Superb place for family gathering
This is a brilliant place to stay. The photos on the website look good, but it is even better in reality.
21 of us had a week-long family gathering. Each family was able to occupy one of the apartments and the cottage. Rooms were all large and very well decorated. Nobody had a duff room!
The best thing about it though is the pool area. The 14m pool was 28C (plenty warm enough) and crystal clear. From the pool area you have lovely views across the valley and back up to the house. By the pool is a hot tub and excellent bar/kitchen/bbq area. Also a ping-pong table by the pool got loads of use. We spent most of the time there. There is also a big table down in the covered pool house which we could all sit round for meals. And another big table up on the terrace of the house for some of the evening meals.
We mostly self-catered and the facilities were excellent. However, one night Tanja helped us arrange a chef to come and feed us a gourmet meal. yum. She also arrange for Carla to come and do a couple of hours washing up for us each evening.
Tanja and her husband were excellent hosts. Tanja in particular went out of her way to ensure we had a good time. She booked us a Canoe trip, arranged for the kids to ride the horses which are kept in the valley, sorted out train logistics, entertained us etc etc
Highly recommend La Fauconnie. Hopefully one day we will be back for another spot of luxury in this fantastic part of France.
