Bedrooms

Two cozy bedrooms each feature a plush queen-size bed for restful sleep. Air conditioning in both bedrooms — a rare luxury on this side of the island — ensures cool, comfortable nights.

Two full bathrooms provide convenience and comfort. One features a walk-in shower and a custom-molded, hand-painted floor resembling a flowing lava pattern—a nod to the island’s volcanic roots, while the other includes a relaxing jetted tub. Fresh towels and toiletries are provided for your stay.

Beautiful and unique place on a beautiful piece of land. Quick drive from Hilo. Excellent amenities. We loved hanging out on the front porch. Will stay here again next time I’m in Hilo!

Erin is amazing and very responsive. The house is well thought out and has everything we need. Amazing home that reminded us of Village back home. Pure rainforest experience with many fruit trees. We enjoyed fresh coconuts and sugarcane.The chickens are very friendly & woke us on time daily :) Had a really good time. Best place to stay if planning to visit Volcano National Park.

Rain forest paradise

We loved staying at this property! It was like a little jungle house. The amenities were great. The geckos, lizards and frogs added to the charm. Bring your bug spray.

If you are looking for a quiet and cozy place to just relax and take in the beauty, this is a place to call "home" while on vacation! The owner was always in communication with us for any of our needs and accommodations. Great place!

We had a fun time here! Was close to all that we wanted to see. Lovely nights out on the lanai for games and meals. Thankful for the air conditioning. Loved that we had privacy, but still well located. Was small, but had everything we needed. Even used the yoga mats! Would definitely come again.

If you want isolation this is the place. You can't see or hear anyone or anything as it sits back off the road. Very peaceful.

Quaint cottage style tropical jungle style accommodation.

Cool cottage style jungle location. Good comms from Erin in checkin/checkout process. Amenities in unit as advertised including bbq, AC and w/d. Place can get quite hot during the day, but just open the doors and ceiling fan and hang out on the deck. Experienced some issues post check in and during our stay which Erin addressed as best as possible, given the circumstances.

Directions to property

This was a great place to stay. Info is 100 % accurate, everything was there. I must have miss the directions on getting there. Here is my input for directions: Leaving airport turn left at light (hwy 11). Go apx 7 miles to (hwy 130) at light turn left. Go 6 miles to Showers Dr. at light turn left and go 3 streets down turn right to address. Hidden drive needs some sort of marker. Again GREAT place !!!

Lovely get away.

My friends and I attended the Merrie Monarch Hula Competition in Hilo this year and wanted somewhere quiet to stay from all the choas. This property situated 20 mins out of Hilo was perfect for us. Settled in the lush green land of Keeau, this house offered everything you could need for a private getaway. Our host Erin was awesome for going beyond and getting us into our vrbo, despite the time differences and computer error. We clearly were unprepared for what we encountered but Erin gave us that easy check-in/ check-out vibe. I highly recommend this property to anyone and everyone. It's beautiful, quiet, secluded and perfect for anyone under the sun.

Perfect Getaway

We stayed in Maui for a week before coming to the big island and I think we got the best of both worlds by staying here. Maui seemed busy and crowded and we stayed right by the beach, this rental was the perfect place to escape to after all that hustle. It's an acre of tropical paradise where you feel like there's no one else around and I finally felt like I could relax. The first thing I did was just sit on the porch and listen to the birds and enjoy all the green beauty around me. The place was very clean and had everything that we needed, and the location was great for visiting Volcanoes National Park, which was high on our list of things to do. The cliffs were only a 10min drive down the road so we saw a spectacular sunrise in the morning, and there are some amazing beaches just a few minutes further down the road. I would highly recommend staying here for the perfect Hawaii getaway.

This was the second time my wife and I stayed here, and it was just as nice as in 2024. While it did rain quite a bit this time (not surprising for this area!) we still made use of the grill and firepit daily. We had a few special requests, like yoga mats and a clothes-drying rack, that Erin and Dane took care of quickly. We found the bathrooms very nice, with large mirrors, plenty of counter space, and the master bath having an interesting simulated lava floor.It's a rural area, and we saw plenty of birds, geckos, coqui frogs, chickens, and a couple mongooses wandering through. The neighborhood roosters will go off in the morning, but that let us not waste any daylight hours. Mosquitoes were not too bad, and we were able to eat outside every day. The WiFi was very good, and I could take care of some work emergencies on a remote desktop without problems.Overall, it was a nice place to spend a couple relaxed weeks. We would definitely come again the next time we're in the area.

We loved renting this “jungle house” for the weekend! It was the perfect location in between Hilo, Mauna Kea, Akaka falls, and Kīlauea. The property was very well labeled and documented so figuring out the operations of the house was a breeze. The host was super responsive and the best ever! The fresh fruit trees, avacado tree, tree frog sounds all added to the lore of this home. Highly highly recommend! We stayed with our kids for a long weekend and caught Kīlauea episode #49! Thanks for having us!!

Our family really enjoyed our stay at this property. Loved being surrounded by the beauty of the tropical plants. Enjoyed a cup of coffee on the porch every morning in our pajamas without the neighbors seeing us. Close to the sights we wanted to visit. Volcanoes National park and Hilo attractions. Only thing I would recommend is an additional porch swing. Thank you, would highly recommend.
