Imagine the Caribbean 50 years ago before chain hotels and condo developments when you could stroll to the beach or explore a relatively undeveloped island on golf cart. It exists today and it’s just a 10 minute passenger ferry ride from bustling Saint Thomas. Now picture yourself heading down to Honeymoon Beach (just a 5 minute walk from the house) to chill under a palm. If you get restless, there is everything from snorkeling to pickle ball to volleyball anchored by the famous “Dingy’s Beach Bar.” You may even catch a band Sunday afternoon. Rent a golf cart and head to Heidi’s on the hill top for amazing fish tacos. Explore other beaches on the island, an abandoned fort with tunnels and turrets then pick up some necessity groceries at WI mart and shop a cute art shop with a kid friendly icy/drink stand. Need to return to reality - explore Saint Thomas by day and retreat back to our quiet 500 acre island at night. This home is “old school” and is part of a 4 unit semi-attached compound and should not be considered a luxury accommodation. We have been rehabilitating the property for a year with many projects in the works and have made it comfortable for our family but it may not meet your vacation standards. Keep in mind the air conditioning is only in the bedrooms.

This property overlooks the beautiful Honeymoon Beach. It is easy to access and has a wide open concept. Its AC units are only in the bedrooms, but with all the windows and the constant breeze it was always comfortable. George’s communication was fantastic and the property’s manager Sylvia was awesome. We had a great time!

An amazing week on Water Island! Fantastically convenient location with serene views overlooking Honeymoon Beach and St. Thomas. Air conditioned bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. George was friendly, responsive and accommodating. The on-site hostess, Sylvie, was very welcoming and communicative.

This was a wonderful vrbo stay. The on-site hostess, Sylvie, was fantastic! She provided lots of extras for enjoying our stay, like snorkel and floating equipment. She was very knowledgeable about the island, snorkeling, sightseeing. And was just a genuinely nice fun woman. The house isn't fancy, but it was spacious, beds were comfortable, and the house was very clean. The kitchen has everything you can imagine that you'll need. And, if something is missing, your host will try to get it for you. There is a pool and barbecue in the back yard. The location is great, short walk to shave ice store, Hollywood Beach, Limestone Beach, Dinghys, and even the pier and WImart. Though we did rent carts most days. Other pluses were the washing machine, drying line, abundance of towels, good wifi, books, puzzles, and games. Things to know: lots of mosquitoes on the island, and boats drop anchor on Hollywood Beach and play loud music. Stargazing from the fort is just as good as stargazing from Hollywood Beach. The owner, George, provided great communication and helped us prepare for the trip.

Honeymoon Beach Views!!

Wonderful Accommodations and views of Honeymoon Beach during our early morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Beach and Dinghy's only a 3-4 minute walk down the hill. Beautifully appointed Chef's kitchen with spacious bar/counter tops, and loads of cabinet space. Hubby cooked majority of meals and kitchen was such a welcome treat! The kitchen is open to the livingroom, dining room, and enclosed porch/sitting room. There is an outside screened porch for sitting and a washing macine to the far side of the screened porch. Lots of open space for family gatherings. There are two bedrooms with AC. The master bedroom was a great retreat at the end of our active, fun filled day. Loved the mattress! Also, first time sleeping beneath a real mosquetto net (a dream come true)!! Hubby enjoyed the 25 lb dumbbells, using them daily. Thanks for the beach chairs and the snorkel mask---Amazing experience swimming with the sea turtles in Honeymoon Bay! Suggestions:--Starlink Internet helpful, as once cruise ships arrive and dock in St Thomas, limited to no internet access--Loved the Thermocell. A supply of Thermocell propellant or Raid Flying Insect Spray helpful. --Loved our packed Britta filter to avoid purchase/carrying of water.George, thank you for offering your lovely home on VRBO! We had an incredible 12-day stay with life-long memories! We met many of Water Island's locals and greatly appreciate everyone's kinkindness!!! BLESSINGS! The Fishes!

Snug in the jungle

Loved the location, so close to the beach. All the jungle life was so fun to see and hear! (Except the mosquitos lol)George was amazing!

Excellent location

Just a quick walk to the beach. Very nice home and good communication. Had someone contact us to get groceries before hand and able to coordinate ride with luggage from Crown. Great views!! Just read all info, owner provides everything you need to know. We just missed the bring bug spray info but were able to purchase from WI Mart. Tortoises, friendly neighbor cats and again excellent view!

Great place

Had a great time and owner was always responsive to texs and emails also has a great contact person too help with cab ridess / boat rides etc also had the groceries ready upon our arrival to save the inconvenience of going ourselves.

Dream vacation

This island welcomed us with open arms. There were less than 200 people who lived here. We met the locals and hung out with them daily. Some asked us if we lived there because we didnt act like a typical tourist i will warn you, if you can not adapt to island life with only 2 places on the island to eat and 1 small mini mart, then dont stay here. You have to adapt to the surroundings as they have power outages frequently. But hey the beach was a 3 minute walk and i barely even stayed in the house. George was a great host and answered my texts and calls immediatelym loved the house it was a pleasure staying there.
