Your hosts, Carlos & Carminda Fernandes, were both born in Portugal and at an early age both, along with their respective families, immigrated to the United States. They later met and married in West Palm Beach, Florida. Carminda & Carlos now live in Northern Virginia with their 4 children. Both are native Portuguese speakers and take great pride in teaching their children both their native language and the rich Portuguese culture and traditions that they both grew up with.

With more than 200,000 Euros of improvements over the last 10 years, Vila Dom Carlos at Foz do Arelho has been beautifully renovated and enhanced.
