Welcome to Straight From The Heart, a delightful log cabin retreat set on 163 acres of unspoiled beauty, with its own private lake and stunning views of Mt. Adams. This cozy cabin, built in 2006, combines rustic charm with modern comforts, making it an ideal escape. Hartland Lake, teeming with trout, bass, and bluegill, offers a peaceful haven for fishing enthusiasts of all skill levels.

We absolutely loved this cozy little cabin! It was beautiful, comfortable, and had such a warm, welcoming feel. Everyone on our trip enjoyed the stay, and the dinner table was one of our favorite spots to gather. Highly recommend!

Our favorite soot

We have stayed here 8-9 times and come here to fly fish, eat too much and sleep soundly. Beautiful location, house/cabin, peace, and quiet. Very special location for us.

Beautiful location!

We were there with another couple. The home was immaculate and extremely well stocked. The views of Mt Adam’s were amazing! And the property wonderful for hiking/walking. The property met our needs. A few things which impacted our review:1. The beds in the bunk room were terribly uncomfortable. Thankfully we didn’t need the beds. But if you are booking for more than 4 people, keep that in mind. 2. The description indicates there is a TV. While there is, it doesn’t work except to watch DVD’s . So, if you need a TV, just know it doesn’t work. In addition, it is up in the loft with a game table…. No comfy seating. 3. Responsiveness and follow through was marginal. The trashcan outside was full when we arrived. We notified the contact who indicated that it would be picked up the next day. It was not. 4. Be aware that there is an additional step in booking this property. Once booked through VRBO, I received another contract from another group which needed to be signed before officially booking property. Not an issue….. just different from all of our other met our needs.

Very quiet and peaceful!

If one is looking for a location away from noise, this is the place! NO traffic to listen to! We have stayed in many vacation rentals. This one had the best equipped kitchen with lots of dinnerware and silverware!

Cozy, comfortable, relaxing, and lots of love , laughter and joy for my family. Hike around lake was great, saw lots of deer. Amenities wonderful. BBQ easy to work . Beds comfy, Location was,just right - enough in the woods, hills and off the beaten path. Will rrcommend to friends

Another great stay

I think I’ve stayed at this property at least 8 times since 2001. I love this house, this lake, this property, this area. If you fish - especially fly fish- this lake is beyond special. It actually is leased and maintained by the Oregon Fishing Club and it private unless you stay at this house/cabin. The house is way cool - logs cabin, stone fireplace, knotty pine walls, etc. It has all the usual amenities. The decor is perfect for the area, and the new property owners are very nice people. If you want peace and solitude- this is the place for you. If you are a loud partier - this is not the place for you. Respect this house, this lake, this property. It is special.

Very nice and quiet getaway

We stayed two nights with 6 adults. It was VERY clean, well maintained, and quiet. The cabin and property are beautiful. Loved it.

Cozy cabin

Overall good experience. Couple of things could have been better. Front porch light didn’t work. Garb can was full upon arrival. Propane cylinder for grill was empty and very rusty. Back door and lock was only partially functional.
