Pictures do not do justice of this beautiful place that's Heaven on Earth. It was so quiet and peaceful. We had both chalets and each one was very clean and perfect. If I tried to find any fault it would be impossible. I canot wait to return. We were there for Thanksgiving weekend. We want to return when it's warmer to fish and play in the gorgeous river.

July getaway

Very secluded, quiet, and peaceful. Easy to make a run to town or visit Blue Ridge or Young Harris. Easy to recharge yourself here.

A perfect getaway for Thanksgiving.

The property and both cabins were clean, perfectly located on the river and had absolutely everything we could need. We came for a family Thanksgiving getaway.

These chalets were perfect for a family getaway! Beautiful and peaceful location. We had 5 in one cabin, and 5 in the other with plenty of room. The chalets were clean & comfy. Kitchens were well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils for cooking meals, and there were games, a fire pit, and a nice gazebo directly over the water. We spent most of our time on the porches enjoying the sounds of the water just feet away. This stay felt private, but trips into either Murphy, NC or Blairsville, GA were convenient. Trout fishing was successful here, too! Just be sure to check the schedule for the dam to run its generators. Overall a great stay, and we plan on returning in the future!

Great Family Trip

We loved the solitude with wildlife to watch and the river for the kids to play in and fish. They never wanted to leave to go do other things.

Just like home

My family from a few different states and I got together to bury my papaw in town this December. It was a true blessing to be able to stay here together. Rather than multiple hotels, the 9 of us were able to have family meals, play games, and roast marshmallows in this secluded and beautiful area.It felt like being home again. Thank you for that!

Took our family here we are a variety of ages. There’s something for everyone! Absolutely wonderful stay! Chalets are exactly as described! River view and meadow are beautiful!! We will definitely stay here again!! Contact with property owner was easy to contact.

This property was great! The houses were exactly as advertised, clean and right on the river! We had a great time! We got to see river otters which was great as well! Everyone had a wonderful time! I will say that river access right at the house was not "easy" for everyone. They do release the dam early in the day so if you are not a river person you have to be out before that happens, which our littles were a little disappointed, but they had plenty to do with the amenties the house offers! The only thing i do want to point out is that the grill is a stone charcoal grill. So it doesnt have alot of cook space or ability to be closed. We made it work though, but just for future references. (Also grill tools are in an inside cabinet) The kitchen is stocked nicely with anything you could need!!! I absolutely would reccomend this place to anyone!!

Awesome location

We rented both cabins and they are not as the photos depict. They are MUCH nicer! The photos do not do them justice. We will be staying here again.

Like a little corner of heaven

Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The setting is so tranquil and serene - calming to the soul. The 4 children especially enjoyed the air-hockey, games and tubing down the river. If you stay during the summer months, the evening mist arising from the the Nottely River provides a cooling effect that is surprisingly refreshing. Our family hopes to return again!

Beautiful Fall Painting Retreat

I'm a member of a group of artist friends who schedule plein air painting retreats annually in the fall. This property and walkable surroundings has all the scenery a plein air painter needs to create a variety of painting compositions convenient to two comfy and well-equipped chalets. We'll definitely consider returning next year!

Great Get Away

Enjoyed the river. Cabins were neat and clean. The set up of bathrooms was unusual. (all n bedrooms) The road was terrible. Bad on cars. Once you are there, it was real nice. Temperature was around 85 with a breeze. We were not bothered by mosquitoes, which was nice. Had a great time..

Anniversary weekend

What a wonderful place! It is so quiet and so much more than pictures portray. The chalet was so clean and everything you might possibly need is there. Little cool for fishing but perfect for the firepit! Only sounds you hear are the abundance of wild turkey and the cows across the river every now and then. We had such a wonderful time and will definately be back! Thanks Kevin for a last minute anniversary getaway!

Great 16th birthday celebration!

We rented both cabins for our son's 16th birthday celebration. He and 2 of his friends stayed in one cabin, my husband, daughter and her boyfriend stayed in the other. Within minutes of arriving, my son was so in love with the property, he was wanting to buy it! lol. They thoroughly enjoyed the property. Unfortunately, didn't catch any fish there, but they went swimming and loved it all the same! The boys made a short trip to Cooper creek in GA to go trout fishing, so the whole trip was a success! Would definitely stay here again!

Definite Getaway

This is a great place if you want to be away from the rest of the world. Amazing views. Very secluded. Truly peaceful. Wi-Fi very spotty. Since we had 9 people, there was no where for all of us to eat together which was disappointing. The kitchen was very close quarters for trying to prep and make meals for 9. The dam released every day at 1:30 while we were there so we didn’t get to play in the river like we hoped. The drive is dirt/gravel. Unfortunately our first day there was quite the storm and we had to get out to move a tree off the drive. Overall, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the peace.

Our family spent years camping. We always hoped to get one of the camp sites next to the creek at Vogel State Park so we could relax to the sounds of the rushing water. That rarely happened…

As my wife and I grew older, we got tired of the walk to the communal bathroom, lousy showers, lack of privacy, and the not so great sleep in the camper. As our kids grew older, the allure of sleeping in a tent with no WiFi faded so we set out in search of the next best thing that allows us to enjoy all of the outdoor benefits of camping, but with all the comforts of home. We found it at River Run!

We chose this property because it is very unique and you will not find another like it to rent. The two chalets allows for all to enjoy the family vacation. The Trout House is designed like a giant game room with beds. It includes WiFi, Xbox 360, Ping Pong, and air hockey. Got a moody teenager with friends who want their privacy? Or want to play their music to loud? Or want to watch something different on TV? No problem! The Trout House is the perfect kid’s getaway while you enjoy the peace and relaxation of the Country House. They are happy and you are happy! Perfect!

The two chalets offer something for all members of the family. The property is located at the end of a mile long dirt road on a level 1 acre fenced lot. You can rent one or both chalets depending on your needs. The covered wrap-around metal roofed porches are just feet from the Nottely River. You can fish, hike, go antiquing, sit by the fire and listen to the river, BBQ on the outdoor grill, watch the cows graze across the river, or just sit on the porch in the rockers and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Nottely River.
