Come stay in a beautiful, PET FRIENDLY 1920 craftsman w/ HEATED POOL! 3 blocks to Crestwood Park (sprawling grass & tennis courts); 15 min walk to pizza, coffee, ice cream, wine shoppe, & bar; Less than 1 mile to Cahaba Brewery; 1 mile to Saturn/Satellite Bar/Cafe/Music Venue, Avondale Brewery, Avondale Park, & Ferus Tap Room; 2 miles to Sloss Furnace & Back Forty Brewery; 2.5 miles to Airport & Trim Tab Brewery; 3 miles to UAB/downtown. 1G ATT Fiber internet! Backyard & pool are SHARED because owners may use during your stay.

The space
The house is a private residence. However, the pool and backyard are SHARED with owners and select few others who will never enter the house. Parties or unapproved guests of any kind are NOT allowed.

Other things to note
***A pool was installed in the backyard in February 2022! The backyard is now a SHARED space, with hosts and hosts' close friends using the pool intermittently. At no time will the hosts enter the house. Guests are welcome to use the pool at the same time as hosts.

When weather allows, guests are welcome to use the pool for a one-time-per-reservation $60 nonrefundable fee. The pool has an auto-cover, and the code will be given to guests upon paying the fee. We ask that guests request pool access at least 24 hours before their reservation. Those accessing the pool will be required to follow all pool rules, which will be posted on site and messaged electronically. Failure to do so will result in a $50 fine per offense.

The bungalow was just perfect for our needs. It was close to everything we came to Birmingham for so it was most convenient. Very quiet location and the owners had great communication. Will definitely stay again when we return to Birmingham!

The home is old but very tastefully decorated. As there is only the one small bathroom, I like the fact that the home had an old singer sewing table in the hallway for holding various bathroom items & hair styling tools The mirror in the bathroom was quite high & the counter depth pretty wide. I’m only 5” so it was very difficult to use the mirror for anything. There were a couple of dressing tables in the bedrooms but a lack of outlets and good lighting made it difficult to use those either. I would suggest putting one of those mirrors on a pull out arm in the bathroom at a height suitable for shorter guests as well as a mirror over the old sewing table in the hallway as that would have been an ideal place to blow dry and/or straighten hair as there was a full unused outlet under that table. The living area of the home & kitchen were comfortable. We did not have an opportunity to use the pool but it did look very nice although I’m not sure giving 24 hour notice for permission to use it is feasible all the time. There is also a 60 fee to use the pool which probably should be noted in the VRBO description. Overall our stay was enjoyable & comfortable. The communication with the hosts beforehand was excellent & the Welcome Binder explained everything you needed to know accurately.

Bedroom was rather dark as there was only 1 lightbulb (out of 3) in the overhead light.

I want to start this review off by saying communication was very good and all the issues we had were fixed. It just was a bit too many issues to happen in a 4 day stay… each day something happen …. When we first got there, the keypad was out of battery so that was a 45 min ordeal at 10:30 at night. Second thing to happen on the next day was the shower didn’t turn into a shower and the tub wouldnt stay filled up so… third thang to happen on was the Air conditioner froze up … so like I said communication was great and the owners did handle everything… overall we went to the house for the pool. The pool has a ton of trees so there’s a lot of debris on one side of the pool, but the house was the very welcoming to us.

Comfortable and very pleasant stay

This home is easy to check into, owners were easy to communicate with. The home is beautiful with lots of cool vintage things to look at, great design choices, well stocked with everything you need. Pool and deck area was perfect for our stay.

Birmingham stay

House in nice older neighborhood that has been revitalized. House was spacious with a few nice touches like Keurig coffee maker. Felt safe and secure.

Birmingham birthday

This is a beautiful place. We stayed for my son's 21st birthday. We absolutely loved it!! Would recommend it for a Birmingham stay. It's very peaceful and the neighborhood is beautiful.
