Luxury Townhome - Views - Ski in/Out - End Unit - Fire Pit

Our 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath, 2,600 square foot ski-in/ski-out townhome (Unit 18) is everything you would expect from a luxury townhome. The townhome features a main living space as well as a loft, with the usual amenities you would expect in a luxury townhome: 3 TV's, WIFI, 2 gas fireplaces and a gas grill. The home is ideal for 2 or 3 families to share. Sleeping areas are private and self-contained with views from every room and plenty of parking with a 2 car garage (one parking space is available in the garage) as well as 2 additional parking spaces in front. There are two ski lifts within immediate walking distance from the front door of the townhome and access to the Nordic ski-area is also conveniently nearby. Hiking trails abound in the millions of acres of the pristine San Juan National Forest. Explore mountain biking, backpacking, fly-fishing, hiking, four-wheeling, and nearly every other imaginable high alpine recreational pursuit directly out the front door.

The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. For an additional (and optional) 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility.

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

The easy access to this property was only the beginning of a great VRBO stay. The directions and overall communication were excellent. The home was clean, comfortable, and so very close to the ski lift. We loved staying at this place.

Awesome Stay

Great location, plenty of room for our family, parking was adequate. Kitchen lacked some needed utensils, we bought what we needed and left it for the next person. Had a great time.

Pefect locaiton for beginning Skiers

Stayed here in Feb 2024 with my Sister's family and my own. We had several young, beginner skiers and this location could not have been better. The bunny slopes were mere feet away. The cabin was spotless and offered more than enough beds and bathrooms for our needs. Would definitely stay again.

Just minutes away we enjoyed the Alpine slide, the scenic chair lift, gold panning and small shops. Andy and Erika were very helpful and responsive.The Wi-Fi was pretty slow and if you park in the garage, you can hardly go around the car to get into the house. It's a 2 car garage, but a large truck is parked in. We decided to park our 2 cars in front of the garage.Thank you for a great vacation!

The property very well, excellent location, everything very good, but all the dishes very dirty, it is disgusting to see spoons, glasses, cups, all very dirty.

Skiing vacation

The property was beautiful and as pictured. Wonderful views out the living room/dining room windows. It is truly ski-in/out. You see the Graduate lift from the master bedroom. To ski, you simply take a short (50 foot) walk across the parking lot, put your skis on and ski down to the Graduate lift. Since all tickets are purchased online and picked up at the ticket office or ski rental, it is good to know that there is a ticket office at the bottom of the hill. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. The loft was private but you had to use the bathroom in the bedroom or go downstairs to the half bath. Negatives were that the dining room table is rather small for a 4+ bedroom home, the gas stove and family room gas fireplace are rather temperamental, and the dishwasher (even when using the additive that was supplied and basically scrubbing the dishes before use) was ineffective. Even with these negatives I would rent there again. The staff was helpful and easy to access.

Reviewer Comments: Rented a 4 bdrm home for ski/fly fishing vacation. 1st night fixing dinner, we have 2 of 4 burners going and oven at 350 degrees baking chicken. The range malfunctions and shuts off. We were able to get the burners to light, but no oven to cook chicken, which everyone likes served medium-rare, right? The solution from Durango Collection-VRC was for us to walk our 350 degree glass corningware dishes across snow and ice to an empty unit 8 sections away. No Thanks. I see how that ends up, with us on our backs covered in hot chicken, cream sauce, and glass. Then 2 nights later, every member of house was awakened to smoke detectors going off in unison due to a low battery, which continued for almost an hour until we were able to determine which battery was low. We did this by removing all the detectors off the ceiling until it stopped. No discount was offered and instead, they charged us a pet fee for a Seizure Response Medical Service Dog, which was discussed at the time of reservation with Durango Collection-VRC. I specifically asked for a manager to call me and 4 days later, NO phone call, NO discount. AND STILL NO REFUND FOR MY HUSBAND'S MEDICAL SERVICE DOG.

Nice, well-stocked contemporary Condo

Alpenglow 18 is a very clean, upscale contemporary four bedroom unit. The kitchen is stocked with about anything a family would need with plenty of utensils, china, electronic appliances (some that I have never seen in other condos). The dishwasher however did not do a good job and we had to hand wash plates to get them clean. The bedrooms are clean and very comfortable. The fact that they are separated on three floors (master on three, second master on two, and two smaller ones on level one) is a plus for privacy and quiet. The two car garage on level one was convenient to the kitchen area upstairs on level two. This unit worked well for us since we were not skiing but playing golf in the four corners area. The unit is down the hill from the base ski area and the six person ski lift up the mountain at the base. All in all we were very pleased with the ambiance of the unit.

Beautiful updated home

Great location and plenty of room for the kids. The gameroom upstairs was a major plus. Kids played upstairs and adults enjoyed the main living. We walk to all the amenities on the mountain - pool, roller coaster and slide! Great fun, would stay again!

Purgatory/Durango #18 Winter Solstice drive

Beautiful, spacious condo within a few hundred feet of Purgatory ski lift. The most completely furnished kitchen of any condo we have ever stayed in. Felt like we had walked into a cozy home that was occupied by a large family. Full size washer/dryer, two fireplaces, plenty of seating for meals. Very nice balcony with fire pit and large grill. Only problem we found was that the third floor bath spigot did not work. Bear visited patio so best to keep glass doors (not just the screen) closed on base floor.

Possibly one of the best locations on the mountain. Literally ski in and out, to the front door. No need for overnight ski storage! Bedroom configuration was good with several kids. Overall a good find

Great location to ski Purgatory

High expectations met! Convenient to the slopes and local restaurants. Management was easy to work with. Property was generally clean, though some silverware needed attention.
