We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely historic home in beautiful PA Amish country! The home has been thoughtfully restored and is furnished with many unique antiques and gorgeous artwork. It is clean, comfortable, and well stocked with so many essentials and extras that makes it truly feel like a home away from home! Maureen is an excellent host and so friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the side porch and also taking a long walk down the adjacent country road with Amish farms all along the way. We were close enough to go visit some of the more touristy areas, but our favorite part of our stay was driving through the rural countryside and staying at a home that was literally nestled in a quaint Amish community. We hope to visit again!!

Beautiful home in a relaxing farm setting, perfect for the quiet long weekend getaway we were looking for! Home was super clean & had everything we could have needed. Longwood Gardens Visit

We enjoyed our stay so much! It was only a short 30 minute drive to the gardens. The house was cozy and well taken care of… we enjoyed the garden on the property and sitting out on the porch every morning watching the Amish buggies go by and bird watching.

Beautiful house, Wonderful host.

The house was very clean, well appointed and provided all the modern amenities you wouldn't expect to find in a house built in 1885. Air conditioners throughout, smart TV, all the necessary kitchen appliances, etc. The circular driveway provided convenient parking for unloading with the added benefit of being only a short few steps away in rainy weather. The host, who lives next door, greeted us upon arrival and provided some history and local recommendations. Despite her close proximity, she didn't come around or hover. Note that the entry is on the side of the house facing away from hers, so there's not direct line of sight.I gave the location only 4 stars since it is located across the street from a working dairy farm that can be...shall we say...fragrant, and I know some people wouldn't like that. My wife grew up on a dairy farm so she didn't mind, and it brought back some memories. It's the country folks...roll with it.The location is a little out of the way, but it was perfect for the 5 minute drive to the wedding venue were there for.I would certainly stay there again.

Wonderful, historic house!!

We stayed here for a professional training event taking place at a farm nearby and just LOVED it!! So charming, even though we were *blessed* with continual, torrential rain the entire visit. I'm sure the outdoor spaces were even more marvelous. We had a dinner for 7, and found the kitchen to be well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were welcoming. The stairs to the second floor are a bit steep (old house!!) so if you have someone with mobility issues in your family, give them the first floor bedroom!I would totally rent this house again for future stays in the area!

Cozy house with everything you need!

We loved our stay! We were meeting some friends in Lancaster, and this provided a good base. The house was just as cute as listed and was only 13 minutes from a grocery store. Maureen is great and communicative… highly recommend!

Maureen was amazing to deal with. We had some personal issues that came up before arriving. When I reached out to Maureen she responded quickly and worked with us to make sure the weekend stay was a success. The house was immaculate and the rural setting is beautiful.

Favorite place to stay!

This was our second time staying at this property. We love quaint home and country setting. The house is immaculate and full of charm. The host, Maureen, is so helpful with recommending places to visit and tips about the area. She is so thoughtful, leaving the porch light on and door unlocked for us when we arrived late.

Amish immersion

Loved every minute! Excellent location in the middle of Amish farms. The house was clean and comfortable. Maureen is extremely helpful and fun to talk with. Well equiped kitchen. The listing is accurate we look forward to staying here again!

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

My husband and I bought this property in 1990 because it was located next door to our home. This house and our home were originally built by the same family. The guest house was build in 1885 and ours was built in 1890. We have invested 30 years renovating the two properties and 95% of the work we have done ourselves. Some people golf; we renovate!
It was a residential rental home until 5 years ago. All our children are adults and do not live locally. We decided to make it into a guest house for them so when visiting they can spread out and relax with their children.
We have used VRBO type rentals for a number of years when traveling. So it was natural fit to welcome guests a few weeks a year to enjoy our rural farming location.
