excellent

Really enjoyed our stay at the coral penthouse. I took my family 7 there for the holidays this year. The apartment is spacious and comfortable with all you need and there is easy access to the beaches and shops. Max, the onsite manager speaks excellent english and with all of his help with arrangements the vacation was fun and relaxing. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

O apto é maravilhoso, luxuoso e fica em ótima localização. Possui todo o mobiliário necessário para estadia, toalhas, roupa de cama, sabonete, shampoo, utensílios para cozinha, tudo super limpo e com toque de hotel. O proprietário, bem como o gerente Max foram super atenciosos conosco, nos ajudando em tudo. Ficamos em 8 pessoas e todas nós super recomendamos a cobertura !

Made work pleasurable!

We were very happy at The Coral Penthouse. Things were smooth and easy to handle. I liked that we could call and have an English speaker answer the cell phone at every turn. I am a German participant of a musical group and speak zero Portuguese. We found the guide books we bought before our trip were a little bit riskier to follow once we arrived so it was nice to have extra attention. I am very inclined to return for fun and not just work because there is a good amount of Rio I couldn't fit into this visit.

I have never been so inclined to write a review but The Coral Penthouse more than deserves 5 stars. I was part of a group of 15 Americans from San Fran here to learn jujitsu with the best. Having The Coral Penthouse to call home all week made the experience awesome. The staff was very friendly and the cleaning service was incredible. I had laundry services done while there and took advantage of the mini-bar. This place is like a hotel. The best part was having such an amazing resource, Paula. The Penthouse has a half Brazilian half American manager so we were covered from every angle. From day 1 we had access to call her for translations, suggestions, night life and tourism and she was a doorbell ring away Monday through Friday and even had our currency exchanged within an hour of our arrival! I couldn't have been happier overall with the service. We had a great time, perfect weather and were basically staying at the Ritz Rio. I wasn't part of the booking but when I found out the rates a few of us have already starting planning a month next year. By far the best vacation I have had. #awesome

The best accommodations in Rio!!!

David, Junior, Bruno, and Maralene were wonderful hosts and we can't wait to return. We highly recommend David's penthouse to anyone visiting Rio as there is no question on where we will stay upon our return. David and his staff provide everything from electrical plug converters...wifi... beach towels....everything was taken care of! We traveled to Rio for a wedding. We had 9 guests staying in the penthouse and were all very comfortable...while we were all together, we also had our own space. The penthouse was exactly as described in the photos...very clean, well kept, and beautifully decorated. Maralene kept the apartment spotless! The terrace that wrapped around the penthouse was wonderful and we slept with the terrace doors of our bedroom open each night which was such a wonderful treat. No bugs in Rio! We were a bit nervous about traveling to Rio and spent many months planning/researching our trip. David had been very helpful every step of the way in addressing any concerns/questions that we had, and we had many! David really took the time to make us feel comfortable. The penthouse was perfect for us in every way. Junior and David assisted us in finding great restaurants and made suggestions for us to see many of the beautiful sights in Rio. We had many other family/friends in Rio due to the wedding that brought us all there and the penthouse was the perfect gathering spot between our activities. This would not have been possible in a hotel and our experience would not have been as perfect as it was if it were not for the penthouse! David's penthouse is located just two blocks from Copacabana beach in an active part of town, the surrounding streets felt safe and never deserted. The penthouse is located in a locked building with a 24 hour attendant which made us feel secure. There are grocery stores, ATM machines, restaurants, and a great 24 hour juice bar within a block. Junior directed us to a great cafe for breakfast just 2 blocks away- Cafeina, which was delicious! Junior was especially great...some of our guests arrived at different times and he made sure that he was present to greet them and answer any questions that they had. He made coffee upon arrival and provided us with a beautiful basket of treats! He checked in with us regularly and was available to us via phone as needed when we had questions....he was our own personal concierge with so much knowledge about the city! He even helped with our luggage!

Wonderful Stay in Copacabana

A group of friends planned this trip to Rio for my birthday weekend. It ended up being one couple and 5 single friends. I couldn't have been more pleased with all aspects of the trip. From the start, when we chose David's penthouse to stay at, David was helpful, attentive and everything went smoothly. When we arrived, we couldn't have been happier. The apartment is exactly as described in the listening. It ended up being perfect for our group. David had set up one room for a couple and the two additional bedrooms had single beds in them (he had asked ahead of time what our preference was). Additionally, the beautifully decorated library was set up with a bed. The decor was tasteful and the apartment was impeccably clean. David thought of little details such as napkins and garbage bags in the kitchen and a reusable coffee filter in the coffee pot! Plentiful linens were provided. These are little details that make things so much nicer. Each day we went to get items for our breakfast at the local markets - there are two on the same block. The beach is an easy 5 minute walk away. I had never stayed in Copacabana and was very happy with the location. There is a great juice bar - one of the delights of Rio - right on the corner where you can get almost any fresh juice you can imagine! If you are considering Rio, I would highly recommend David's apartment. And, I seriously suggest considering Rio. I've been a half a dozen times now and it never lets me down. From the nightlife of Leblon and Lapa, to the beautiful beaches that are a delight to all the senses, to the amazing sight of Christ the Redeemer perched high on the hill overlooking the city, Rio has something for everyone. The already wonderful trip was made that much better to have a place like David's to come "home" to each night. Thanks. I can guarantee I will recommend it to all my friends.

Safe, Excellent and Fun !

Just wanted to thank David and his team. Myself and 5 buddies travelled to Brazil to experience all that Rio had to offer. We wanted to party, eat, soak in the sun and be safe while doing it. We heard all the crime stories but David provided us a tour guide/driver in Marcos who really went above and beyond to ensure we had a blast and kept in the right areas. The accommodations are very, very well kept. Very nice decor and beautiful views. Its had a wrap around balcony and each bedroom has access to the balcony. The bathrooms are very clean and appeared to be recently renovated. New looking. There is a small but nice kitchen. The premise has a safe for your belongings and its located a block away from Copacabana beach and in the center of the town. We'd get up and grab fresh juice each morning from a spot across the street. Sun shines on the wraparound balcony all day....so nice. We would receive clean towels each day from the building manager and there was always a doorman 24 hours a day. Impanema beach is only 5 minute cab away...$12 Rias approx. I travel often and have stayed at many hotels etc...I definitely recommend this place.... Sharad

The Penthouse is fabulous. The rooms are spacious and clean. The bathroom where super modern and updated as well. The best part was the owner and his recommended staff. The went the extra mile to make sure our trip was flawless. I would definitely stay there again and recommend to everyone. Ps.. IT is in the best location.....super central and safe

This was an absolute winner. The owner was very helpful and accomodating, really worked with us in every aspect and was easily available for questions. The whole process was smooth and we had a blast staying at this place. It was located in a very nice area, near the beach, and a 5 minute cab to Impanema or Leblon. You should defnatley ask for Marcos the driver/guide if you want car service. David put us in contact with him and our experience was 10x better because of Marcos. He is very accomodating, punctual, polite, and knowledgeable. The place is great and if I go back to Rio I will def stay here again.

Excellent penthouse and excellent service

I travel for 11 months a year and 90% of the time stay in rental apartments. My girlfriend joined me in Rio so we took David's penthouse for 2 weeks. The communication with David leading up to our stay was excellent, he came across as very friendly and accommodating. When we arrived, the apartment was well-stocked with a water fountain and other great little touches that showed that he wanted to look after people. Previously I had stayed in an apartment where there was only one toilet roll, no kitchen basics, and where I had to pay for cleaning and electricity on top of the rental fee! This was a world apart. Barbara looks after the house and is incredibly friendly and polite. The penthouse itself is nicely decorated, has good wifi, an ipod dock, and terrace and views are excellent. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

Beautiful, convenient, perfect place

Our family of five spent New Year's week in Rio in this penthouse and had the best time. The layout, decor, and details were beyond our expectations. Fresh fruit, chocolate, and other goods awaited our arrival as did his staff who made sure we were settled. We cooked meals using food from local markets, took on expeditions with a guide provided and savored breakfast in the sun out on the balcony. With the wireless network, we were able to research activities in Rio, and of course, the beach was just a few minutes walk away. This was a wonderful experience.

Awesome Penthouse

My co-workers and I were on a buisness trip in Rio looking for something other than a hotel where we might have a "HOME" feel! We found it in the penthouse. We were on business for 4 days and stayed over an additional 3 for play. It is idealy located near the beach, grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, cabs, a park, and whatever else you might be looking for. We all truly enjoyed our stay and hopefully will be able to get back some day! -Chrissy

Dazzling, Ezquisite Property! Great Location!

This penthouse is a gem in the city of Rio. Centrally-located, beautifully appointed, spacious, and with much individuality. The unit is partitioned into two separate penthouses, with ample-sized kitchens and airy living rooms. The bedrooms are intimate and quiet. I look forward to returning again soon. Special kudos to the lovely, gracious staff!

Adoramos o apartamento, parabéns pelo imóvel, além de bem localizado é de extrema elegancia e aconchego, saimos de Blumenau/SC com uma expectativa com relação as imagens, chegando na cobertura vimos que realmente é o que apresenta as imagens. A equipe nos atendeu muito bem... Adriano responsavel por nos receber, cuidou de todos os detalhes com profissionalismo. Toalhas, travesseiros e roupa de cama impecável com cheiro de boa limpeza. Family get-together in Rio

Our family of 8, ranging from teenagers to grandmother, from three different parts of the US, came together in Rio at the Copacabana penthouse apartment. The apartment is beautiful, airy and tastefully decorated. We had plenty of room to "hang out" together in the dining room, living room and lovely outside terrace. We used the 3 bedrooms and the study to accomodate the necessary sleeping arrangements. David was very flexible and ensured that we had whatever we needed. The penthouse location is central for a variety of tourist adventures and relaxing/biking along the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema. It is very convenient to stores and we always felt safe. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, well furnished, safe and beautiful. Plus its fun to watch the busy streets below from the terrace! David is such a friendly and terrific host! His outgoing personality, willingness to help and answer any questions regarding the apartment and the surrounding area made us feel at home and confident to make our way around this region of Rio. He connected us with transportation from the airport, a reliable and affordable tour guide and advice about using public transportation in Rio. He provided a google map which included local restaurants, grocery stores, banks and local amenities like juice bars and street food for our enjoyment. We all agreed that when we return to Rio,this would be our first choice for accommodations. I would enthusiastically recommend the Copacabana penthouse apartment to another friend, colleague or family member. Overall an A+

Outstanding Penthouse

We stayed at this luxurious Penthouse in a great part of Copacabana for three nights. We had such a good experience that after traveling around Brazil, we chose to return to Rio and spend our final night again at the Penthouse. The rooms are done with exquisite taste and the balconies are great as well. Looking forward to returning!

Stunning property...perfect place to stay in Rio!!

This is by far my favourite place to stay in Rio! A real home away from home. I have stayed at both penthouses on numerous occasions and highly recommend them both. Beautifully decorated throughout, 2 blocks from the beach, doorman building, subway on the corner and 24 hr deli on the corner...what more could one want?! David Parker the owner who is from NYC and Adriano who manages the properties are both extremely helpful and accommodating. I can't fault this place and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rio de Janeiro.

I discovered Brazil in 2000, and began traveling often to get to know the country and people better. With lots of flexibility in my work, I spend more than 4 months a year in Brazil. I bought this very special duplex penthouse 5 years ago. It's a bit a paradise just 2 blocks from the beach.

I bought this apartment because it was right in the middle of my favorite neighborhood, Copacabana. Copacabana is the original beach city of Rio. And has all the charm and life of a vital city. It's also so much more convenient to reach the downtown or other locations such as Ipanema.
