Converted 1800s Horse barn on 2 acres

1800’s Horse Barn fully converted into a modern, light and airy 2 bedroom house, sleeping up to 6 guests. Sitting on 2 acres off a private way, yet still close to all necessary conveniences.

Located in the Sanford lakes region. A short 15 minute drive to Wells Beach, Kennebunk, and Ogunquit with all its beautiful and fun attractions. The town of Sanford has several walking trails through historic, wooded areas and along the Mousam river. The town has some great local restaurants as well as many convenient and modern stores of typical larger cities (such as fast food restaurants, Walmart, Lowes, auto stores exc.)

Family friendly home with a king sized bed, two twins and pull out couch. Two full baths along with laundry. Full sized kitchen with dishwasher.

The kitchen, living room, dining area, spare room and bathroom are all located upstairs. The first floor has the master bedroom, bathroom and washer dryer.
There is a large backyard and privacy from neighbors. The backyard is not fenced but surrounded with woods on most sides. There is also a charcoal grill and picnic tables for use in the backyard.

The place was roomy, clean, and the kitchen was well stocked with amenities. A few suggestions would be: High watt LED bulbs in all the lamps, ceiling fans, and bathroom light fixtures. Need a de-humidifier on the first-floor bedroom, it was a little damp and musty. First floor bedroom plug on the left side of the bed did not work, forcing us to buy an extension cord. No USB plugs in any of the rooms, forcing us the buy 110v to USB adapters. There are no floor lamps on the second floor living room area, it was dark if the sun was not shining. The TV in the master bedroom did not work, perhaps the remote needed batteries, the owner should provide batteries for all remotes in a kitchen drawer. The vent for the A/C was directly under the vanity in the first-floor bathroom, it was very cold after taking a shower and shaving or putting on make-up. Three dead mice were directly underneath the vehicle door when we pulled up. There were no alarm clocks in any of the bedrooms. There wasn't enough water pressure when doing laundry and trying to take a shower at the same time, the water just trickled out of the facutes when laundry was being done.

Spectacular Hidden Gem

Loved this place. We were in for a family reunion. The kitchen and living area were very spacious. Loved the area it was better than described.

Barn Rental

We had a great time staying here. Property was exactly as listed. Owner sent clear check in directions. Property was close to shopping areas, making it easy to get what you needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Alfred's Hideaway

Excellent venue. For us the location was easily accessible and close to family. The owner/host was very responsive to all our questions before arriving. The site was very well kept and had all the conveniences you would need. We would definitely return & recommend to our family/friends.

Perfect with pets

Such a cute place to stay and our dogs loved having an area to run out back. We spent time in Freeport, Kennebunkport, and York and this was a nice home base that was secluded compared to other locations, which we appreciated. Would definitely stay here again!

Great space

The converted barn property was very comfortable. Great beds, wonderful bathrooms, all the conveniences that you would need. I would definitely stay again!

Lively home

The kids loved house. The beds are comfortable and had everything we needed. The home is located in a great spot with correlation to the highway and driving to Wells Beach. It was wonderful to be away from the summer traffic down in Wells Beach. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again!!

Lovely home located close to lakes and beaches

We had a great time enjoying the outdoors in Maine. The house was the perfect place to retreat to after a long day hiking and at the beach. The home looks newly renovated and has all the necessary fixings for an easy stay. We stayed with our two kids, and they loved the toy and game corner. It kept them entertained for hours! The host was lovely and responsive. We would definitely come back!
