The Living Area:
The main living area is the showcase of the property—a large, central space that is inviting, and well furnished. For quiet mornings and cozy evenings, a roomy, laid back Blu Dot sofa and camp-inspired leather lounge chairs flank the wood-burning fireplace. Guests can pick from a wide array of books and records, and help themselves to a nightcap with proper bar tools and glassware. Music sounds punchy and articulate on the wireless multi-room Audio Pro speakers—easy to connect to via Airplay, Chromecast and Spotify Connect. A 55” Samsung Serif television designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec (with Airplay) sits off in the corner unobtrusively, and Italian Wool heritage throws are in steady supply for movie nights.

At the opposite end, a large, accommodating mid-century inspired EQ3 dining table is illuminated by a Paolo Rizzato swing arm lamp—creating an inviting moment that is great for daytime board games and night time dining with friends. Overhead, two George Nelson Bubble Pendants, from Herman Miller, provide a warm glow, and an overstuffed, low slung corner lounge chair invites you to snuggle up with a good book.

The Kitchen:
The French chalet inspired kitchen feels open, welcoming, and highly functional. Modern, white oak cabinetry conceals up-to-date appliances, and plenty of high-quality ceramic dinnerware & stainless steel cookware. Mixed materials, both high and low, keeps things casual; Fireclay natural brick tile, solid walnut countertops, a sturdy quartz-top island, porcelain sink, and a timeless hand-made antique brass faucet. Many of the conveniences of home are also found, such as a stainless steel Nespresso Creatista Pro with integrated steam wand, a powerful Vitamix blender, and a high-power Bosch concealed hood —ideal for a proper morning latte, smoothie, or holiday meal.

The Primary Bedroom & Bath:
The main bedroom feels like a quiet retreat from the bigger, more impactful moments of the home. A king size bed, made of sustainably sourced hardwood, features a premium Tempur-Pedic cloud topper, plush, high-quality linens, your choice of feather or hypo-allergenic pillows, and an overstuffed duvet. Sturdy walnut nightstands with dimmable lamps, an Audio Pro multiroom speaker, bedside power & usb-c outlets, a cozy reading nook, suspended clothing rack, and a rugged luggage bench round out the experience.

The woodsy primary bathroom has all of the essentials and more; new wall to wall white oak paneling, concealed plumbing, antique brass hardware, solid-stone floating sink, earthy hunter green Fireclay tiled shower (with excellent pressure), flush mount dimmable vanity lights by RBW, 100% organic Turkish cotton towels by Rejuvenation, and premium toiletries by Aesop & Public Goods.

The Loft & Upstairs Bath:
The upstairs loft has the youthful feeling of a clubhouse hideaway. Premium low-pile wool carpeting feels great when the shoes come off. The queen sized bed—also dressed in fine linens and pillows—is built on a solid platform low to the ground, with a Samsung Freestyle smart projector overhead—making it easy to enjoy a favorite movie or show in bed.

A corner lounge chair by Palermo House is a great spot for an afternoon nap and the built-in dedicated workspace with plenty of accessible power and sunny views provides all the space needed to ponder, write or answer emails. A wide variety of books, games and art line the walls—plus another dedicated speaker. For those inclined to find another quiet corner for reflection, reading or napping—a handmade birch ladder leads to a cozy top nook lined with an Australian sheepskin rug and pillows. The views up there are not so bad either.

The upstairs half-bath is simple, but well constructed. White wood paneled walls, dimmable lighting, brass hardware, concealed plumbing and a hardwood bench with plenty of hooks.

The Exterior & Entry:
The exterior is a natural extension of the home’s interior—allowing guests to seamlessly transition from space to space, indoor and out. The front deck is a great space for lounging on the outdoor sofa over morning coffee, or winding down for the day; decorative lighting, a large retractable patio umbrella, and Hay lounge chairs keeps things breezy. A large outdoor dining table can comfortably accommodate more than a few friends, and portable lamps are available in case supper goes past sundown.

At the rear of the house is another lounge area; a camp circle formation complete with a concrete gas fire pit, Ferm Living desert lounge chairs, and several Fat Boy Bolleke hanging LED globe lamps that help set the perfect stage for cool evenings spent outside with friends. To make things even more useful—we added an outdoor charcoal grill with a dark, retractable screen that enhances privacy. The 10x10 office “workshop” serves as a multifunctional mini studio for work, arts and crafts, and has plenty of power outlets, dimmable lighting, comfortable “schoolhouse” seating, and its own AudioPro bluetooth speaker.

At the entryway, a simple bench, coat hooks and space for shoe storage keeps things tidy. An energy efficient LG laundry stack is available to help clean up after long days hiking or swimming at the lake.

The Surrounding Area:
The cabin is in the private community of Pine Mountain Lake—1 mile Northeast of the historic town of Groveland and 26 miles from Yosemite’s west entrance. Yosemite set the precedent for all future American national parks—being the country’s first land grant dedicated to recreation and enjoyment by President Lincoln in 1864. The famous Yosemite Valley is a 7 mile wide canyon with incredible rock formations, including El Capitan, the world's tallest granite monolith and one of the world's top rock climbing destinations. Yosemite Falls is the largest waterfall in North America with breathtaking views and the park is also known for its Giant Sequoia trees, which are estimated to be over 3,000 years old.

Groveland is an active community, with its best-known landmark being the Iron Door Saloon—considered California’s oldest continuously operating saloon. The Iron Door has a historic atmosphere and live weekend music. The Groveland Yosemite Gateway Museum, perfect for kids, looks at the area’s natural and cultural history, with exhibits on the Gold Rush and the indigenous Me-Wuk people.

For a local breakfast, Mountain Sage Nursery has house-made baked goods and organic coffees in a beautiful garden setting. On display is the beautiful Sierra landscape photography of Robb Hirsch and morning yoga class or art workshops are often available. The seasonal Tangled Hearts Bakery & Cafe is a popular breakfast spot known for its breakfast burritos, as well as apple pies, and if you’re hitting the trail , Kevin and Randi’s Old-Fashioned Meat Market has great classic subs.

Fifteen miles east of town is the Rainbow Pool, a natural swimming hole fed by a small waterfall in the Stanislaus National Forest. Thirty minutes from Groveland is also Carlon Falls–an easy 1.4-mile trail leading to a 30-foot waterfall on the South Fork of the Tuolumne River. And if you want to get out on the water, a number of rafting companies that offer both day and multi-day trips are based in Groveland, including All-Outdoors and Sierra Mac River Trips.

As for Pine Mountain, its biggest draw is its private lake, which is exclusively for use by property owners and guests. Spring fed, with 210 acres of surface water and 6 miles of shoreline. Lake activities available include water skiing, sailing, boating, swimming and fishing. There are three sandy swim beaches, a boat launch marina, and a fisherman’s park/picnic area. Kayaks, rowboats, sailboats, paddle boats, and fishing boats can be rented at the Marina Store, and The Marina Grill—home to delicious giant ice cream cones— is open daily from May through September

Pine Mountain Lake also offers an equestrian center, beautifully maintained tennis and pickleball courts, a community pool, a premiere 18 hole championship golf course, Country Club Restaurant and Lounge, an airport, campsites, hiking trails, and full time security patrol.

Elevation of Pine Mountain Lake Community ranges from 2500-3100, putting it above the smog and below the snow line. Daytime temps range from the 30’s to 60’s in winter and 80’s to 90’s in the summer; and it is always cool at night. In the winter PML gets a light dusting of snow from time to time. Wildlife in the area includes deer, fox, and numerous other species of birds, including Bald Eagles.

Guest access
In general, the house is very accessible via the community’s main gate, which is supervised 24/7. Door entry is safe and easy via the dedicated Level keypad and digital locks. Driveway parking is ample—more than enough room for several cars. The entire house, patios, front and backyard are all yours to enjoy during your stay.
