This is an apartment attached to an occupied home. There is a shared interior wall to the occupied home and a separate entrance to the apartment. From the exterior photo and description of the rental, this was not made clear. I spoke to the rental manager Steven and VRBO care about my concern with this discrepancy before occupying the unit. I thought it was a free standing unit. Steven met me for check in and reviewed the security measures present with cameras and outdoor lighting. He also reviewed the interior of the unit with me on check-in. He was responsive when I reached out regarding snow removal after a storm. The space functioned well for me- the quiet residential neighborhood was nice for walking and local grocery stores and eateries were close. I heard little noise from the attached main house except for water running and occasional dog barking. The 3 dogs did bark quite aggressively, however, on a couple of occasions when they were in the backyard and I was entering the apartment. The VRBO write up for the property “ welcomes long term renters” and talks about a fully stocked kitchen for cooking and meal prep. I did find items were lacking or not in good condition. There were no pans for oven use, no toaster, can opener, bottle opener/ corkscrew, no portable vacuum for the dirt. The inside of the oven was stained and had crumbs in it and the air fryer was greasy and not clean on my arrival. All of the spices in the spice rack had expired a year ago.
