We stayed here Dec 2024 - Jan 2025 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is conveniently located not far from the airport, shopping (Costco!), restaurants, and Kailua town. Host Karen was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The house has everything you need for a Hawaiian vacation including beach towels, boogie boards, coolers, ice packs, beach chairs umbrellas, snorkel gear, board games, etc. A washer/dryer onsite was convenient. We enjoyed fresh fruit (tangelos and pink grapefruit) that we picked from the trees on the property, and we enjoyed the menagerie of animals there (doggies, goats, and a giant tortoise). A covered lanai with tropical views was a perfect spot for breakfast (there is a drip coffee maker, BTW). The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. While we highly recommend this location, there are some things to be fully aware for certain travelers:1) If you have bad knees, note that you need to walk up a steep driveway and a few stairs to get in the house.2) If you are sensitive to road noise, the 2nd "kids" bedroom faces a road that can be busy (i.e. loud) with large trucks traversing up or down a hill. Karen has provided white noise machines in the bedrooms, but the trucks can be quite loud.3) If you have mold/mildew sensitivities/allergies, the house sits above a large closed garage. We had no issues with it, but if you have an allergy, it might.4) The pool is quite cold, and the hot tub is very hot. But maybe you'd like that!
