoughtful in her communication and in the amenities provided in the house. The backyard was also really nice. It was too cold for us to enjoy the pool, but we did nap in the hammock and build a fire in the pit. We would definitely stay here again.

Another great year at the blue oasis!

We have spent several weeks over the past several years staying at the blue oasis, and every year, it keeps getting better! Thank you Lauralee for your thoughtful hospitality and for continuing to upgrade your lovely home away from home. The kids love spending time in the outdoor cowboy pool, and the upgrades to the backyard space provide plenty of room to relax, both inside and out. All of the provided amenities are super helpful while staying in the house, and traveling to and from the beach. Staying here makes packing so much easier! We are looking forward to another visit next year!

We are entrepreneurs from northern Virginia, who have businesses in real estate investing, home building , HVAC contracting, and short term vacation rentals. We also homeschool our children and enjoy traveling and spending lots of time outdoors.

We purchased this home only partially finished in 2012, renovated it, and opened it to guests in 2013. We love this home because of its close proximity to the beach, its location on a quiet street, in a safe, family-friendly neighborhood with nearby residential cops keeping an eye out for the community's safety and well-being. We have been bringing our family here for multiple yearly trips since our children were born. They have grown up making memories in this house, and it is really important to us to help other families make special memories here as well. We have all fallen head over heels for the Outer Banks area. One reason we chose this house was because of the location to all the OBX has to offer. We are not only within walking distance to the beach but also close to shopping, many restaurants, and popular sightseeing destinations. It is in a quiet neighborhood where we feel safe and secure with our family. Having this home has given us a unique opportunity to practice hospitality and have a wonderful, cozy, smoke-free vacation getaway for our family and friends, year after year.

This cozy cottage is unique because it is on the ground level with no step access. The downstairs sleeps 4 and is completely equipped with everything you need with no stairs required. We offer a really awesome, fenced-in, spacious backyard entertainment space, complete with a BRAND NEW hot tub, an outdoor sectional sofa, a NEW Blackstone Culinary Griddle, picnic table, above-ground, fenced-in children's pool (9' in diameter and 28" tall at water line), fire pit, hammock, swing, clothesline, a shed with yard and beach equipment, and an outdoor shower stall.
**PLEASE NOTE: Smokers are not allowed either inside or outside the property due to severe allergies of owners and frequent visitors. Non-smoking guests only at this property. Thank you!
