Experience the essence of Alaska just outside your door! The new, In The Lee Yurt is located steps away from Salmon Creek on the outskirts of Kenai Fjords NP and 4 miles from the harbor. Nestled in the trees, this is the perfect jump off point to all your adventures in Seward. Fire up the BBQ, light the firepit, take in the sweeping mountain peaks, look out for wildlife as they frequent the creek and recharge in the cozy atmosphere of an Alaskan Yurt.

The Yurt has electricity and running water, we have a beautiful on demand hot water outdoor shower located on the deck. ** There is a very clean and well maintained porta-potty for our guests to use privately just steps away from the Yurt.
Remember, you are in Alaska! There are bears and wild animals everywhere. We provide you with bear spray, but we ask to be mindful of foods left outside.
*Fishing in the creek is prohibited by state law* We ask that you keep your fires in the designated fire ring and please NO fish processing on the property. No cooking is permitted inside the yurt, please use the Bbq.

This place is heaven on earth! River was amazing right next to yurt seen fish jumping and eagles across the river was fun to watch! Outdoor shower was the cherry on top! This place is so amazing will definitely stay again.

This one on of the Best experiences the kids and I have ever had. The view from the deck is amazing surrounded by mountains in the distance. While using the outside shower u can watch Eagles fish from the river and bring it back to there nest. The Host for this property is really friendly as well. I would recommend this to everyone.

Beautiful spot along the river with peaceful setting. Our main negative was that we were traveling with two small children. It’s not possible to get the room dark in the evening due to the skylight and the Alaska summer sun so our children had a hard time napping and going to bed. Not the hosts’ fault, just something to think about with small kids. Otherwise we enjoyed our time in the yurt. The shower was fantastic!

The yurt was the perfect place to stay for a weekend trip to Seward! We loved that it was in its own little space. Being just outside Seward made it easy for us to come and go throughout the day. It was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed!

Great Experience

We loved our two night stay in Seward. The yurt is great, and the interior is incredible. We wish it had been a little more private from the neighbors, but the views of the mountains and the sounds of the creek far outweigh any negatives. If you’re comfortable with rustic accommodations, this is a perfect place to stay!

Enjoyed our two night stay. Yurt provided a private, peaceful place to relax. Host gave attention to details to make yurt welcoming for guest. Outhouse was immaculate. Porch shower was top notch. Very pleased to have found this listing as it enhanced our stay in Seward.

So beautiful!

Very comfortable with plenty of amenities. We didn’t use the grill but if we came again, definitely would. Love the sound and view of the creek and even saw an eagle land while laying in the top bunk. It was in the 50s during our stay and never needed to turn on the heat- stayed comfortably warm all 3 days.

Luxury Camping with a View

The hosts were very responsive and available to answer any questions. The deck and picnic table offered spectacular views of mountains and Salmon Creek. The firepit and on demand shower were daily hits. Very comfortable experience!

We Loved This Property!

The yurt is cute and smartly designed. It was so relaxing sleeping on the comfy beds to the sounds of the rushing creek. We enjoyed the firepit and numerous birds. The linens were top notch and the warm outdoor shower was fun. Plenty of hot water! Even the porta-potty was spotless. The host was a pleasure to deal with.

LOVED everything about our stay! Great place: well stocked, easy to cook everything on the outside grill (has a side burner for pots & pans), the outdoor shower has great water pressure and the water was hot within a second, comfy beds, had bowls, blanket and a towel for my dog (very thoughtful!), plenty of towels for humans too! Good location: close to town, quiet area, right on the creek (love the sound of the running water!), eagles nest right across the creek. Fantastic communication from the hosts and very easy to check in. If you can book this place, do it!! You won’t regret it.

We love the yurt In the Lee that is nestled next to the river. Eagles kept us entertained while we enjoyed the deck. Your outdoor shower was the absolute best experience. Plenty of hot water. Loved the cool breeze on my feet while hot water showered down. My dog loved the yard. He was a highly entertained with a squirrel. Thank you for providing a welcoming and comfortable stay.

Stayed in this yurt for 2 nights, it was so perfect! Extremely clean, easy check in, outdoor bathroom was a porta potty I was originally a little worried about before seeing it but it turned out to be nice and spacious and the cleanest best smelling porta potty I have ever used lol and right outside from the Yurts front deck steps. Outdoor shower was probably the most peaceful shower I ever took, absolutely no worries on hot water, and just a couple steps from front door. Multiple options for heat and ended up not even needing them. Lots of amenities, had a bonfire one night with wood provided already at the yurt. The small braided river is litterally right there and the sound of the water is heard from inside of yurt, and view of it from glass sliding doors seen right from bed, unbelievably peaceful! Never had an issue with too much light to sleep but sleep masks are provided which we did not need, we slept hard here. Would highly recommend staying here. Super cool place!

This Yurt was very special and enhanced our overall Alaska trip experience tremendously. We love to camp and this yurt is embedded in nature but is one giant step up in comfort and convenience. It felt just right for the area and we loved it. Everything was so well thought out, carefully executed and convenient, despite the limited space. Brilliant planning. Especially admired the desk. One highlight was hearing and seeing the rushing glacial-melt river right from bed. Thanks for sharing your obviously-cherished home in the wilds.

Amazing yurt! Our family was very warm and comfortable. The yurt is very well thought out. Everything we needed was there. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and liked being just slightly removed but very easy drive) from the town of Seward. Highly recommended!
