I stayed in this home with my husband, brother and sister in law. The home is on a quiet dead end street, and is very private as it is surrounded by lovely tall trees in the back and sides, and shrubs in front. This made the side porch very inviting and private, and we spent time eating on the table there, and in the hammock enjoying the privacy and beauty of the trees. The listing photos depicted the home accurately, and the owners were very responsive in answering questions and helped to make the experience feel excellent.
At the end of the driveway there is a small path, that when taken will lead one eventually to the shining sea bike path, which is delightful as it covers many varied terrains in the area. My husband and I enjoyed walking it toward Woods Hole, passing the ocean and a lighthouse, as well as woods, and got to Woods Hole proper,(not far away) where we stumbled into happy hour at the LandFall restaurant, and enjoyed drinks and some "fish bites" for .35 cents and another beautiful view of the ocean!!
We enjoyed Woods Hole and this home, due to the walkability to the Ferry to Martha's Vineyard also! It is completely walkable from the house along the shining sea bike trail, and no worry about parking your car!
Also, the oceanographic Institute and the Marine Biology Labs in W.H. were definite draws for us.
Woods Hole has some interesting history as well! You will have to go to hear about it. I recommend the tour of the institute, marine labs, and going to the holding tanks, where you can hold some of the sea creatures of Buzzards Bay. It is thrilling if you are a newbie like me, to ocean creatures.
Back to the house...besides being in a wonderful location, the kitchen is newer and a delight to cook in, and the beds are so comfortable! The home itself has a casual well thought out elegance in decor, a large inside dining table, many beds to go around and plenty of bathroom space . If you want to visit Boston, it is also very close to Boston, unlike most of the rest of the cape. We visited three different beaches while there, all with their own character. We packed the picnic "satchel" from the home, and went on a picnic to Plymouth, and toured Plymouth Village, which was only 50-60 minute drive from the house.
We all thoroughly enjoyed this home, and I would highly recommend it.
