Great stay for multi generational family

The property is just beautiful, in such a quiet area with we loved but only 5 mins from the local amenities. Has all the facilities we could have wanted and needed, even down to family games for the wetter days. Kids loved the pool and play area too! The stay was perfect for us all!

Idyllic French Getaway

This wonderful, well-equipped house was the perfect place to stay with 3 generations - young children, parents & grandparents. Gorgeous views, near many market towns, simply superb.

Beautyfull house

We were there for the second time with our family (12 persons). We all enjoyed our stay. nice house with swimmingpool , tennisCourt and jeu de boule.

An unforgettable stay

What a special week at this beautiful property with all our family. The photos don’t do it justice, it’s just stunning and the perfect hangout. The only thing to note is the bedrooms in the outhouse had low doorways. We loved our in-house cuisine experience organised by Bernard and Thierry. Thierry’s management of the week was superb. Highly recommended!

Three generation family holiday

Quirky, historic property, beautifully equipped for large groups. We were seventeen, ranging from five to 72 and all had a wonderful time. The facilities available were amazing and our grandkids enjoyed the pool, tennis court and table tennis. Be warned though that because of the age of the building, there are lots of different levels, a very old uneven staircase and some very low doorways. We had a great time and fully recommend the property.

The property had everything and more for a large group. Tennis court, table tennis, boule, swimming pool. Bbq and outdoor eating area, huge kitchen, comfortable bedrooms. We had a fun and relaxing break in the sunshine x

A lovely family holiday

A lovely break - the house was pretty much as described.The pool is great - the outside eating space is fantastic and there are 3 big fridges to keep everything cold. The living accommodation is great and it really is a lovely house. Tennis court is in good nick - but bring your own racquets and balls as the stuff there is not great.Thierry - who sorts out any issues was great and really responsive. A few small negatives - the oven is pretty useless and I see that previous reviews have mentioned this - a low cost solution that would make things easier for guests. Secondly - there are no restaurants within walking distance as in the description - but some good ones a short drive away. Finally - you have to pay to use the bikes in the photos - 20 euros a bike - just so you are aware these are not included.

Holiday with friends/partners

Beautiful property set in amazing grounds. Everything was very clean and so much kitchenware available. Lots of different living areas which was great for a big group. The outside bbq/seating area was covered so perfect for when the weather is not so great but you still want to be outside. Pool and tennis courts kept us very entertained. Some of the bedrooms are in outbuildings next to the main house so there were some bugs but that is to be expected for an older building in rural France! My friends and I had a wonderful time and are hoping to come back next year.

Glorious big group holiday

The property lived up to the pictures!! We very much enjoyed the outdoor dining area, tennis courts and kitchen which was well stocked with utensils. Thierry was great dealing with any queries we had about the property and was very welcoming. Cars are a must have - Souzac down the road was brilliant and Mussidan had lots of great big shops for stocking the fridges (3 of them!). We went in April for 10 days and luckily the weather was fabulous but on the rainy days there were plenty of inside spaces to host 14 of us.

Family holiday

A beautiful property set up a small quiet road. A lovely pool area with a perfect outside seating area. Lots of sun beds and parasols for shade. The tennis court is a good quality and the grounds are rambling and quiet. The accommodation is great plenty of space. In keeping with an older property there are quaint stairs in the main house. Bathrooms and toilets to share, toilets are a little small! The annexe is very sweet with little loft rooms and wooden ladder steps. Overall a marvellous place and we hope to visit again.

Property with the Wow Factor

It’s rare that you find a holiday destination that not just meets but exceeds your expectations. This is that property. We are a family group of ten people ranging from grandparents to babies and none of us found anything to find fault with. The property is clean, very well supplied with cooking utensils, crockery etc. and is plenty big enough to give everyone their own space. The swimming pool, tennis court, table tennis table and Pétanque Court provide outside entertainment and there is a games box for when the weather is not so good. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this property to another family group.

Family trip

We had a lovely week. We were 3 generations, 8 adults and 5 children aged 2-7. We had hot weather so everyone enjoyed the swimming pool. The tennis court was excellent but a shame the floodlights weren’t working so we couldn’t play in the cool of the evening. The kitchen was very well equipped and plenty of space for communal eating inside or outside. Thierry and Stephanie looked after us well, and we enjoyed some catered meals which he arranged for us. The farmhouse was lovely, but quirky, so some of the bedrooms were not suitable for small children, and there weren’t really enough toilets for everyone in the main house, however we made it work. The nearest shops were in Mussidan, 10mins drive away. The adults enjoyed the cycle routes.

A beautiful, quirky house in a remote area

We had a truly wonderful week in this property. In particular the facilities were exceptional - a full sized tennis court with plenty of rackets and balls, a clean, beautiful pool with ample sun loungers, table tennis, bikes, we were kept busy! Also the kitchen was superbly equipped for large groups with three fridges, all the utensils you could ever need, and multiple dining spaces inside and out. Sandra and Thierry were extremely accommodating and friendly, and responded quickly and generously to any of our requests. Our only minor issues were with the slightly unconventional distribution of beds and toilets but we made it work. Also we had a one year old with us so we struggled slightly with all the steps around the house but again we made it work and accepted this as a part of an old property's charm. Overall we were blown away by the beauty of the place and could not fault the owners or our general experience of VRBO. Thanks so much, we'll be back!

A beautiful house in a rural setting but in need of updating.

Lots of space for our large party of 14. Age range from 61 down to 17 months. Kitchen well equipped and seating for large party very good. Property very tired and no fence around pool and cover broken. Had to make shift safety for our young children with an old broken fence from Saturday until Wednesday when Thierry attached fence to wall. Play area not accessible as overgrown. Stair cases in house and outbuildings not safe for children. Linen and bedding of very poor quality and beds all very uncomfortable. Air-con not working in upstairs rooms. Rooms filled with mosquitoes because had to open windows. Were not aware of extra charge for electricity until we got final details of holiday. Despite above we made the best of it and had a great week in the pool and visiting local areas. With a bit of TLC this could be a 10/10 property. Despite all my communication being in English, all correspondence was sent to me in French which made booking and planning very difficult.

A fabulous stay in a beautiful setting - perfect for a large group.

"WOW it's even better than the photos", was the response from each family as we arrived at La Bienvenue. A real treasure in the heart of the Perigord countryside. The house offers all the additional extras to entertain adults and children - a beautiful pool, full size tennis court, petanque pitch and table tennis. Also bikes to hire. The outdoor kitchen feels like you've brought the indoors outside, offering a fridge freezer, huge gas bbq, fireplace and enough seating for everyone around a beautiful wooden table. The house offers everything you could need including air condititoning, breakaways and enough crockery to cater for a small wedding! Thierry, who was our main contact is a real asset. He was particularly helpful to our multiple queries and requests and speaks good English. He even arranged for a 5 star meal to be served at the house that made us feel like we were at a wedding - canapes and champage cocktails anyone? Several restaurants, supermarkets and bakeries are within 15 minutes drive. We enjoyed river Kayaking in Neuvic and a lake with free paddleboards. The only negative we could fine were the main house downtairs bedrooms were a little musty and could do with an additional bathroom (or a toilet in the large bathroom). The doors are quite low in the dovecote building and trapdoors staircases make for an interesting toilet trip in the night - definitely two bedrooms to avoid. Overall it was a fabulous stay and the whole group would love to return.

Les équipements sont bien adaptés au nombre de personnes dans le gîte (18), chaise, couvert, taille des tables, réfrigérateurs...Les dépendances sont amusantes, les enfants ont beaucoup aimés.Le terrain de tennis a été très apprécié, il est en état parfait. La table de ping-pong a aussi été utilisée. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en hiver.

Magnifique demeure, très bien équipée pour notre grand groupe de plusieurs familles adultes et ados. Piscine chauffée, même les frileux se sont baignés. Le matériel pour les repas est top (grand Weber à gaz entre autre). Les ados ont adoré le tennis et la table de ping-pong, le soleil était là :-)

Logis de rêve, très bien équipé et authentique.

Nous sommes venus en famille de toute la France pour les 18 ans de notre fille ... Le lieu est splendid et hyper calme.Rien d'autre que les lapins et les biches autour ...Il a plus H24 ... le gîte est tellement grand et bien equipe que ce ne fût pas un problème ...equipe

Entre amis pour le nouvel an

La maison et les espaces extérieurs sont conformes aux photos et agréables ! La maison dispose de divers équipements de cuisine (ex: appareil à raclette entre autres), beaucoup de vaisselle, ustensiles… Cependant, il serait agréable de faire réparer la porte du four ! Elle ne ferme pas, et éviterai de louper une cuisson et de perdre de l’énergie pour rien … À ce sujet, il serait plus fair-play d’annoncer dès le début (et non après validation du premier paiement) que tout au long de l’année (hors juillet/aout) l’électricité est à notre charge. De plus, à la réception de cette agréable maison, il serait appréciable que celle ci soit préalablement chauffée ET que les dépendances où se trouvent les autres chambres et sdb soient chauffées aussi … Un forfait électricité (comme ce que vous proposez en été) serait le bienvenu à cette période ! Tout comme une isolation autour des portes des dépendances, ce qui nous éviterai de voir le jour et de chauffer une passoire. C’est dommage que ces points viennent entacher le séjour … le lieu est tellement joli et agréable ! Nous avons cependant passé un agréable séjour, nous tenions juste à relever ces points afin que les prochains soient informés de tout. Quant à la personne qui s’est occupé de notre arrivée et notre départ, c’est une personne très professionnelle et agréable.
