Bring your earplugs and a warm coat! The home looks welcoming, situated by the Bow Valley river, but had some negatives that were hard to ignore. The blinds on the single paned windows in the bedrooms don’t work, so the street light shines in, and the train coming through at 3am feels like it’s taking its journey through your room. The owner was there to greet us on the first day, which was nice, but when we needed her help during the week was unavailable and didn’t respond to requests for days. The fridge was already partially filled with food left from previous guests, which left little room for our groceries. The gas stove and oven were a challenge to operate, and the outdoor BBQ had not been cleaned. We always knew when the owner was out, as she lived in the basement with her dog, who would yap constantly while she was away.
