In 30 years of coming to the Vineyard, this was our first time staying in Aquinnah. The peaceful and secluded location of this property, the lovely front and back yard, and the proximity to the beach, did not disappoint.
We spent a lot of time on the spacious front deck reading, enjoying coffee and meals, or just soaking up the sun. While there wasn’t much of an ocean view from the deck chairs, the sky lighting up during sunset was spectacular. And what a treat to be able to walk to Philbin Beach.
Inside, the house was comfortable, light-filled, and cozy. We appreciated the exceptionally well-equipped kitchen and abundant high-end linens / towels. The house had a nice selection of books, games, and puzzles. The master bedroom was spacious and comfortable….leaving the sleeping porch door open at night let in the sound of waves.
We did not at all mind the size of the kitchen, but it is in need of a facelift. The house had missing and/or broken screens in the front door and master bedroom. Additionally, the two zero-gravity deck chairs pictured as brand new in the listing were broken and completely useless.
That said, the property is very pleasant and Lori is a terrific host. We would definitely stay there again.
