The rental agency was outstanding, and the house was perfect in every way. Unbelievably clean and comfortable.

No river/creek view as stated. Several hazardous areas that need to be addressed. Like water dripping on front steps and deck creating bacteria that was very slippery. Overall cleanliness of house was less than desirable. Sand on sheets upstairs, live wasps in lamps, shower upstairs clogged with hair, toilet upstairs clogged, toilet upstairs seat and lid filthy. Dishes and flatware were dirty…food dried on them. Kitchen table so dirty and sticky the dishes and paper towels stuck to it. Light bulbs out and clock didn’t work. Smoke detector upstairs needed batteries. Beeped the entire stay and was beeping when we got there. Deck and porch need maintenance. Solar lights near front porch and on deck do not work. Several busted. Water pressure so low you couldn’t take a decent shower without problems. 4 bathrooms that you cannot use at the same time nor turn on kitchen faucet or dishwasher or sinks or commodes. Views obstructed by trees. Checkin was easy and cabin is family friendly.

We appreciated receiving your candid review regarding your recent visit to Hickory Hideaway. To be honest, this is the first complaint we have had of this nature at this home. We would like to stress you chose not to notify us of any of these issues with the home, either upon your arrival, or during your WEEK’S stay, even though your check in information states: “Problems, Concerns, Don’t Wait, CALL US! Give us a call if you run into any issues or concerns at any point during your visit." To that point, you robbed us of any opportunity to rectify the situation and make it right immediately, which we would have been more than happy to do. To clarify, we have "creek or stream nearby" in the listing as an amenity though not necessarily on property, similar to skiing nearby. Jonathan Creek, a popular fishing spot is less than a mile from the property. The property listing itself does not designate itself as being a "creekview". Again, we hate you didn’t feel the need to address these issues during your stay and waited until your review here on Vrbo. We do appreciate your feedback albeit after the fact and will use it to improve our services. Thank you again for your comments.
