Great Weekend Getaway

Great location with excellent customer service, close to the pool and beach, and not far from other attractions on the island. Would definitely stay again.

We loved our stay and the convenience of the beach nearby, as well as the community pool/splash pad. It was a great experience and very clean!

Location had a long-standing cigarette stench that was more than overpowering. Host offered to "ozone treat" the apartment, which would have been obviously needed before guests arrived but a large inconvenience after the fact. We traveled with a dog and couldn't have them do this unexplained process while we were there due to not trusting that process once all of our belongings were moved into the location. No room sprays or candles would help, but we had no other options at this point in travel.Walls are extremely thin and you'll hear everything along your trip from neighbors with or without pets/kids. From 2-10am there will inevitably be stomping up and down the stairs (shared walls) and upstairs above the sleeping quarters (shared walls and floor level).Worst location we have had for relaxing or restful sleep down in Padre over the years we have visited.Underwear and other clothing articles were left in the location for our kid to bring to us asking who's they are (negligence/disgusting).Cleaning and upkeep was minimal at best. We chose to wear socks inside due to the floor staining our feet.Doors don't lock easily, back gate opens and slams at night with the wind. Pool was 20x20 circular and extremely tiny. Beds are thin and creak very loudly. Fans make noise at night if you enjoy that ambience.We wouldn't stay here in the future if it was free. Location is close to the beach. Quite literally the only positive thing about this spot.

As soon as you let us know about the odor, we immediately offered to ozone treat the home, but we understood your decision not to have that performed during your stay once you were settled in. We also wish we had been made aware of the housekeeping and maintenance concerns while you were here. The clothing left behind, difficulty with the door locks, and any cleanliness issues are certainly not the experience we strive to provide, and we would have addressed them right away. The size of the pool, the home's location within the complex, and its proximity to the beach are all reflected in the listing and photos so guests can choose the property that best fits their needs. Guests also have access to both pools including the larger resort-style pool next door. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving both the home and our guest experience.

Overall we were very pleased with the condo. Good location and cleanliness. The only thing that kept it from a 5 star was the side yard. We picked this place because we had our dogs with us and the yard was one of our requirements. The rocks in the yard were so sharp that our dogs refused to walk on it and we ended up having to walk them instead.

Thanks for a wonderful stay.

This was our third visit to Village by the Beach w/ Padre Escapes. Our unit was just as stated, clean and ready for us. There was plenty of space for grandma, grandpa, mom, dad and 2 boys 13 and 9.Pools were great and we loved being so close to the beach.We had a small hiccup when we got locked out of the condo, but with a couple of phone calls, since it was Sunday night we had a response in about 15 minutes and all was good.We can't wait for our next trip!

Great Location & Amenities - Would Stay Again!

Premier Gulf's 'Bondi Beach' property was a great place to stay! Very walkable to the beach and easy to access by car as well. Ample bedroom space for everyone and living area was well furnished and updated. The property managers were very easy to communicate with and even provided a highchair and baby gate for us at no extra charge! My only critique is that there were a few dust spots in some of the less-er touched areas/corners, but otherwise it was very clean and well-kept! I would stay here again.

4 weekday stay

Just off the beach as advertised. The place was great and the 3rd bathroom was convenient for our group of five. The kitchen and living area is upstairs (common for the island). The only issues were that we didn’t get the check in instructions until 10 minutes after check in time. We had a 5pm engagement across town which made it hard to make on time.Also, bring bug spray or the mosquitoes will eat you alive (another island problem). Otherwise, a very nice and relaxing stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was in a good location and clean and with 3 full bathrooms it made showering after beach time easy with a family of 4. The appliances are older and could be felt in their usage. For example, the dryer took forever to dry the load of laundry that we did and the refrigerator seems to be on its way out. When we first arrived we had a hard time getting in the door, but with the helpful rental staff just a phone call away it was our user error and we got right in. Thank you for letting us stay in your home.

Smokers have used this place in the past, lingering smell but not overpowering. No place to set anything in the entry except on floor. Kitchen & family area upstairs, unusual. Three bathrooms was excellent, kitchen excellent. Faucet near front door to rinse sand before entry helped a lot. Text information for entering property was received 10 minutes late (after check in time). If we needed the trundle bed located under the bunk bed in the front bedroom, it would have been impossible to walk in that room. The bunk bed upper rail needs repair due to a disconnected bolt. The exterior security light next to the front entry shines into the front bedroom window all night and cannot be turned off.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall our stay was good, but there were things broken in our rooms (beds, holes in walls, shower curtains falling, etc.). Maintenance did not seem to make it a priority to fix our broken items. I stressed the bed being broken over the phone 3 times and they said they might get to it.. I told them we could not sleep there as it is broken and then they finally said they would send a maintenance person over to take a look at it. The kitchen was on the top floor which is stated in the listing, but we were still shocked at the layout every day. Overall, everyone slept really well and comfortable. AC was nice and cold the whole time. Access to the beach was easy and the pool was fun!

We always enjoy our stay on Whitecap. We have stayed at several places the last 18 years so I may be a bit picky about this review. There were no plastic storage containers for us to use. The dryer took more than one drying cycle to dry our clothes. The framing around the ice maker on the freezer door was broken and kept falling off every time the door was opened. There's no water hose to wash off sand and chairs from the beach, just a faucet. The back door in the primary room: there are three locks on it: two deadbolts and the handle. The only one that worked was the top deadbolt and you really have to pull the door in the lock it; if you don't lock the top deadbolt, the door remains unlocked and unlatched from the door jamb which will ultimately swing open with wind, or in our case, the back door opened when the front door was opened/closed.

We appreciate you bringing the dryer, ice maker trim, and patio door to our attention, and we'll be sharing those items with our maintenance team so they can be inspected. Regarding the outdoor water hose, we're currently under Stage 3 water restrictions, so hoses are not permitted and have been removed in accordance with the local restrictions. We know they're convenient after a day at the beach, and we appreciate your understanding. As for the storage containers, we provide a detailed list in our listing of what's included in the home, along with the items guests should plan to bring so they can arrive prepared with everything they need for their vacation.
