1 acre of the 5 acres is fully fenced. The fully fenced acre is directly off the back patio sliders.

3 wineries within 15 minutes, 40 wineries within an hour. Hiking opportunities abound out your front door, an hour to Mt. Hood to ski, wind surfing, and salmon fishing close by. If relaxing is more your vibe, enjoy the privacy and quiet of 5 acres. Morning coffee with hummingbirds on the patio, or cozy up next to the wood burning fireplace. Sunsets over Mt. Hood and stargazing await you in the evening.

House was very clean and well stocked. Some difficulty finding house as last turn not well marked. Beautiful views. 20 minutes from klickitat and convenient for fishing the river.

Country Comfort

The highlands house was cozy, cute and just what we needed for our trip. It needed some attention from a cleanliness perspective, but for a group that only needed a place to sleep and shower, it was just fine. The property was gorgeous and tucked away from any hustle and bustle. There were plenty of rooms and places to rest for a group of adults. The kitchen was well appointed for cooking large meals and had a nice coffee station for our early morning crew. We would potentially return at a lower price point.

Cute little escape

This place was so adorable. Clean, easy check in, host was very responsive and easy to work with. The house had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend for some R and R.

Hi, we are Justin and Meghan and welcome to our home. We have spent many weekends in the Columbia River gorge hiking, camping, wine tasting, brewery hopping, mushroom hunting, and it has become the most special place in the world to us. We have been searching for the perfect place since we were married in Parkdale, Oregon in 2015 and were thrilled to find this amazing spot up in the High Prairie of Lyle, Washington. When you look outside you’re staring out at 5 acres, with an entire acre fenced in as that “yard.” We encourage you to walk around the property and enjoy the different vantage points. We are officially in dark sky territory, so don’t forget to look up come sundown.

We love cooking, entertaining friends, and relaxing in the quiet and we have set up this home to do exactly that. We love the idea of people enjoying this special place as much as we do, even when we aren’t here to enjoy it with them! We want your time here to be relaxed and enjoyable, please do not hesitate to reach out with any concerns or things we can help you with during your stay!

A fun fact about where you are staying; this area of the High Prairie was established in 1880 and was referred to as The Highlands (hence the house name). The Highlands were incorporated into Lyle township in 1930. Even today it remains a tiny enclave of the Columbia River Gorge, with only 530 full time residents.

We love the entirety of the Columbia Gorge but Lyle spoke to us as it felt more untouched than some of the other parts. We loved the ability to have Mt. Hood views as well as sweeping vistas of the Columbia Gorge. In addition, 3 wineries within a couple miles, endless hiking nearby, and an easy 30-minute drive to Hood River and White Salmon

この宿泊施設の特徴

I think we have some of the most interesting topography, pine trees, mountain views, the high prairie. We love the peaceful drive up from town, we can take a deep breath and know we are truly getting away from it all. We loved the juxtaposition of the rustic area but with a new house - it was built in 2019 and has all of the modern amenities we were looking for. And the view from the patio can truly not be beat, sunrise and sunset being our most favorite.
