Waypoint Cottage, one block from the beach!

Waypoint Cottage is a private, renovated, 1-bedroom home.... just one block to the sand! This air-conditioned unit is perfect for a couple getaway or working remotely in the SANDiego sunshine! Walking distance to all that the vibrant Ocean Beach (OB) community has to offer - restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, the OB Pier, and Sunset Cliffs! Off-street parking included.

The space:
Cozy cottage with private bedroom (queen size mattress) and bathroom. Living room couch is designed to double as a single sleeper. Simple, clean, bright, and fully-furnished with kitchenware and supplies.

The patio area in front of the unit is fully fenced, along with three neighboring cottages.

We have separate mini-split AC/heater units in the main living room and bedroom with individual adjustments.

Guest access:
There are four identical cottages on the property and each unit has a designated parking space in the alley behind the cottages. Depending on the size of other vehicles in the alley, parking can be tight … compact vehicles are recommended.

Other things to note:
Note: The entire OB neighborhood is under the airplane pathway so guests may experience some plane noise.

Great stay overall! The location is fantastic - just a block from the beach and an easy walk to restaurants and shops, which made everything really convenient. The cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed for a relaxing trip.

This was a perfect spot for a beach getaway! Cottage was spotlessly clean and well-maintained, kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals if desired—but it was also within easy walking distance to multiple restaurants, bars and coffee shops, which we enjoyed. Beach chairs, towels and umbrella were handy and it was easy to walk to the beach. Hosts were very responsive to questions and we appreciated the detailed guide with house rules, checkout procedures and local recommendations. One of the nicest VRBO experiences we’ve had—we look forward to coming back!

It was a great space for a quick weekend getaway!OB had a lot of great restaurants and plenty of sandy beach waterfront to enjoy.Ubers were easy to use to get to/from when we went exploring.

Nice size cottage for 2. Very clean on the inside. Liked the full size stove and fridge because i was able to cook when i wanted. Or could walk a few minutes and eat at a variety of restaurants. 1 block to beach was nice as well.

Easy to access Cottage and get location to town / Beach.No view is a drawback. Believe that something dead/died in the crawl space under the Cottage. Oder/smell very unpleasant.

Thank you for your feedback. This is the first time we learned of any odor concern, and we wish you had let us know during your stay so we could have addressed it immediately. We looked into this right away after your review. As noted in the listing, the cottage is about 1.5 blocks from the beach and offers convenient access, but it does not have a beach view. A super little cottage in an excellent position for what we required. My only concern was that somebody had the ability to open a locked door and enter on my last night hence 4 stars rather than 5. It was very scary. The owners responded immediately to my emails.

This was an unusual situation we’ve never encountered before where an unauthorized individual accessed the physical key box. We immediately looked into it and have now added several security layers to ensure this cannot happen again.

Perfect cottage getaway

We had such a great time staying here with our six month old baby. The included pack and play was wonderful, and dedicated parking was a huge plus. Lots of thoughtful touches in the property and mini split A/C option was great. The fridge has a water dispenser which was so handy! Bed was comfy, great water pressure. We appreciated access to beach chairs as well. We'd absolutely stay here again!

As advertised!

Great space and location. The owners were communicative and we were even able to check in early which was a big win. Very near the beach and we will definitely seek this rental out again in future. By far our best rental experience in OB. Thank you!

Mold and water damage. The space and location was great but the unit had a clear mold smell and mold on the ceilings of the bedroom, closet, window sills, and water damage to the bathroom cabinets and bedside table. The toilet paper being stored in the cabinets smelled strongly of mold. We had headaches and congestion which relieved as soon as we got to a new and clean space after.
