Hi Colene I am sorry that you were disappointed with the resort amenities. I have not updated our listing because the resort policies are continually changing. It started back in March 2020 when the resort shut down completely for a few months and since then has slowly started to re-open. Currently, only 2 of the 4 resort hotels (sections) are open, so the circumstances that currently exist will not be permanent either. However, I am not sure why you say that I didn’t inform you. I let everyone know the current state of the resort on their first contact with me. Even if a renter’s first contact with me is after booking a reservation, I inform them of the circumstances and every renter is free to cancel within the first 24 hours of booking without any charges. The communication we had in which I informed you about the resort circumstances is still in our VRBO communication thread. So I believe this is the best way to handle the current circumstance. It would impossible to keep my listing up to date because of the continual changes. Additionally, the resort doesn’t always inform the owners of their changes, so I often have to inquire to their current situation before I inform our guests. Once again, I am sorry that you were disappointed, we strive to make our guests’ vacations as enjoyable as our own vacations to the area.

I am sorry for the problems you experienced during your stay. Our management team makes every effort to insure everything is working properly before guests check-in. I was told that the batteries needed to be replaced for the water heater starter. I request that they address any issue our guests have right away, so I am glad they corrected the situation with the water heater and beach towels the same day they became aware. Our policy is to provide 2-3 days of shampoo, laundry & dishwasher soap, and other disposable items but after that, it is the responsibility of our guests to purchase needed supplies. However, we keep bathroom and kitchen cleaning supplies under the kitchen sink. There are extra sheets in the black drawer chest located in the main living space including sheets for the pull out sofa. I am sorry about the stained towels, sometimes the stains do not come out after washing, but about every 3 months the towels are examined and those with stains are replaced with new towels. I know accidents happen, sometimes without even knowing it. Our management company sends a report after the departure of each renter. They sent pictures and noted that there was a large stain on the couch which needed to be steam cleaned before the next guest arrive. Just to make sure, I had our management company verify that the couch stain was not caused by the previous renter. Also, the couch was steam cleaned that summer so it was not due for another cleaning for 6 months. I spend around $1,000 - $1,500 per year replacing broken, damaged or stained items (including towels), and very rarely do I deduct from guests' deposit. I collect around $75 - $100 per year from deposits, so I do try very hard not to overcharge and to be fair. As I said, I get a report from our management company so I totally rely on them and there is no incentive for them to report items to me so I believe it is as fair as it can possibly be. However, once again, I am sorry you experienced these problems.

We vacation at TAO 4 - 5 times a year, so we have plenty of experience. We use the TAO bracelets to access the entire Bahia Principe resort. However, you would have to purchase a day pass for dinning and drinks. I have personally gone around the resort to verify all of the amenities that I have listed on our website. Our onsite management checks our condo after each guests checks out and reports any damaged items. We always try to be fair, in all of 2017, we only collected a total $75 from security deposits from all our guests combined, even though we spent about $700 on repairs and replacement of broken items. We appreciate all of our guests, and know that accidents happen. Some items get damaged on accident and sometimes without even realizing the damage has occurred, which is why we only seek to collect a very small fraction of our costs. We have onsite management and maintenance personal there to help if you have any problems. Some of the equipment may work a little different than you are use to at home. I also provide a rental information guide with lots of helpful information. The maintenance man looked at the items listed after Tamera checked out but found all items to be working properly. But if you every have any issues, our onsite management is there to help. Let us know what we can do to make your vacation the best it can be!!!
