Family Fun Gathering

The house was a great lake house, beautiful weather guaranteed we were able to enjoy the lake. We were in the area to celebrate my a HS graduation. However we had plenty of time for swimming and floating in the lake. The site states the house sleeps 12, however I believe that is assuming married couples. We found the futon in the basement was a bit short but there were two cots available and we used one in the basement. The owner was easy to contact and quick to respond. We had a running toilet and learned that would shut off the water, once we knew the problem we had no further issues with the water. The kitchen was small but had most everything we needed. We had a wonderful time swimming, paddle boarding, floating on tubes, fishing, hiking in the area and walking around the lake and the homes in the area.

We’re an outdoor family.

Pamela grew up beneath the Cotapaxi and Pichincha volcanoes in Ecuador. Scott grew up in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, on the Little Tennessee River.

Neither family had much - Scott’s Grandfather, an old boat and a renovated school bus for family camping. Pamela’s Aunt, a balmy ‘choza’ in the Amazon.

Today it’s clear, those memories in nature with our loved ones have endured. We’ve aimed to create that same special experience for you and yours here, at Bartram’s Retreat!

Staying at Bartram's Retreat will make you feel like you're in a movie. A gorgeous mountain lake, its morning calm interrupted only by the chirping birds, passing canoes, and a few early rising kids stoked to take on the day. There's deer, bear and fish. There's bike riding and trail walking. If this isn't enough... you're less than 15 minutes from many other great experiences, like whitewater rafting, trout fishing in the Chattooga, exploring waterfalls, etc.
