Experience convenient and comfortable living staying at our Seashell Ohana ONE! Our newly built 2 bedroom 2 bath duplex home. Located centrally in Hilo. You will be just 3 miles from Hilo airport, Liliuokalani Park and Garden, Carlsmith Beach Park, and many other popular attractions and restaurants. This spacious house sleeps up to 6. Enjoy the proximity to Volcanoes National Park, Rainbow Falls, Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden and much more!

Start your vacation at this centrally located home, surrounded by shopping centers, restaurants, parks, and beaches! If you are visiting Hilo for business, this space is ideal as well, with plenty of table space for working and high-speed internet through Spectrum (200mbps). No cooking in this unit. We provide coffee machine, microwave, juicer, refrigerator, mug, plates and silverwares in this kitchenette. 2 walk-in showers. In addition to the 3 full beds available in this home, there are one futon sofas (in the bedroom) and one sofa in the living room to accommodate extra guests; please note there are no extra beds. Let us know if you would like to request air mattress.

Please Note: As this is a multi-unit property, guests may occasionally hear normal household noise from the upstairs unit, including footsteps and general activity.

Private parking is on-site at the entrance of the apartment. Please let us know if you will need space for more than 2 vehicles. Laundry room is located in the garage. Quiet hours between 9pm and 7am.

Average weather in Hilo is 84F/64F. Most the Hilo residents do not install air conditioning in the house.

very clean and comfortable stay, however small kitchen with a sink & stove would have been great; one trouble was lot of walking/running noise and disturbance from upstairs.

What we needed for our vacation. A space to cook like a hot plate would have been ideal. A bit more clearly stated in the description. Host answered questions in a timely manner. Bedrooms were hot so extra fans were needed.

The place was quite clean, fresh-smelling! The unit held an air of relaxation that was perfect for our weekend getaway. We actually canceled some of our excursions to relax in the rooms. This was our first trip to Hilo and we were surprised at how close we stayed to many of our destinations. Being right off a main road made it super easy to find our way around!

Very clean and well taken care of VRBO. We booked this last minute as our other VRBO cancelled on us due to an emergency a few days before our stay. Easy check in and check out and host was easy to communicate with. In a great part of town for visiting attractions around Hilo. We were in close proximity to Rainbow Falls, tour groups for Mauna Kea and the botanical garden (which was amazing). Plenty of food/stores nearby as well. Beach is a short drive and fun to watch surfers at! It is on the bottom floor of a building though and the upstairs group was a little loud but that’s not the hosts fault. But if you’re looking for a completely quiet place be aware that there are people upstairs above the VRBO. Overall a wonderful stay and we were very happy!

Main room patio door latch didn’t work. Noisy (maybe it was the rain).Felt new. Good beds and shower. I’m glad we stayed here, away from downtown. near a very good grocery store.Would not feel comfortable if stayed downtown due to all the transients.

Noise issue

The property and host was excellent. The problem was this listing it was not clear we were the lower level of a duplex and we had a party of 10 people staying above us and it was very loud. Heard every step they made. Only complaint. Every thing else was great.

Nice clean newer rental

We spent 2 nights at Hilo in this cute rental. It had a fridge microwave and coffee maker but cannot cook a meal in this unit as does not have a kitchen. We were aware of this and we were not planning to cook.This unit is modern and clean and quiet. The town of Hilo seems to have a lot of rundown areas and homelessness. That said we loved the Farmers market and waterfalls. The weather was sunny and beautiful. This rental was nice and the neighborhood felt safe.

Hilo Stay

Everything was easy for check-in and super close to everything we wanted to explore, which was super important for us with little kids. There were only a couple little issues we had. One was that in the bedrooms it did get quite warm, the ac unit is in the living room area and it definitely pushes air out and keeps that area super cold. It was just hard to keep the bedrooms cooled off. The only other issue we had was our unit was below another unit and we could hear every single footstep. The first group that was in there wasn't too bad, however the last day we stayed it was very loud super late at night with what sounded like running around. Other than that, we absolutely loved it and it was super clean which is a huge plus for me!

Although the property was clean and in good condition, there are several notable negatives: 1. The entrance door is directly into one of the two bedrooms and not into a common room. This may make it tricky for couples sharing a unit unless they always enter and exit at the same time. 2. There appears to be little insulation between this unit and the one upstairs. During our stay, the upstairs unit had 20+ people (based on slippers outside the door), with lots of kids running and jumping. The noise in our unit was UNBEARABLE. Noise controls and occupancy limits on units should be in place and enforced. 3. The three beds (two in one room and one in the other) were not comfortable. 4. The air conditioning unit is only located in the common area. 5. The "kitchen" consists of a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and some basic utensils. There is no kitchen sink. 5. There is a sign in the kitchen saying that alcohol is not allowed, but this is not disclosed at any time before entering the unit.

Unfortunately, our stay was seriously affected by a persistent noise issue. There was a constant metallic banging sound coming from above the entrance-side room, almost every second, and the high ceiling made it even louder. Even with earplugs, it was very difficult to sleep. The noise continued and seemed to get worse during the stay. It also affected another room, as my colleague was woken up by the same noise and had to use earplugs as well. This confirmed that it was not just personal sensitivity, but a real issue affecting proper rest. We reported the problem, but felt it was not taken seriously. The response was that “people sleep differently,” and moving rooms was treated as our personal request rather than a response to a serious problem. Because of this, I had to stay somewhere else after the second day.The room layout was also very strange. The main entrance opens directly into one of the rooms instead of a normal living room or entry area. It felt like the room had been converted from an entrance compartment, which made it less comfortable and private.Considering the unresolved noise, unusual layout, and the need to find another place to sleep, this property was not worth the money for us.

L’appartement, propre et spacieux serait parfait si il y avait un évier de cuisine et une table. Laver quelques assiettes ou tasses est un peu compliqué dans le petit évier de salle de bain.Les lits sont confortables, il est bien situé., et par ailleurs bien équipé.
