Summary:

Spirit Lake Manor is your ultimate cabin in the woods. This traditional cabin has been recently improved and offers accommodation for 6 guests across 3 queen-bed bedrooms. Modern amenities like fast Wi-Fi and smart TVs complement the timeless charm. Relax inside by the electric fireplace or enjoy the back deck and grill out amidst the sounds of nature, taking in the picturesque views! Please note: there is a very steep, paved road to access this cabin.



The Space:

Step into the warmth and comfort of this cabin, with wood finishes throughout. Plush leather furniture welcome guests to relax and reconnect while the electric fireplace casts a cozy glow.



This cabin sleeps 6 guests comfortably in three separate bedrooms, each with a queen bed. The main level features the full kitchen, bright living area, one bedroom, and a full bathroom. A spiral staircase leads to the upper level, where guests will find two additional bedrooms and another full bathroom. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame panoramic views of the lake and lush greenery, and fast Wi-Fi keeps the smart TV and your devices connected for a seamless countryside escape.



Outside, the cabin's allure extends to its breathtaking surroundings. Enjoy a grilling session and dinner on the patio, serenaded by the sounds of wildlife native to the Red River Gorge.



This cabin is centrally located in the Red River Gorge, just minutes from local attractions such as Redpoint BBQ, The RRG Zipline, and Muir Valley! This cabin is the perfect home base for adventures in the area and will be a cozy retreat after a well spent day out.

The Neighborhood:

Located in the Paradise Valley development off the same road as Red Point BBQ restaurant. There are several other cabins in the valley as well.



Other Things to Note:

Please note: This property is located next to a small lake, but swimming in the lake is not allowed.



RRG Getaways supplies a starter amount of the following: hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, dish soap, dish pods, laundry pods, and basic cleaning supplies. Any additional items needed will be the guest's responsibility to supply. We do not supply anything considered perishable or consumable, this includes but is not limited to, coffee, salt, pepper, oil and the like.



- This cabin utilizes filtered well water and is safe for all uses, but it does have a sulphuric smell to it. We recommend guests bring their own drinking water to this cabin.

- This cabin is accessed via mile long gravel road with a couple of very STEEP sections. The steepest part of which is paved. 4x4 is not necessary, but snowy and icy conditions will make this road challenging to navigate.

- We do not supply or sell firewood, guests are asked to purchase their own.

- A starter amount of shampoo and body soap are provided.

- The WiFi is considered fast but the cell service can be spotty depending on your provider.

Property could use a good cleaning on the outside. Towels smelled like they weren’t dried all the way. Other than that cabin was good for the price. Don’t try to use Maps to get there or you won’t find it. You will have to pin your location. It was close to all Gorge activities which was nice.

I’ve stayed at a lot of cabins in my life and this, by far, is my absolute favorite. Just perfect. My daughters agree this is their favorite as well and we’re already talking about coming back. I don’t think I left the swing on the porch our entire stay, I even read an entire book out there. Sitting on the porch while it was raining was the most tranquil experience I think I’ve ever had. Absolutely lovely. Thank you!!

Super easy check in...Awesome cabin,hot tub,2 showers,very comfortable beds...never left the cabin the entire week/Too nice and relaxing. Enjoyed the deck, outside swing,hot tub....the snapper turtles were so entertaining, plenty of water in front of the cabin. Would recommend all wheel drive for the steep hill getting in and out. Would highly recommend as a get away destination !!!

We actually didn’t end up at Spirit Lake due to storm damage at the property. The RRG Getaways team worked to find us a comparable substitute during the dates of our stay and we were so appreciative! Twin Peaks was perfectly clean and everything we needed for a quick hiking trip, as I’m sure Spirit Lake would’ve been. Can’t recommend RRG Getaways more!

The management was very easy to work with and get ahold of. They were extremely responsive to questions and needs, even if it is outside normal business hours. The housekeeper could do a better job, but would still stay here again.

This was our second time staying at this particular cabin over the last five years, and unfortunately, it was not a great experience.The air conditioning was not operational. It would only hold around 75 or 76- and when we approached the owner about the issue, he recommended turning it off and turning it back on as a remedy.We were extremely lucky that it was a fairly mild August weekend. Or it would’ve been over 80 in the house.The grill was a ground anchored barbecue.. which was located on a muddy hillside, which was eroding away into the lake. We had to use pizza boxes to step on to get near it.. even though it had not rained in multiple days.The doors on the cabin have not been maintained, and you had to be extremely forceful to even get them to close.The lake is a bit more of a swamp where this back porch is. I have done a lot of outdoor activities, but the back deck is one of the most mosquito/spider infested places I’ve ever been.

We had experienced some very heavy rainstorms in the area, which unfortunately contributed to the muddy and eroded conditions around the outdoor grill area. We completely understand how inconvenient that would have been. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the AC, doors, and outdoor areas. Our team is following up on these items so they can be properly addressed. Being a waterfront cabin surrounded by nature, mosquitoes, spiders, and other insects can certainly be more prevalent, particularly during the summer months, but we understand the conditions you encountered impacted your ability to enjoy the deck. We're sorry this stay fell short, especially as a returning guest, and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.

Cabin was not very clean. Very musty and moldy. The air conditioning didn’t work. Contacted the host multiple times about air. The kept telling us to try this and try that. Finally said they had no one to come look at it maybe tomorrow. Never heard back from them. Thermostat sat on 72 and wouldn’t drop to under 77. Upstairs was like an oven. We ended up spending half a day of our trip going to four different dollar stores in surrounding towns, but nobody had any fans. We finally decided after not sleeping the first night to drive 45 minutes one way to a Walmart to find three fans. I went back and looked at the listing again and on the reviews I seen that two weeks ago someone also commented about the air conditioner and they told him that they were gonna check it out obviously that never happened nor was I notified that the air wasn’t properly working before my trip. Since they knew there was a problem from a guest two weeks prior. Grill was sitting on a muddy hillside with old pizza boxes throw down with mud on top of them for you to try to get to the grill we ended up going and buying a grill because we had already spent 150 on food to grill out. Ended up spending 120 for fans and grill that should have been included in the amenities of this cabin. Water smelled like rotten eggs. Felt dirtier after we had showered. fire pit area is totally unusable. Pictures on site are very deceiving.

We know how frustrating it is to experience an AC issue during a trip, particularly when it affects your ability to comfortably sleep. Our team communicated with you the first evening and, based on our conversation, understood that the system was running again. When you reached out the following day to let us know that the downstairs had cooled but the upstairs was still warm, our team offered to have maintenance come out the following day. We did not receive a response to that message, so unfortunately it appears there was some miscommunication regarding whether you wanted us to proceed with the visit. We certainly would have preferred the opportunity to continue troubleshooting the issue during your stay. We’re also sorry to hear about your concerns with the cleanliness, grill area, water, and outdoor spaces. These are not the conditions we want our guests to experience, and we appreciate you bringing them to our attention so our team can follow up appropriately. We wish we could have resolved more of these concerns while you were at the cabin, but we appreciate your feedback and will use it to help improve the experience for future guests.

Peaceful Atmosphere

We had an amazing stay at Spirit Lake Manor! The house itself is absolutely beautiful, but what truly sets it apart is the breathtaking valley it sits in—nothing can beat that view and peaceful atmosphere. The kids had a blast swimming (yes, even in April!), fishing in the lake, and warming up in the hot tub. One thing to note: I highly recommend bringing a four-wheel-drive vehicle, as the paved road up is quite steep. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Friends Trip

Great, had everything we needed, very clean, hot tub was big enough for 6 people and the location was only a short car ride from the Natural Bridge. Will definitely be staying here again. I love that the bedrooms were all the same so no one got something subpar! The drive way was not ideal so I would recommend bringing 2 cars of less, 3 cars were difficult to fit, but besides that it was perfect!

Not a lake

Overall the cabin was nice and clean. However, parking was an issue for 2 cars like previous comments stated. "Lake" is an overstatement. It was more like a creek and fishing was not an option.

As for the water level, the area is currently affected by a dam repair that has temporarily lowered the lake, making it appear more like a creek at times. Steep and dangerous gravel road leading to property. We had to be towed to get out of there. Decided not to stay. The property description mentions steep roads that are treacherous in icy or snowy conditions. We were there in perfect weather conditions and still couldn’t make it. We were more than happy to end up at a hotel. Our car was very close to going over a ravine.

Our housekeeping team drives standard 2WD vehicles and is able to reach the cabin daily without issue. Balcony was covered in leaves and could have been swept before our arrival. Floors were uneven and seemed to lean toward the lake. VRBO photo showed a lake off of the back deck, but due to a leaking dam (per host) there was only small creek. Also the 1.5 mile gravel road to the cabin was a challenge. We still enjoyed our stay.

We're happy with RRG and our stay at spirit lake manor cabin. If you read comments from other people who have stayed at this cabin you will get an idea what to expect... The roads leading to the cabin are exciting and scary with narrow high climbing and decending gravel and concrete pathways best suited for a all wheel drive/4 wheel drive vehicles. The cabin is tucked away in this unique terrain and it's amazing the amount of work it must have taken to build not just this cabin but all of them in this area. Spirit Lake Manor is a wonderful cabin and everything works just fine. The inside was clean and cozy. The downstairs flooring does have a slope to it and the rear deck "A" frame bracing could be secured with black metal plates bolted through the center support beam to help with expansion and contraction. Anyway we loved it and had a fun memorable stay with nature all around us.

The cabin was not lakeside, it looked like a creek ran behind it, but it was dry. You need to ba able navigate a lot of stairs with your luggage both inside and outside of the cabin. I assumed our GPS would get us there, but it did not. I called them for help finding it, they answered and immediately sent a text with directions. Check your email before you go, they had sent the directions a couple days before our trip, but i didnt see it before we left. I read reviews prior and people suggested a four wheel drive vehicle, I would take that suggestion. The roads were dry and we still needed four wheel drive to get up the hills. There was only enough space to park one vehicle and turning around was difficult. The bed upstairs didnt have a top sheet, just a comforter, you may want to take your own. It is remote and peaceful with lots of wildlife. Overall the cabin is cute and clean.

You’re right that the cabin sits on a narrow part of the lake, and depending on rainfall, the water level can sometimes be very low. We do send all guests a detailed cabin guide with driving directions and property notes right after booking, but I’m happy we were able to get you the directions quickly when you called. We take pride in being available to help guests quickly if anything should arise. The road leading in does include a steep hill, though the steepest section is fully paved before it transitions back to gravel in the private valley. We always recommend a 4WD/AWD vehicle for the most comfortable access. Thank you also for your notes on the sheets and parking—we’ll review these with our team. We truly appreciate your feedback and are happy you enjoyed the remote setting.

The place is very very beautiful, but the road is very hard for a normal car and if it was raining it would be a problem. The property from inside is very very clean and the WiFi is very strong and great . I had a problem with outside, the wood chairs where very dangerous I hurt my thigh because the wood was out , the outside area wasn’t cleaned at all , the BBQ grill was very dirty , the chairs and the table. And there was no river at all not like pictures. Otherwise everything was amazing, the blankets, the bed , the cabin from inside , the furniture, the area , the hot sub all of them was amazing. I would like to stay in another time for sure if the things i mentioned can be changed. Thank you so much for hosting us and for giving us this great experience.

Nice place

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was really nice but there were a couple things that could and should have been different. Upon arrival, on the main floor there was dirt with some grass in the kitchen floor (no big deal). We went to go to bed the first night, and when we pulled the comforter back, there was hair and a sandy feel in the sheets and they smelled like sweat. In the other upstairs bedroom, there was blood on the sheets towards the foot of the bed, and the downstairs bedrooms sheets smelled like sweaty body odor as well. We ended up having to wash the sheets and blankets because of this. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would give it another chance but would be sure to check the sheets prior to getting ready for bed. As far as parking goes, we had two Chevy traverse SUVs and if you park just right, you can fit them. One parked in the drive way and one parked on the big rock by the drive way. I would definitely recommend a 4WD or AWD vehicle as the roads coming in are gravel and steep hills. The host is also very responsive which was appreciated!

Lovely cabin!

My husband and I stayed at Spirit Lake Manor for one night for our 10-year wedding anniversary. It was one of the few cabins we found that offers a one-night stay! The cabin was beautiful and clean. We loved the setting; it was quiet and secluded, with a few other cabins nearby so it didn't feel *too* secluded. We sat on the deck in the evening and watched a family of deer graze and play, which was such a sweet, peaceful experience! I loved the floor-to-ceiling windows, the winding staircase, and the porch swing (the perfect spot to read with a glass of wine). There was no water in the lake when we were there, but we were surrounded by deep green forest and the sounds of nature, which was just fine for us. We were also delighted to find we had access to football channels and movies! I will note that while the location is relatively close to all of the attractions/restaurants in the Gorge, the road is quite curvy and very steep in parts. The parking situation was a little tough; it was difficult to maneuver a truck in and out, but it is doable. I would recommend a 4x4 vehicle, or at least an SUV, when traveling to this cabin. I wish we could have stayed longer! The cabin had everything we needed, including the peace and quiet we were looking for!
