Great spot for the whole family

Great large bedrooms and bathrooms, comfortable living space and eating area. Dine-in experience was wonderful. Only two issues were with WiFi (a but slow and unreliable) and could use a little more direction at check in. But I would definitely stay there again.

very cool indoor/outdoor spaces, cool spot perched up on top of the hill, nicer climate than down by the beach.

Our Family Getaway

This was one of the most relaxing vacations that I have ever taken. Prior to our arrival, Kendra was superb and promptly answered n questions that we had. Check in was super easy and the entire staff were extremely attentive and immediately available if needed. Myself and 4 siblings stayed in this beautiful home for 21 days. The house itself was perfect for large groups allowing everyone their own space while at the same time having areas for intimate group gatherings. Would return a heartbeat and plan to do exactly that in the near future.

Exceptional!!

Everything was superior to our expectations. The property was just as described. We had a few hiccups when we first arrived due to a major storm and Kendra and the staff went above and beyond to assist and resolve. Kendra’s communication was outstanding and she was a great resource. We had 8 adults in our group and we all can’t wait to go back!!

Pura vida!

The Courtyard House was the most beautiful backdrop for our Nosara experience. It is a design masterpiece in a secure neighborhood. Kendra is the owner and went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful stay. She was readily available and helped us navigate everything from questions about the house to recommendations for dining and activities. Be sure to communicate with her ahead of time to ensure a smooth check in. This was our first visit to Costa Rica and I miss it already.

Nosara

We had a great vacation staying in this beautiful home, that easily accommodated 4 couples, plenty of room! You will definitely need transportation to get to town. We worked with Ana at National car rental, she was a doll. Kendra (owner) was easy to get in touch with and handled a few unforeseen issues, quickly and efficiently, which was so appreciated! Nosara was a great town, and we will be back!

What works: The house is spectacular. It is beautifully built and well laid out: bedrooms on one side, common areas on the other, with a court-yard and wide exterior stairs in-between. There was ample room for our family of 7, including at the spacious dining room table.The pool is large with several seating options around it. There is no view of the ocean, but the view of the stars on the upper deck is awesome. We didn't miss not being on the beach, as we preferred the relative quiet.After some initial problems with the AC in one bedroom (which Ydelsis fixed the next day), the house temperature was comfortable. Kendra was always responsive. Ydelsis made us a beautiful dinner our first night. What needs work: check-in was difficult. We arrived after dark, and there is no address or house name posted at the gate entry. Many times, the gate would randomly open on its own and the in-room safes were in inaccessible lock mode. The furniture was clearly once beautiful, but now the couches and scant pillows are stained, end tables chipped, and vases empty. The furniture on the upper deck (except for 2 lounge chairs) was missing. The one TV is very small. The kitchen also needs some attention: there were only 3 cooking knives (2 dull), the etching on the stove was impossible to read, many broken appliances (blender, tea kettle, etc.) This is a very high-end house with a high price tag - these are little things that could be remedied easily.

A lovely home!

We enjoyed 12 amazing days in this lovely home on the hill above Playa Guiones! Kendra was a very helpful and attentive host and we appreciated how quickly she and her team fulfilled any need! We also appreciated her local suggestions! This was our first visit to Nosara (and certainly not going to be our last!). We didn’t realize the exact house location wasn’t walkable to the beaches, but actually quite happy with the ability to quickly get to the local beaches within minutes by car (and we equally split the time between beaches for early morning surfing and walks to afternoon beach play and evening sunsets). The location was convenient for everything from Playa Guiones, to Playa Pelada, the town of Nosara, and all our adventures in the area. We enjoyed walking to Tierra Magnífica/Huacas for dinner and cocktails a few nights as well! Our family of 6 was very comfortable and enjoyed the properties space. We look forward to coming back!! Thank you Kendra for making our stay a memorable one!

Lots of details missing and a collection of problems that added up

The three star review here is a combination of several 5 star factors and some truly 1 star experiences. Overall, this property could use much more attention to details commiserate with the price being charged. 5 stars: Kendra, the home manager was kind and attentive. Her communication was clear and she went out of her way to take care of us. Thank you Kendra! 5 stars: the architectural brilliance of the home is exceptional. It's gorgeous. Note that we thought it was a new home: it's not. But it's still very, very cool, per the pictures. 1 star: checkin process was a train wreck. We were told to use a mobile app that never worked. A worker ultimately had to jump a fence to let us in. Then, only one gate key worked (for the entire 4 day stay). We had two cars and this made coming and going very hard. Further, the house was missing the most basic essentials: shampoo. soap, coffee, hairdryer, etc. I've rented more than 20 VRBOs and this was the worst checkin I've seen. 1 star: condition of house was in surprising disarray. Trash in the gardens. Pool not flowing. Air conditioner not working. Exposed electrical wires. Rusted brass items (e.g. in bathrooms). Hot water heater challenges. Etc. Note that per above, Kendra the manager helped us with many things (e.g. sending the pool manager multiple times). Yet between the missing items, the poor checkin, and the state of the house, I probably had to WhatsApp Kendra 10 times (not fun for her nor us!).

We fully agree with Steven's comments on the condition of the house for this particular stay. We, unfortunately, had a major staffing shortage as a result of the tragic loss of a close family member of our house manager immediately prior to his arrival. As a result of her inavailability, the house was not properly prepared nor was she on hand for check-in. We very much appreciate Steven's patience and consider his experience an isolated incident
