Gorgeous country home overlooking the hill country. Enjoy coffee on the screened back porch while watching the native wildlife stroll by. Fully equipped kitchen with gas stove and dishwasher. Lovely gas fireplace to warm up on cold days.

This is a new listing for us, however we have another VRBO that is a small cabin in the same area. Feel free to see the reviews (4.9 rating).

Our time in the cabin was relaxing. Communication with the host was easy and she responded quickly to any questions we had. The home was as described with plenty of linens. The deer in the backyard were fun to watch in both the mornings and evenings.

What a great stay! I wish we could have stayed longer!Pros: Secluded, pet friendly, and so spacious! There was plenty of plates, cups, utensils and pots/pans. There is a fire pit outside to enjoy. The screened porch is a wonderful spot to drink your coffee in the morning and enjoy the hill country views. The best part was feeding the deer on the property!Cons: There are only a few staples for cooking, so it's safer to just bring your own things, which might be inconvenient for you. The closest store is about 25 minutes away in Comfort, TX (if you're driving the speed limit). With that being said, if you're a nervous driver, you might be uncomfortable driving those winding, country roads...especially at night! Lol Overall, it's a wonderful place to stay, if you don't mind all the driving. The host was also fantastic!

Amenities were great. Grandchildren loved watching the deer up close in the screened in porch. The decorations for Christmas were very homey and a first class kitchen. The grandchildren loved the fireplace. Thanks for sharing your home and making our stay unforgettable.

There was a VERY SMALL and LIMITED amount of: Detergent, Dish Soap, Kitchen Trash BagsLacking kitchen items. There were not enough: Serving Dishes, No Kitchen Scissors, No Food StrainerParking was not ideal.There was not a closet in front bedroom.Beautiful home but not accommodating. Won’t stay here again.

Well stocked kitchen with many condiments and cooking utensils. Absolutely loved the screened in back porch. Great for visiting, reading or just relaxing. Comfortable beds, great layout. Might need more sitting areas in the living room.

Kitchen was well stocked although there were a few dead bugs, so I washed anything we used. The rest of the house was tastefully decorated in a "country" style. The yard was nice and green, we saw deer, and the pets were happy. There were plenty of linens and extra household items. The only shortcoming was the internet, even while using the wi-fi. I guess it could be considered a plus if you don’t want to be disturbed by phone calls and text messages. It was very close to our venue and the restaurant down the road was very good. Overall, I would stay again.

Comfort getaway

My husband and I and our two small dogs had a nice stay in Hill Country. The house is as described and even nicer when you arrive. The kitchen is spacious snd well equipped and all the rooms are very nice. The screened porch is large and a great place to relax and enjoy nature. It was quiet and safe and not too far from Comfort or Fredricksburg. Only problem was the terrible flooding occurred while we were there so we couldn’t go to many of our favorite spots. We really want to visit again when it is cooler.

Perfect little house

It is a lovely little house in the middle of nowhere. We had a group of 6 and had plenty of room. We had an amazing time and would love to book again.

A great hill country experience

Although the house is not old, it is decorated with so many vintage things that must have been full of memories to the people who once lived there. We loved the spacious accommodation, the plentiful crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, and the screened back porch. Sitting out there we watched regular grazing deer, a passing jackrabbit and lots of birds. The humming birds are a delight and explained the theme of many items within the house. We found the location handy for visiting places in every direction - no more than 40 minutes in the car wherever we went. Our first visit from Scotland to the Texan Hill Country was a resounding success.

Awesome place

This house was awesome. 20 minutes from everything but far enough to get away from everything. We had an amazing time and will continue to use this house when we come back. House and property was very clean. Wildlife comes in the back yard so you can enjoy that during the stay.

Everything you need and more

Our adult family of five found the accommodations very suitable for our needs. The host are very responsive and attentive to any of your requests.I would definitely rent it again and recommended to anyone wanting a full-size home and kitchen with a large number of appliances to use and utensils.

Quiet getaway

It’s was a good distance from town so it really felt secluded and was nice and quiet. We saw and feed deer, birds and rabbits. It was nice sitting in the porch with coffee in the morning watching the wildlife as well as in the evening. Everything was clean and the linens were well stocked. The master bed was too firm, but that’s personal preference. We’d love to stay here again!

Beautiful Area

If you love nature, this is the best place to stay in the area! It's off the beaten path and perfect! The home was acceptionally clean and has a lot of character. Loved it and highly recommend it!

Great Property!

My mom and sister and I take a girls trip every spring. This house was a wonderful location. The screened porch was a comfortable place to watch the deer (11!) and hummingbirds, redbirds, and finches. The kitchen was modern and well stocked for our meals together. The table was large for games and crafts. The beds were comfy and I appreciated a walk in shower for my mom.

My husband and I both grew up in the Texas Hill Country. We first become hosts when we posted my Dad's cabin about 5 years ago. We have enjoyed meeting people from Texas, around the US and even other countries. It's a pleasure to share the beautiful hill country with others.

Omie's house is a secluded country home with limited view of neighbors no closer than 1/2 mile away. Gorgeous back porch view of the family "hill" with lots of wildlife, clear skies and country peace.

This property has been in the "Jung" family since the mid 1800s. They came to the US from Germany arriving in the Galveston port in 1845 just before the Republic of Texas joined the United States in 1946.
