The sunroom porch and outdoor campfire area add to the charm. Just across the road, you’ll find public beach access for swimming and stunning Tawas Bay sunsets. A morning stroll in the opposite direction offers breathtaking sunrises over Lake Huron. For the full beach experience, head less than a mile to Tawas Point State Park, where you’ll find a sprawling sandy beach, a dog-friendly beach, the historic Tawas Point Lighthouse, and bird sanctuary trail that takes you to the end of the peninsula. Wildlife enthusiasts enjoy the annual Tawas Point Migration Days where there are some of the best birding in the Great Lakes region. Downtown East Tawas and Tawas City, with their shops and restaurants, are only a short drive away. Our family had a great time at the vacation house. It was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The state park was right down the street. We would definitely recommend!

We were all equally impressed with the layout of the house and how clean it was. The online pictures seemed dated, but the rooms were all very clean and bright. We appreciated the access to the kitchen appliances as well. We would love to stay there again on our next trip to East Tawas. Thank you

This was my second time renting this year. The house is very nice and in a great location. Two minute drive to Tawas state park and beach. Five minutes to downtown. My granddaughter enjoyed the trail setup in the yard with solar lights marking the path. If we decide on Tawas next summer we will definitely rent it again.

The hosts were friendly and helped with finding the property more easily than with Google maps. The check in process was easy. There were lots of outdoor items to use which was nice for our beach day. It would be helpful if the house had some staples like a blow dryer, a vegetable peeler, and some cooking spray. My group usually uses VRBO instead of hotels because the rental houses usually offer the needed staples. However, not having these items available wasn't really a problem, just a suggestion. The round table was great for games, and the host had puzzles and games available to use. Overall, we would stay here again.

This house is inhabited by cockroaches and black widow spiders. The interior is dated and someone attempted to paint it quickly and poorly. It is very poorly stocked and I had to buy a hair dryer and extra toilet paper. There were no hand towels or washcloths and it is missing most basic kitchen items. After my complaints the host put in a Walmart order for some of the basics which helped. There is no curb appeal, as the outside is weeds and spider webs. There is broken glass and hornet nests on the back patio. New cockroaches appeared daily and we killed a blackwidow in the hallway outside the bedrooms. The host offered to go to Home Depot to buy products to deal with the bugs but we declined as we didn’t feel that would help. I repeatedly explained that this property was dirty, not habitable and highly overpriced and he refused to even give me half the amount back. The Frogger video game was the best part of the stay.

My wife and I have enjoyed renting various Vrbo properties for years throughout Michigan, and in 2024 we decided to purchase a vacation home with the intent of sharing it with others. From what we have learned from the different properties we have stayed at over the years, we have implemented into our rental philosophy.

We have been to so many different areas in Michigan, and we felt that East Tawas was a perfect location, being only a couple hours drive from the Metro Detroit area, and it close proximety to a downtown, plenty of water and beaches, a short walk down to the state park, and then other sight seeing adventures only about a 20min drive from the property such as the overlooks at the Au Sable River just northwest.

Our property is a charming 3 bedroom home, with 3 queen beds and an auto inflatable sleeper sofa in the back room, making it a comfy stay for 8 people. Just across the street you can jump in the water at the public beach, or watch the sunset, walk down the other direction for sunrises. A few minute walk south takes you to the Tawas State Park with beaches and a historic lighthouse. Downtown East Tawas is only a 5min drive away.
