This was the best family vacation spot we have ever been to in Florida.

We loved the location and the fact that mainly families were staying there. This had become the location that we will continue to return to from here on out.

Great view.

This place is quiet and perfect for families and people who don't want the party atmosphere. The stretch of beach is flat and easy for swimming. The umbrella and chairs are a key feature to enjoying days on the beach. They are included.

Great condo, great property, great beaches

We had a wonderful stay at this condo. Property was just as listed, and very clean. The area of beach it’s located on has people on it, but it isn’t too crowded. There is plenty of room to spread out if you like to bring your own shade tent to the beach. We don’t have kids, but it seems like a kid friendly place! Non-Smoking common areas (pools, grills,) was a nice touch. Overall great stay, we would return.

Last minute getaway

We booked our stay the night before we came . Unknowingly, the building we booked was undergoing construction . The next morning the property manager called me to explain the construction and offered us another unit at the Islander. It was a nice upgrade. They went above and beyond to communicate and take care of us. Great customer service . Great room and amenities. Had a great time. Can't wait to come back.

A box of tissues should be included since this is a very basic need. My only complaint would be the use of the hot tub. People are not observing the 15 minute rule posted on the wall right beside the hot tub. Multiple evenings I saw a group of teens and a family staying in it for 1-1/2 hours. They seemed to be oblivious to other people wanting to use it. Perhaps a sign-up sheet for a time slot would be useful. Share the amenities people! I booked Pelican Isle because it had the hot tub. Unfortunately, I was unable to use it much.

Connor took really good care of us, and our umbrella/chair rentals. The view from the condo balcony, especially at night, was amazing. The condo is not large, but is exactly as described. We knew what we were getting, and it was accommodating for our family. If you plan to have meals in the kitchen, be prepared to go to Publix, as you would need many items, including the basic essentials such as salt and pepper. The kitchen is equipped with everything you would need to actually cook, such as pots, pans, etc, but just that. The carpet is a little dated, but I completely understand why it wouldn’t be replaced, as renters would continually just track in sand. The condo was very clean, and the a/c worked amazingly! The management company was great to deal with, and communication was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again.

OK but could have been better.

The mattress and box springs were horrible. The maintenance man came and turned them after the first night. Much better but there was still a huge hump in the middle. He had to turn the ceiling fan down, no pull chain. The toilets were for infants I think. If you have two in a unit one needs to be chair height. The TV situation, well it is what it is I suppose. Would it not be possible to put a small chest of drawers somewhere? No place to unpack our small amount of items. If I don't say these things perhaps you will not know. The unit was very clean, plenty of towels etc. Kitchen was nice. Couch not real comfortable. Showers nice. Door locks nice. Could someone contact me about next year, same type unit and one with two bedrooms?

Reviewer Comments: The many good things are indicated in the star ratings below: clean unit, great location right on the water, efficient and professional B and S staff, plus there's a great, very comfortable recliner in the living-room area. The negatives are: There's no dresser in the bedroom, no place to store clothes other than a small closet, AND the closet has no hangers. The dining table and chairs are high style, and very uncomfortable. And the chairs are wobbly. Plates, mugs, so-called "bowls" in kitchen are square. Some people may like that, I do not. A major issue was that neither TV worked when I arrived. Fortunately, after I called B and S, a maintenance man came and fixed them, but only after a long time of puzzlement and after great effort. He finished just in time for me to watch the Super Bowl. I had arrived in the condo c.4:30pm. I fear that, if you'd arrive much later and the TVs do not work, the B and S office would be closed and you'd be out of luck till morning.

Been coming to Okaloosa Island for 6 years & doing trips to FLA since 2000, and this condo had some definite firsts. To start, it was very clean, great view from the small balcony, and communication with the condo realtor/renter was wonderful. It was also nice to use one of the free daily rounds of golf at a great course, Emerald Bay. But here are some concerns....first, I have NEVER stayed anywhere like this that did NOT have a dresser for clothes.....it was unreal. I had to apologize to my wife and daughter for us basically having to live out of our suitcases for the week. BUY A DRESSER, THEY AREN'T THAT EXPENSIVE! With no dresser I thought we could at least hang clothes in our closet.....wrong. It had like 6 hangers in there, 3 of which were for baby clothes. This is magnified by zero storage for the 2 bunkbeds in the hallway. So where are 4 pepole supposed to put their clothes??! UGH. Then there's the bed......WORST bed we've every experienced, my wife and I both were in misery every morning after waking up after a restless night on that mattress.....horrible mattress, please burn it. Then little things that other condos provide were missing, but not a huge deal.....liquid dish soap, salt and pepper, tupperware/food storage with lids, etc. were non-existent, bring your own. All in all it was an OK condo, but a new dresser and mattress would bring it up a few notches.

Beautiful Beach View

We loved the view from the condo, and the stretch of beach was perfect for our kids. The condo was fine, but just be prepared to bring literally everything with you. They do mostly warn you of this in the app you’re supposed to download, but I did not read over everything. It’s much less complicated when you can just look at all of the checking in/out details and other info directly through vrbo rather than getting emails from a separate company and then being told there’s an app to download. We’re used to vacation rentals being much better appointed than this condo was. There were no kitchen towels, kitchen sponge, dishwasher pods/detergent, coffee filters, beach towels, salt/pepper…. You get a roll of paper towels and a couple rolls of toilet paper. That’s it. My in-laws stayed down the beach at Sea Oats, and they had a cute basket filled with beach towels and some essentials to get them started. I regretted not booking there. I also got stuck in the elevator. The maintenance person told me they’ve been having issues with the elevator for a few weeks, but it never messes up when they have someone come out to fix it. I understand that this makes it hard for them to get it taken care, but I do think the people staying at the condo should be made aware of the situation. I did not have my phone with me, and the emergency thing in the elevator wasn’t working. I had to pound on the doors until someone heard me. I will avoiding booking a Brooks & Shorey property in the future.
