We stayed in John's condo for the entire month of January. First, John and Sherrie did a wonderful job remodeling and decorating the unit. The setting is peaceful with a view of the lake (pond) right out the door. Many kinds of birds nest there, and are relatively tame for feeding. The outdoor terrace, table, and canopy provided a comfortable place to park daily. The unit is essentially socially isolated, within a working-class neighborhood. It is not in a complex, so there is no pool, clubhouse, or social gathering points. However, our Bichon made a number of friends, as there are puppies all over the neighborhood. Shopping and restaurants are nearby. While the overall atmosphere of the unit was pleasant, it lacked some basics. There is no table and chairs inside the condo. It's a pain to try to work on the computer hunched over the coffee table or eat on it. There are too few light sources in the downstairs bedroom-only one 40W. lamp and only one reading light in the master bedroom. While the VRBO ad says there is basic cable, the only channels available are the local networks and a few others. Netflix, Hula, Crackle, and other internet channels are available, but, perhaps, real cable will be installed in the near future. Basic amenities like toilet paper, dishwasher and laundry soaps, and wastebasket bags were not adequately provided for a long stay, but John was kind enough to replenish them. All-in-all we enjoyed a pleasant stay and would recommend this condo for people who don't need a lot of social stimulation but like a more serene atmosphere.
