This was a beautiful property. The only issue we had was it was a basement style apartment without a fire escape (windows are not egress and upstairs condo/apt had a deck built of window openings). It was extremely clean and well kept.

Cute and convenient place for the ski resort! Fire safety seems like a concern with difficulty accessing escapes in the basement. Also, large fines for setting off smoke detectors.

Steamboat weekday ski trip

Property was clean and comfortable. I’d be happy to stay here again. The bus into town was easy - just call for pick up. I drove to the free meadow lot and then took a shuttle to the ski area, no problem parking during the week.

If I had researched more I would not picked this location. It is not on the free bus loop ( it is on one you have to call and ends at 6 pm) so we had to drive into town and then get bus to gondola square. Next. No view , or should I say you can not see sunlight from windows as the are below the upstairs porch.

I do want to clarify a couple of points for future guests. The property location and transportation details are accurately outlined in the listing, including the type of bus access available. Many guests choose this area specifically for its quieter setting while still being a short drive to town and the gondola, as we are centrally located, but a bit closer to downtown. Regarding the layout, the unit is designed as a lower-level space, which is also reflected in the listing photos and description, in multiple places. While it does not offer expansive views, it provides a private, comfortable environment that many guests enjoy after a full day on the mountain. We always encourage guests to reach out prior to booking if location, views, or transportation are a top priority, we’re happy to guide them to the best fit.

Our stay

This basement apartment is probably just fine for the winter months however our stay was during the summer and they’re only two small 18 x 18“ windows for a two bedroom apartment. It was very hot and stuffy. At night we sweated when we slept there is no AC Other than that. Everything was fine.

We enjoyed our stay here, clean and quiet. The halls were under renovation when we went in so honestly it looked a little sketch when we headed to the room. But we went to the room and it was actually quite nice. Just know you’re not here for any views. And figure out the way to get fresh air (through the unit all the way in the back) early. Not right before you check out. My bad on that. But if you’re in town to do stuff other than hang out in the room, like us, it’s fine.

Not what expected

The pictures online don't show what the unit is like. We went to steamboat to enjoy the beautiful mountains and were stuck in the basement with no windows and a complex under construction. Not what we wanted or were expecting.

Hi Scott, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear the unit wasn’t what you were expecting. We do want to clarify that the photos on our listing are up-to-date and accurately represent the space exactly as it is, including the description stating the unit is in the basement. Transparency is important to us, and we’ve taken care to provide a clear view of what guests can expect. The hallway carpet renovation you mentioned has since been completed to enhance the overall guest experience, and we appreciate your patience during that process. For future bookings, we encourage guests to review all photos and read through descriptions and guest reviews carefully to ensure the property is a good fit for their needs. We always welcome constructive feedback, but we also feel it's important that expectations are set through the resources we provide.

One of our favorite things about being VRBO hosts is sharing our space with so many wonderful people from near and far. It’s incredibly humbling knowing that the homes we’ve put our hearts into are playing a small part in our guests’ stories.
