Stayed week of Christmas 2021.
Well stocked house - very pretty view for nightly sunsets and an enjoyable and comfortable stay! Bed and pillows very comfortable which is rare. Owner helped bring in a few items we ordered in advance bottles water etc. which was really helpful.
Beach has a lot of broken shells so shoes are needed, not much depth to beach but nice and a good distance for walking - I walked to the Don Cesar hotel on the beach several times. If you’re looking for that powder white sand this is not the area - which is interesting since both north and south you can find them but it may be all the shells and their color.
A house is just starting to be built an arms length from this one, so might want to check on that as they started construction very early in the morning the first half of our trip and then they stopped starting Christmas Day. (Owner had no idea they would be starting work so no fault there). So we did go an hour south and stayed one night at the Ritz in Sarasota, for a change and to sleep in. Also there lots of boutique shopping and nicer restaurants in St Armand’s Circle so it was a nice compliment to being “away from it all.”
Only one nicer restaurant in PAG (Grace) a few blocks away (are there twice). So that’s something to note if you like fine dining as it’s mostly flip flop style places/bar food in PAG. So you’ll need to drive. All the people we met were really nice around the area, and there’s a few cute stores on 8th St which is where Grace is, and seemed to be the little stores in the area are as well. Highly recommend local place, Shaner’s market, it is a couple minute car ride or a 15-20 minute walk away - groceries, meat and seafood market, deli with (boar’s head) and basics. No need to cook breakfast and have to clean up as they make great breakfast sandwiches that are excellent quality and very inexpensive. Have fun!
