The Bloom House

Beautifully restored Historic brick Cape Cod style home built in 1850 with room for fourteen adults. Walkable to Stone Hill or downtown Hermann, and the home is also on the Hermann Trolley route, so getting around is a breeze.

You'll love the comfortable beds, large living room space, and fully-equipped kitchen and coffee, everything you need for an amazing weekend.

The Bloom Suite was recently built onto the back of the house (last picture). If you’d like to book both spaces together, message me!

We enjoyed our stay at the Bloom House with our 5 kids. Like a lot of the homes in Hermann, this one has many historic features intact which brings both charm and challenge when compared to newer homes. The upstairs was perfect for multiple kids to use with spacious bedrooms and a bathroom. The main level has two bedrooms, spacious living room, and kitchen/dining. The beds were ok but not great quality. The bathroom downstairs didn’t have a lot of storage and was guarded with a sliding barn house style door so was not very private. The kitchen was stocked with basic needs but lacked space and storage to cook for our family of 7. We brought a portable propane grill to supplement our cooking needs which worked out great on the back patio! The outdoor space was utilized daily by our crew. It is a little awkward sharing the outdoor space with renters of the Bloom Suite but we never had any issues. Overall it was a great value for the space and we would recommend it for anyone with a large group/family!

Hello, thank you for taking the time to give your feedback on our property. Guest feedback is essential in making the Bloom House the best rental experience it can be. One of the downstairs bed did have a malfunction but we have replaced the box spring and it is much better. We hope you consider staying at the Bloom House again for your future trips to Hermann.

Property worked out very well for our group of 7 women. There was a problem with the air-conditioning, but the owner responded immediately and the problem was fixed. We had a wonderful time!

girls weekend

Loads of sleeping and hangout space for the 6 adults for our Girls Weekend. Very nice that we each had our own (comfy) bed. The kitchen had the basics.

Recently stayed at the Bloom House for the weekend with some friends. Short walk to downtown! Check-in was easy, and not a lot you have to do for check-out. Parking was right behind the house and had several spaces. The back patio was nice! Plenty of towels and toilet paper were supplied for our group. Just a couple of downfalls: the people staying in the Bloom Suite came home at 3 am and were really loud. It is attached to the back of the house, which I didn't know about till we checked in. The living room & kitchen furniture were also not in great shape. Lots of tears & stains. The shower curtain in the downstairs bathroom was gross. The soap supplied in the bathrooms seemed old. There were no dishcloths, and the sponge there was very gross, making it hard to wash dishes that couldn't go in the dishwasher. It was a big house in a great location, but I don't think it was worth what we paid for 2 nights. Needs some updating.

Hello, thank you for sharing your experience and feedback. We truly believe all guest feedback is valuable and gives us a chance to be the best rental we can be. Shortly after your stay we took action based on your feedback and replaced the dining room chairs and rug as well as cleaned out the soap dispensers in the shower and replaced the curtains and liners. All of those things were not up to our standards and we were sure to fix them as soon as we could. We very much appreciate you including the positive aspects of your stay in your review and hope that since making these upgrades you consider staying with us again on your next trip to Hermann.

Fun Friends Trip

Overall the space was very quaint for an older home. The property owner was very responsive when we had concerns about spiders and the leak on the toliet. She sent the cleaning lady right over and she addressed the issues we had. I was disappointed the outdoor area was used only for parking as the weeds had grown up round it and it was unusable for any hangout area. The living room area was very comfortable.

While the patio is the main source of outdoor seating and the rocks are an option for additional parking if needed, we plan to address the overgrown weeds immediately and maintenance them better moving forward. Super easy check-in, the property was as described, fully stocked with everything we needed and easy access via car to downtown. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the sulfur smell with the water. It kind of smells like a dry trap, but seemed to be influenced by the torrential rain we got the first night. It was not bad the next day. We appreciated that the host mentioned it in the check in book that was onsite though - it kept us from worrying and feeling the need to contact them. The mattresses were not the comfiest, however they served their purpose. The lawn was slightly overgrown and there is a for sale sign in the yard. This was not a huge deal, but I feel is worth mentioning as we were hopeful there would not be any showings while we were there lol. I highly suggest utilizing the trolley service - they were very laid back and picked us up from the house and returned us after a long day of wine tasting. Zydeco has amazing food options for those with dietary restrictions and we loved espresso laine for coffee. Parking was not an issue, but is definitely limited if your party is larger and someone is staying in the attached suite. Check out was super easy and stress free! Overall, our stay was exactly what we needed it to be and we had a fantastic time!

That’s a great point about including the for sale sign in the check in message so guests are reassured there will be no showings during their stay. For the lawn, the abundance of rain the last few weeks really increased the rate the grass was growing, we were sure to get that taken care of after your checkout. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you consider staying with us again for any future trips to Hermann!
