Calm Waters at The Retreat at Water's Edge

You wake to still water, walk down to the fishing dock, and push a kayak out before anyone else is up. Calm Waters is a lakefront tiny home at The Retreat at Water's Edge with a hot tub, a fire pit and mountain views from the porch, 50 minutes from Tims Ford State Park.

This one suits two couples, a small family, or anyone who wants the water close enough to hear it.

Three queen beds sleep six: a master bedroom, a guest bedroom, and a loft reached by stairs. Two full bathrooms, each with a combination tub and shower, mean nobody waits. The kitchen opens onto the living and dining space with a stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, pod coffee maker, toaster, blender, ice maker, kitchen island and wine glasses. Smart TVs are in the living room, the master bedroom and the loft. There is a laptop-friendly workspace, a washer and dryer, central heat and air, and ceiling fans.

Outside, an uncovered deck carries the hot tub and outdoor dining, a charcoal grill and a fire pit sit in a private yard, and two kayaks come with the home along with lake access.

Water's Edge sits on Tims Ford Lake outside Lynchburg. 50 minutes to Tims Ford State Park, 60 minutes to Jack Daniel's Distillery, 37 minutes to the Lynchburg square.

What is included: linens, towels, basic soaps, paper towels and toilet paper, the two kayaks, the hot tub, free parking, and keypad entry available 24 hours a day. Firewood and charcoal are not included, but you are welcome to bring your own or buy a bundle from Retreat Vacations.

Lovely lakeside get away

We loved the chance to get away and stay here at the Calm Waters house. We spent so much time outdoors since we had beautiful weather. It was fun to kayak and be in the stillness of the lake. And we loved the outdoor space with the BBQ, spa and fire pit.

Amazing Again

This is our 3rd time staying here. It is perfect for our family of 4 with 2 avid fishermen. They added 2 more kayaks since our last visit which was such a great surprise that all 4 of us could go out together. There is nothing better than a quiet morning with a book and coffee on the porch overlooking the lake. Thank you all for another great stay! We will be back.

Relaxing, breath taken views and all I expected.

The property was everything we expected and more. Clean, nicely decorated, plenty of accommodation and the lake view was so peaceful. Each morning the beautiful large porch extended our experience where we had our coffee in the morning and dinner at night. We share memorable conversation and can’t wait to return.

The tiny home on the lake was a beautiful place for us to spend our anniversary! It was serene and quiet! The home was spacious and so clean. The back porch overlooking the lake was our favorite spot! The weather was perfect and we spent most of our time on the back deck… eating, playing, games, reading, etc.… we also enjoyed the hot tub and the kayaks that were stored under the house as well as the hiking that was close by to us. What a great getaway!

Girls getaway

My five college friends came for a two day getaway, and it was perfect! Plenty of room and the house was clean and decorated so cute! We hiked, ate and enjoyed ourself completely. You will love this cute tiny house!

Steel Magnolias girls trip

My besties and I stayed in this beautiful cozy home and couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay. From the cozy vibes, to having all the home amenities you can imagine, and the beautiful views we cannot say enough good about this place. The only bad thing we can say is we didn’t book enough time. Can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful view

The cabin was very clean and well laid out. The view of the water from the porch is what we came for and it didn’t disappoint. Beautiful! I loved sitting out there drinking my morning coffee and watching the ducks glide across the water. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was great! I wanted to give 5 stars but we weren’t able to use the hot tub because of too many chemicals. The minute we got in, our eyes started stinging and watering and we had to get out. We requested for someone to come out and remediate the issue so we could use it the next night, but they just offered to let us move to a different property. We were only staying 2 nights so we didn’t want to spend the short time we had left moving. The ice maker also didn’t work so we had to buy and bag of ice. Other than those 2 things, it was a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend if those two issues are corrected.

Ladies’ Annual Retreat

This property exceeded expectations with its perfect, clean interior and excellent amenities, including a hot tub and lake access for paddle boarding. The coveted deck is also a beautiful space for group meals or just listening to the sounds of frogs at night. Leaving this one feeling recharged!

Above and Beyond Expectations

We can’t say enough good things about our stay! (Our only regret is not staying longer). Beautiful scenery, beautiful house. Everything was clean, beds were very comfortable, the house is stocked with everything you could possibly need (high chairs, baby gates, even an air fryer and crock pot!) They blew us away with how great this place is. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Incredible getaway in the calm waters

We were seeking a calm, get away from our busy every day life. This tiny home brought us the tranquility and peace that was necessary and what we were craving. From the attention to detail to the location, this house had everything! It definitely left us with many memories and has become one of our favorite family getaways. Perfect family getaway!

This place was perfect for our family of 4! No one wanted to leave after our 3 days were up. We enjoyed the area during the day, but spent our mornings and afternoon/evenings at this quiet hideaway. We fished, had fires every night, enjoyed the hot tub, and Mom enjoyed reading 2 books on the porch rocking chair! The house was incredibly well stocked, I was so surprised. It was a breeze to cook dinner, even did a load of laundry after the kids got their clothes dirty hiking. We have already been plotting out when we are coming back. Next time we are bringing kayaks!
