Take a break and unwind at this canal front cottage located in Colington Harbour, a private gated subdivision situated in the heart of the Outer Banks. A thriving boating community featuring miles of canals with scenic sound front homes along the beautiful Albemarle Sound. As a guest at Sunset Sanctuary, you have access to all the community amenities & events. A quick drive east on Colington Drive leads you past the Wright Brothers Memorial Monument and the Atlantic Ocean & Beach (4.5 mile)!
The space
This home adopted an African Wild Dog - Travel with Purpose when you stay with us and assist in global efforts to help save this beautiful species!
Pull into the parking area and take a few steps down to a deck that surrounds the house on two sides. The main entrance leads you into the open living, dining, & kitchen spaces with lots of windows to showcase the beautiful views of the canal in the backyard with a view of the sound and amazing sunsets in the distance! The vaulted wooden ceilings throughout with ceiling fans give the home a cottage like feel. Recently renovated and well stocked kitchen! As you take the hallway down to the bedrooms, there is one full bathroom, one queen bedroom with half bath connected, second queen bedroom, and at the end of the hallway the spacious master bedroom with king bed, full bath with tub, & your own entrance to a deck off the back of the house. Take the deck down into the backyard for your waterfront and private dock access. Nice flat yard with shade provided on the back patio perfect for hanging out in the day time or fantastic place to retreat to in the evening for sunset!

*Guests have access to the entire property except for locked owners closets.
*Huge sound side park with sandy beaches, a playground, and sheltered picnic areas, a basketball court, as well as a kayak rack, boat launch, boat slips for rent and the Yacht and Racket Club, which allows use of the outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, and community clubhouse!
*Discount to OBX local favorite restaurant!
*Special Discount for our guests on beach rental supplies & set up between Duck to South Nags Head! Any Questions - please ask your host!
Other things to note
All guests are provided one bath towel, beach towel, and wash cloth.

I studied Human Nutrition, Foods & Exercise with an emphasis in Exercise & Health Promotion at Virginia Tech & put that knowledge to work on a daily basis as a Pilates Instructor at the only classical Pilates Studio in the OBX, The Presidio of Pilates! In addition to my education, my love for business & entrepreneurial spirit led me to Hosting! I CoHost multiple spaces in locations throughout the United States and as a Professional Referrer of hosting I take great joy in teaching folks how to start their own business hosting by themselves or with assistance. Kill Devil Hills is the oldest official town on the Outer Banks, located in the central Outer Banks with miles of attractions, activities, shops, and restaurants, along with miles of oceanfront. At the top of the "Hills," the Wright Brothers National Memorial overlooks the town, offering a historic and scenic view.
Attractions:
Wright Brothers National Memorial: Open year-round, generally from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., offering a glimpse into aviation history.
Avalon Fishing Pier: A 700 ft. long pier with a pier house featuring a snack bar, tackle & bait, and beer.
The Beach: Kill Devil Hills' main attraction, offering beautiful ocean views and sandy shores. Local beach rules include no dogs from May 15 to September 15, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Dogs must be leashed otherwise. No glass or bonfires, and driving on the beach is allowed from October through March. Alcohol is permitted, but please drink responsibly. Metal detecting and surf fishing are allowed. Red flags indicate dangerous conditions. It's illegal to walk on dunes or pick live sea oats. Fill in any holes dug in the sand.
4x4 Driving on the Beach: Permitted from October 1 - April 30 through designated access points. Vehicles must have current safety inspection, registration, insurance, and license plate. Beach driving permits are required and available from the Town of Kill Devil Hills or the Town of Nags Head.
