Wow, wow, wow - highly recommended especially for families with young children!

This was a special holiday to celebrate my 40th birthday with my family, my parents and my sister and her family. We booked it a long, long time ago and it was well worth the wait! Carlos was excellent at communicating with me prior to arrival. He provided details of a taxi company with whom we booked transfers from the airport as well as giving advice about the local area. I agree with Carlos that if you wanted to do any local sightseeing you would need to hire a car. However, as we had young children with us (4 and 6) we didn't think we'd stray too far from the villa so we didn't do so. The villa is on a hill and has a wonderful view but this also means it's about a 20-25 min walk to the town or to the beach. However, there are lots of bikes available and we regularly rode into town to get provisions from the local shops. The villa itself is absolutely fantastic and has everything you could possibly need. It was extremely clean and there is air conditioning in every bedroom as well as the lounge which was very welcome! From a family point of view it is great because it is extremely safe for children. There are electric gates to the property and a lockable glass fence all the way around the pool. It also has its own little playground and some crazy golf holes which were really good for keeping the children entertained in the evenings when the pool was "closed" for the day! All in all we had a wonderful holiday and my family were very impressed with the villa. My four-year-old is asking every day to go on holiday on the aeroplane again.....if only it were that easy! Thank you Carlos for a fabulous holiday and some wonderful memories.

Perfect villa for families with young families

I can’t recommend this villa highly enough. We were a party of 8 adults and 4 very young children and we all loved the villa. It’s well laid out with relatively evenly sized bedrooms (all with private bathrooms) and great open plan spaces for everyone to convene together. The views are spectacular and the garden perfect for allowing little ones to explore. The pool is heated and there is a well equipped play area to entertain the children. Eating outdoors whilst watching the sun set over the sea was a highlight. Carlos was very approachable and quick to answer all emails. He was on hand on our arrival and departure and was very helpful. A lovely villa in a lovely part of Portugal. Highly recommend and hope to visit again in the future.

Gorgeous views and great facilities

We stayed recently and found the villa to be as exceptional as the photos led us to believe. We were grandparents, parents and 2 children and we all enjoyed the heated pool, which was vital as the weather was a little on the cold side!! The views are amazing, and the house is equipped with all every day living amenities to make staying there easy. My only criticism would be is that the kids playground isn't fully fenced in and my kids kept on running up the driveway, but that may be more a function of my kids being naughty! Carlos was very helpful in the lead up to our stay making sure we had high chairs and cots as requested and when we arrived, showing us all the things we needed to know about our stay and where local amenities and attractions were on the (basic) map he provided. We would definitely stay again!

Excellent Villa

Our party of 11 enjoyed their stay very much. The villa provided excellent facilities for the children aged 3 to 14. The facilities for our disabled grandson were very good the hoists, special bed and walk in shower being added advantages we have not been able to find in other villas we have used. Because our grandson is confined to his wheelchair getting around in the area, which is very hilly was impossible. Fortunately Carlos had helpfully provided a taxi connection which could accommodate a wheelchair,and which was reasonably priced to take us to restaurants and the beach. Because of the surrounding area we still found it necessary to hirer a small car for shopping and to transport some of the rest of the family. One small thing that would have helped us was perhaps a path directly from our grandson's bedroom to the pool to push him in his wheelchair or shower chair. In summary I would say we had an excellent holiday in the villa but because of our particular circumstances with the wheelchair etc found the surrounding area a bit remote and difficult to access.

Amazing villa with great views

This villa is fantastic for large groups. There was 9 of us with 6 adults and 3 kids. The views are amazing and the villa itself is well equipped with everything you might need. The owner Carlos is very helpful and was able to assist with any questions we had. If you want luxury with panoramic views and a beautiful beach 5 mins away this is the place for you!

Ideal family villa!

Situated on a hillside this large spacious villa, had fantastic views, a gorgeous pool and great outside play, entertainment and dining areas. Inside the living/dining room has more than enough room for children to play and families to get together. Our only slight disappointment was that a couple of the bathrooms were looking rather 'tired'. We mentioned this to Carlos upon our departure and he assured us he'd look into it. Carlos is delightful and most accommodating. The villa is completely child friendly, this a great family retreat.

Excellent villa for all the family

We all had a fantastic time at the Villa. There were 10 of us in total 8 adults and 2 children and we fitted comfortably in the villa. The heated pool was fantastic as it meant we could go in the pool all day every day. Carlos (the owner) was incredibly helpful and always available when needed. The supermarket was a 10 minute drive and had everything we needed. There were inflatables for the pool at the villa which the little ones were really pleased with. Little ones also loved the fact they could get cbeebies. The pool gate was fab as meant we could keep the children in the shallow end although my 5 year old could stand up in just over half the length of the pool which was great. Amazing views,amazing villa, amazing communication with owner. Thank you Carlos!

Exceptional Villa! Amazing Owner!

We stayed here as a group of friends with 2 young children and we had the most amazing time. The villa is lovely with breathtaking views over the lagoon! The pool is wonderful and it was great that it was heated. The playground was brill for the little ones and the local area was really nice with the local beaches surrounding the lagoon a must see. The best thing for us was how safe and secure the villa was with baby stairgates, pool gates and fencing all around making it so easy for us to relax a little more knowing the kids were contained! Furthermore the cots and highchairs available were not some cheap make do items but instead well equipped and comfortable additions that made our stay more manageable with added comfort. Carlos the owner was also a major plus to staying here and helped us hugely with our stay. From answering every question I had beforehand regarding local supermarkets and transfer ideas, to making our arrival and departure run so smoothly! He was just a phone call or email away if we needed any help with anything as well and he would always reply very quickly. To top it off he provided a more than generous welcome pack that provided us with some essential items to keep us going till we got to the shops and even some luxury items thrown in to give us a warm welcome. The kitchen is so well stocked with everything you need that it really made meal times a breeze when things that you would have within easy reach at home like herbs / cooking utensils / dishwasher tablets / well stocked pantry were already available for you. It was also nice having the choice to wash clothes and the tumble dryer came in handy when drying our wet towels from the pool! All in all I seriously can't recommend this villa enough! The whole package what with the well thought out and maintained villa to the very helpful owner who will go the extra mile to make sure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as can be! Thank you for having us and will not hesitate to book to visit again!

Stunning holiday house for large groups

Casa lago was everything we wanted it to be. We were a family of 14, 8 adults, 5 children and a baby. The views from all rooms are amazing. The house is extremely well equipped, we wanted for nothing. Even had lots of inflatables for the pool, to which we have added. There are lots of places nearby to eat and plenty of shops, but none within walking distance. The owner was there to greet us, on arrival, and had provided an extensive welcome pack of food. Which we uch appreciated. We did have one or two problems in the house, but Carlos responded by return and sorted the problem out immediately. We would wholeheartedly recommend this property. None of us wanted to leave!

It is not often that the descriptions of villas meet your expectation. Casa do Largo is exactly how it is represented in Owners Direct web site...and MORE! The owner Carlos, could not be more helpful, the views quite spectacular and the facilities the best we have ever stayed in. The villa has everything for children and adults alike, EVERYTHING has been thought of to make your stay perfect. A beautiful pool, heated, large well appointed bedrooms, bathrooms and large spacious living rooms. We highly recommend this villa.

A beautiful house with a spectaculair view and very short drive to the laguna beach. Our party consisted of five kids ranging from 1-7 and they lovend the playground, pool and beach. Great villa with a stunning view

We (6 adults and 4 small kids) stayed at Casa do Lago for 2 weeks. And we loved everything: the villa, the large bedrooms, the pool (area), the kids playground and of course the stunning view at the Laguna do Obidos. The children loved the pool and stayed in there for hours all because the water temperature is so good (31º+). When the children were in bed we spend the evenings around the BBQ to prepare our meals and to sit around the fire with a good glass of (local!!) wine. And if you have a question then Carlos will respond immediate. All and all we had a great holiday at a wonderful villa.

Superb modern villa with amazing views

Walking group of 8 adults. Oct 2015. The group have hired many villas over the past 20 years and this is probably the best of them all. The villa has panoramic views and a 15m swimming pool heated to at least 29C. The facilities were complete as described, with ample hot water available at all times, a kitchen which was well equipped for group catering and a BBQ outside which worked well. The owner quickly sorted an internet reception problem and other minor issues which occurred during our stay. There are a number of shady areas in the garden but we would suggest that more shade could be provided near the pool. Finally may we thank Carlos for his attention and consideration during our stay. September 2015 stay at Casa do Lago

Superb position overlooking the lagoon at Foz do Aurelhio. Huge house with all the facilities you might want. We were a party of 10 which included 2 toddlers and it worked well for all of us. First time for us in this area of Portugal and we will definitely return art some point in the future.

Fantastic Family Villa with amazing views

We were a family of 8 adults (one wheelchair user) and 2 babies who arrived at the Villa on Saturday afternoon to be greeted by the owner Carlos who welcomed us all. He had kindly put some milk, butter, cheese, cold meats and yoghurts in the fridge, fruit on the table and left beer and wine for us too. As we drove down the drive to the Villa we were stunned by the views and were delighted that the first impressions were indeed as good as the video we had seen on line. The villa is very well maintained, the en-suite bedrooms are all large with fantastic views over the Lagoon and beyond out to the Atlantic. Carlos had arranged for a hoist and electric bed for the accessible suite on the ground floor which had a bedroom and bathroom that were both large enough for my husband's electric wheelchair. The Villa is perfect for a large family or group of friends and fantastic for wheelchair users. It is very spacious, comfortable, very clean, and had a well equipped kitchen and laundry room (needed with small ones). The dining and sitting room has fantastic views across the lagoon. There were bikes, helmets (2 baby seats on bikes) in the garage which also saw many games of table tennis played. The pool had a hoist for getting my husband into the clean, very warm water. The pool area is surrounded by a glass safely barrier and had a children’s swimming area within the pool itself. It was lovely to swim and look over the lagoon. The villa has a BBQ, crazy golf, small indoor gym, small outdoor gym, hammocks, children's play area and plenty of outside space. In short the Villa was home from home. The beach is a short drive from the Villa and there are restaurants and food shopping within a short driving distance too. This property is an ideal holiday location for a large group especially with a disabled member amongst them. Can’t wait to go back.

A luxurious villa set high on a hill providing a spectacular view over the lagoon and over towards the sea. All mod cons provided an easy, relaxing self catered holiday. A beautiful pool, well screened for child safety, was set in a pretty garden which also had great keep fit equipment and provided great fun for the whole family. The ping pong table, dart board and table football provided fun for all and the bicycles were used daily to either ride down to the beach or to the sailing club on the lagoon which provided more entertainment for the family. Villa was clean and comfortable and a comprenhensive and delicious starter pack was waiting for us on arrival. A fabulous holiday which was perfect for our whole family 3 months to to 60+.

Great time at Casa do Lago

We had a fantastic stay at Casa do Lago at the end of February through the beginning of March. We were there with our two children, ages 2 and 4, for whom the villa was an absolute paradise. The kids played every morning on the playground while the adults lay in the hammocks admiring the breathtaking views of the lagoon. The villa was beautiful and well-maintained, inside and out. The weather was lovely but a bit cold for swimming at that time of year, although my son did venture into the pool a few times. I can only imagine how nice the pool would be in warmer weather. The villa is also well-positioned to visit many beautiful areas. We made day trips to Obidos, Sintra, Navare, and Caldas da Rainha. Obidos was lovely, Sintra a bit farther afield but absolutely not to be missed--we went back twice and could have spent even more time there exploring the primeval forests and stunning castles. Navare had a lovely beach but otherwise seemed a little touristy for my tastes, but the drive there along the coast was lovely, and we made a stop at the beautiful Sao Martinho do Porto on the way. Parking was a little tricky in Caldas, but the big park there was beautiful, with a wonderful playground for the kids--definitely worth a visit. Foz was small but charming, with a beautiful beach. We were able to stock up on all the groceries we needed (and delicious pastries) at the small local shops. We generally ate lunch in restaurants and cooked dinner in the well-appointed kitchen at the villa, since the Portuguese eat dinner well beyond our kids' bedtime. Carlos was a wonderful host, responding quickly to every request. I highly recommend this villa for families with young children or for anyone looking for a beautiful relaxing vacation spot with easy access to many of the loveliest sites of Portugal.

Perfect holiday villa for a large group

We rented Casa do Lago to celebrate our birthdays with a group of friends and it proved to be just perfect. Each room has an ensuite and a view, the pool is a good size with plenty of room for everyone to sunbathe and the garden holds many surprises! We rented another villa down the road for other friends and it was easy to host them in Casa do Lago given the size of the living room and kitchen and also the outdoor barbecue. The size of the house is also helpful on rainy days, when we were able to watch DVDs as a group in comfort. The style of the house is very distinct and quite imposing when you arrive. Location wise it's an hour's drive from Lisbon so relatively easy to reach in a hire car from a budget airline flight. The nearest town, Foz do Areldo, has a few nice bars and restaurants and a trip to nearby Obidos is a must - what a beautiful historic town. The owners were a pleasure to deal with, helpful and friendly, and the price very competitive for what you get. We hope to be back - perhaps with friends who have children, as it's very well set up for kids too.

The perfect place for my family holiday

The best equipped villa we ever stayed in with an excellant welcome pack when we arrived,everything was of a high standard and catered for both adults and children. The area is quiet and unspoilt , the local sailing club was great value and very friendly. Having 11 bicycles on site was fantastis as we got to get out and see the local area on them. There is a excelent fish restaurant beside the beach + other good value places to eat . This place was made for relaxation.

My wife she loves cats, is fluent in several languages and works as a teacher in a High School. We are a couple in our fifties.

As Silver Coast is a fantastic region ( that we knew very well), we decided to build there our dream property. After discover the land, we found out the place so charming that we decided immediately to buy it and build there the villa of our dreams. We just wanted the best and we did not spare any efforts to achieve our aims. The result was a fantastic villa and an architectural master piece completely turned to the luxury relax, the sun and the views.
