Picadome Pool Getaway

Quiet home, with swimming pool, located in the heart of Lexington near UK, hospitals, schools, shopping, and downtown. Quirky, yet comfortable, the house is furnished with a mix of handcrafted furniture, antiques, and modern pieces. Modern kitchen appliances round out the picture.

It features Living/dining room, Kitchen, Den/TV room, 2 bathrooms, and 3 bedrooms. All rooms are on one level; washer/dryer are in the unfinished basement. There is no wall-to-wall carpet, but several area rugs. The house can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people.

The house also has a cement in-ground swimming pool that was installed in the 1950s. It was their pride and joy for decades, and it's still fully functional and a lot of fun in summer, with depth varying from 3.5 to about 9 feet (no diving board). ALL SWIMMING IS AT GUEST'S OWN RISK. (The swimming pool is NOT HEATED and is open seasonally, depending on weather and other variables. Moreover, we cannot guarantee that it will always be usable; for instance, after a heavy storm the chemical balance sometimes gets out of whack. We stay on top of it pretty well, though.)

There is a rather large wood deck adjacent to the pool, with an outside table and chairs, and a gas grill is provided for cooking out.

We provide bed linens, towels and soap, but not toothpaste or shampoo. IF YOU PLAN TO USE THE PULL OUT SOFA BED, LET US KNOW BEFORE YOU ARRIVE SO WE CAN BE SURE THE SHEETS ARE THERE! (The cleaning lady frequently forgets to leave extra linens & towels.)

Great location - in general and for our needs. Older house but so are all the houses in that area. It was clean and exactly as shown in the pictures. Anthony was quick to respond with any questions we had.

Lexington vacation

Convenient location for what we wanted to do. Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter were within driving distance. Also the pool gave the kids some exercise.

Nice property with fantastic and clean pool in the garden. The equipment inside especially in the kitchen and the matresses is a bit old and did not work properly. However, the pool compensated for almost everything.

Very nice

We had a great stay. The house was very clean & comfortable. The mattresses were very nice. The neighborhood was quiet & relaxed. No complaints from us.

Nice stay in Lexington

Nice, small house in a great location in Lexington. The pool was large enough for our family to play around in and the beds were extended comfortable. Our only hiccup was a glitch in getting our check-in information from VRBO, but the owner was easily contacted for the information.

Pretty Good

We really enjoyed this adorable little home. The pool was fantastic. Additional towels or access to laundry facilities would have been helpful. Limited towels for 4 people to shower and swim for 6 days. The grill was nice to have but we had to replace the propane tank. The home is in a nice area and central to many of the activities we had planned.

Family time

They had everything you need. Very comfortable beds. Tv in every bedroom was great since the kid age grouped was 16 to 4. Swimming pool was wonderful!

Pool Place

The pool was a great addition. Weather was 85+ all 3 days. Convenient to campus and downtown. Both less than 10-minute drive. Quite neighborhood. 4-5 different places to gather and visit in and on the property. The owner and Anthoney was great and easy to get a hold of.

Amazing family vacation

The home is absolutely perfect. The listing accurate and the neighborhood quiet! For my little family, this was the perfect location for our getaway. The home is large and comfortable with plenty of room. TVs in every bedroom! The POOL! Oh my. Perfect in every way. If we are ever in Lexington again, we will be back!

Weekend stay

House was as described and in good location for football weekend. Kitchen does have an apparent ant issue so be aware of that if you are squeamish about ants. There were ants out each morning despite not having any food etc out on the counter. Overall good stay though.

Disappointed

We stayed here for the NCAA tournament. Checked in on Wednesday and left Sunday morning. First, the furniture is very old and very uncomfortable. The lighting is terrible, especially in the bedrooms. Only one side table by the beds. No coffee and for that matter no real amenities offered. I would stay Way until the owner updates the furniture, lighting and offers. Couple common amenities.

The air conditioner did not work after it was confirmed (2) days on property. The basement floor was wet and musty not conducive for doing laundry. The dishwasher leaked and owner did replace the day after being notified. The lighting in back porch was poor and brought to the attention of owner and was treated as not being interested in correcting the same less than iapproach was taken when mentioning the lighting around the pool deck and our concerns about safety.All the windows on the property could not be opened to let air in to cool the property that was registering between 84-89 degrees. The owner was approached about providing (3) fans to help in the bedrooms and living but refused saying “no” to a discount for completing our stay with the assistance of the fans providing some relief. The early evening after (3) days on the property when it was determined that the AC repair couldn’t be replaced in time for completion of rental a full refund was offered if checked out by 12:00 but a later email changed it to 10:00am. The property was occupied for 35% of time as originally booked for not in proportion of refund that was processed.I would like to request a full refund because the property description was not accurate and furthermore the owner’s rep ) was very curt towards my wife andownewas dismissive and disinterested in listening to our concerns. Furthermore the expectation of packing up and relocating to receivce the full refund was not reasnable!

I lived in this neighborhood for decades. Its close to UK, the hospitals, shopping, and restaurants. Its also close to Harrodsburg Rd, New Circle, making it easy to get anywhere in town with ease.

You'll be very close to everything on Southland Drive, the 1950s shopping district of Lexington. Beyond that, all the businesses on Nicholasville Road are easily accessible, and both Beaumont Center and downtown are a quick drive. It's relatively close walking distance to Kroger Field..
