The Cairo St Bungalow is a bright, well-equipped 2-bedroom home in Springfield`s Rountree neighborhood, minutes from Missouri State University, Cox South Hospital, and Mercy Hospital. Whether you are here for work, a medical stay, a campus visit, or an Ozarks adventure, this home is built to make your time in Springfield easy and comfortable.

Clean, cozy, close to Missouri State University

Our family went to visit our son at college. Location and accommodations 10/10 compared to staying at a hotel. Super clean accommodations, attentive property manager, walking distance to campus. Zero complaints with this property.

Hi, I’m Dana Mirowski. Originally from Flint, Michigan, I’ve made Springfield, Missouri, my home for the past several years. I hold a degree in Purchasing and Logistics from Arizona State University and studied Hospitality Management at UNLV. Hospitality has always been part of who I am.

Along with my husband, Steve, I co-own Home Away Springfield and Mirowski Inspections, a residential and commercial property inspection company. We have two amazing young adult children and a grand dog—our fluffy and lovable Old English Sheepdog, Winifred.

My love of travel and hiking has given me a deep appreciation for the comfort and care that truly great accommodations can provide. That’s why I’ve poured my heart into creating spaces that are both functional and welcoming, blending modern comfort with a touch of personality. At Home Away Springfield, we pride ourselves on thoughtful details—from unique decor to stocked kitchens and friendly touches like snacks and local recommendations.

Hosting is truly one of my favorite things to do. I love getting to meet people from all over and help make their time in Springfield a little easier, a little more relaxing, and hopefully, a little more memorable. I truly believe we host the best guests around!

We chose this area because it offers the perfect balance—close to hospitals, universities, and downtown, but still peaceful and residential. Guests love being able to walk or bike to local coffee shops, restaurants, and entertainment spots, all while enjoying the slower pace of a true neighborhood. It’s also ideal for those here on temporary assignments or relocating, offering both convenience and a sense of home.
