This historic beach cottage is perched directly on the sand in Montecito’s exclusive Miramar neighborhood. A five-minute walk down the beach leads you to the Rosewood Miramar resort offering spa treatments, beach services, and a Michelin-starred restaurant. A short drive lands you in downtown Santa Barbara for more award-winning dining and shopping options.
This home dates back to the early 1900s and was originally a “day shack” for sun worshipping beach goers to take refuge on hot summer days. Enter on the upper level with a unique pitched ceiling and skylights with large bay windows centered on the ocean. The Living and Dining Rooms meld together and are anchored by an open Kitchen extended by a deck that features glass railings for unobstructed views.
The lower level rooms were designed to feel like the staterooms on a yacht. Please note that the 3rd guest room with the bunk beds has to be accessed by the 2nd guest bedroom. This is a great set up for families but not for couples traveling together.
Please note that during certain seasons and weather patterns, there isn’t always a sandy beach directly in front of the home. However, a short walk will offer a sandy place to relax and kick off your shoes.
This property was just lovely. We arrived at high tide and it felt like we were practically in the ocean. The house is unique and beautifully decorated in a way that reflects the area. Updated appliances and bathrooms. There were views from every window. It was minutes away from the Rosewood Miramar Beach Hotel where we dined at Caruso's, a Michelin Star restaurant. There are other great dining places nearby, as well. If you have the opportunity to stay at this beautiful house, don't hesitate......it's worth it.

Super small bedrooms
This place is really cute and charming and is in a great location, but the bedrooms are crazy small. Like our dog couldnt even turn around between the beds and the walls in the two kids' rooms, she had to back out. The kids' rooms have zero place for clothing as well - no dressers, closets, etc. We had to pile our suitcases in the hallway. Also, while its pet-friendly, which was a huge plis for us initially, it turns out theres no ideal place to take your pet out to go potty, esp at night. This is a cute peoperty, but i was expecting to be able to at least have a place for our clothes and was disappointed by the experience. And when i called to tell them we were checking out early and that i was unhappy and wanted to talk to someone, they never called me back. I hate leaving less than five star reviews, but i also want future renters to know what to expect.
