We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! House and property were so clean and nicely decorated and the location was perfect for ourselves and our young adults to spread out and go for a walk to the private beach or downtown!

We had a wonderful stay at this Cape Cod beach house! The home was spotless and very well maintained, which immediately made us feel comfortable and relaxed. The location couldn’t have been better — just a short walk to the beach and also very close to town, making it easy to enjoy both the shoreline and local shops and restaurants. It was the perfect balance of convenience and coastal charm. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and perfectly located getaway on the Cape!

Great location

This is our favorite Harwich port neighborhood and the home did not disappoint. We had more than enough room for our family of 5, it’s definitely a home 2 families could stay in. House was very clean when we arrived and we even ended up staying a few extra days. Great trip!

Family Vacation at Harwich Port, MA

The property had plenty of space for my husband, myself and my son’s family. Our two teenage grandchildren enjoyed the “garage” living space and proximity to the beach. We all were able to enjoy the space together and our privacy.

Good location lacking upkeep

The property is in a great location but was dirty, dated and needed attention to detail before being rented. Many of the blankets were soiled, torn and unusable. There was mold in the upstairs bathroom and there were spiders and cobwebs throughout. There was great potential but the house was not up to being rented for the amount being charged.

Great house for a family stay

My husband and I rented this cute home last minute and chose it because of it's location to the private beach at the end of the road. While the house was too big for what we needed, we could imagine a combined family gathering here. so much space, clean and well laid out. The only downside was the size of the showers. The upstairs tub shower was tiny! It reminded me of the scene in Elf when he was taking a shower and his head was sticking out over the rail. Small detail and it would be fine for shorter folks and kids - it was rather funny. The stall shower in the downstairs bath was better but still a bit narrow. I would highly recommend this home for a family stay. Not only is it close to the beach, it is within walking distance or a very short drive to the center where shops and restaurants are. It is also a short ride to the Cape Cod Rail Trail which is wonderful!

Almost there

This is tough for me to do as NEVR was wonderfully proactive in responding to any issues that came up for us. We are actually a very low maintenance family, but issues came up for us that made the stay in the house just bearable. When we entered the home the house was very musty and had smells of mildew, something my 2nd of 3 daughters is very allergic to. It took a day and a half of keeping windows open and AC on all day to get the mustiness to clear. There is mold on the 2nd floor bathroom shower tiles. The oven did not work. The kettle had tea bags and mold with water in it probably for at least a week which lead us to think how thorough cleaners really clean the house. The outdoor grill grates were very dirty and needed a good scrub down. The washer control was broken. Waited for pliers to be delivered so we could use it. The bedroom suite off the garage is just not desirable walking through a dusty garage to get to your bedrooms. The remaining wall paper and rugs just absorbed and retained humidity. Even after getting the rugs re-shampooed, we had to wait 5 to 6 hours before they were dry. The property is almost there though. It has cute curb appeal. It was great to have all new windows and doors to the home. Opening up the kitchen to the mudroom was a great move. The outdoor shower was also a good move. But the house needs a complete refresh for the amount of rent that is being asked for. Take down all wall paper and repaint. Remove any remaining carpet and put new wood floors in. Replace all toilets with elongated bowls. Round bowls were so small that it really made it uncomfortable to use the facilities. Overall lighting to house needs to be brighter as the house seemed very dark - it's nice to have the option to have bright rooms or keep them dim with the table and floor lamps. Update all furniture as it all felt old and sweated on - this includes bed covers, seat cushions and the dark stains that were on the pillows in the master bedroom. Refresh kitchen cabinetry - the interior of the cabinets just felt sticky and not properly cleaned. Convert garage into anything more finished - covered deck, screened porch, enclosed family room open to mudroom and kitchen. anything would be better than the unsightly garage. Consider a front porch or screened porch accessed off either the front door and/or the Dining Room. This room would be so wonderful capturing the rising morning sun. Hope this helps owner improvements to consider.

New England Vacation Rentals: Thank you for your kind words about our company. We do our very best to make sure our descriptions are detailed and accurate. You did mention to us that you really didn't get a chance to fully read the description and we think perhaps that is why this was not really a good fit. We have had many repeats over the years who understood from the photos and description that the home was older and yet the location was premiere being walk to beach and town. People also have appreciated the rate due to the fact it will sleep 10 people and they can share it with 2 families. The owner has made updates over the years and is continuing to do so. Thanks for your feedback- we will pass it on. We are glad that you stayed and allowed us to have the rugs cleaned and that we were able to get you a couple days credit from the owner. All in all we hope you made some nice memories with your family and we would look forward to the opportunity to work with you again to find just the right vacation home for you.

House had the perfect layout and backyard for our stay. Outdoor shower was very unclean but we cleaned out and after that the stay was great. Would recommend!
