Beautiful Country Setting

I have visited this location on 3 separate occasions and every time has been a winner! Located a short distance from historic Newburyport, Plum Island and bucolic Newbury. Michael and Cindy are very helpful with information about local events and destinations. Beautiful country setting with beach cottage accents and reasonable rates. You really can't go wrong with this one!

5 star deluxe

This is the best stay we had in our three weeks in New England on holiday. Great, welcoming owners, a great spot close to the very nice Newburyport. The beach experience close by was superb, because we could use all the beach accessoires from the rental house. The apartment you get is way beyond value for money. It's great, spacious, luxurious and has all the details worked out. We also could you the big back garden which our 2 year old daugther enjoyed a lot. All in all a 5 star experience, but without the 5 star costs!! Thanks Michael and Cindy

Lovely people who were very welcoming even providing us with English teabags, biscuits and juice for the kids on arrival. We only booked two nights here but slept well in very comfortable beds. The basement flat was well equipped with everything you could wish for (even music in the shower) and they had taken care of just about everything. Michael gave us information about local places to eat and the local beaches. Michael and Cindy you are doing a great job and I would not hesitate to stay with you again, next time for longer! You are doing yourselves proud.

Fabulous Family Vacation

Mike and Cindy, you have a beautiful home and yard. Our time spent in your vacation rental was magnificent. Everything was just picture perfect… from the comfortable bedroom to the relaxing bathroom; your home was perfect for our family vacation. You had everything we could ever need while on vacation. We enjoyed our morning coffee in your backyard watching the many birds that love your home as well. Our family appreciated all your “beach items” that we used at Plum Island. We all loved your outstanding New England Cookout, and hanging out by the fire pit was our favorite! Thank you so much for all the information about the local area, it made getting out and seeing the sights so easy. It is also conveniently located to many day trips such as Portland, Portsmouth, Rockport, Gloucester, Salem and Boston. The fishing trip you suggested was a highlight of our trip! Thanks for cooking us those delicious fish too. We look forward to our next visit to Newbury and staying in your home. Thank you again for a wonderful week!

Perfect launch-point for a family vacation

This was our first trip to the Newburyport area, and it will not be our last. The unit was clean, well stocked, and conveniently located. We were able to easily travel to Newburyport, Plum Island, and even to Boston from this rental. We stayed with our two children aged 3 and 2yrs. The owners provided plenty of towels and linens, and even beach toys, chairs, and so much more. It was just a great place to stay and so wonderfully situated. The owners were friendly and helpful but never intrusive. I highly recommend this rental to anyone traveling who is looking for a comfortable place to rest, cook, and regroup after a long day at the area beaches.

Beautiful, individually decorated apartment in a quiet location

In August 2016 I stayed for 10 days guest at Michael and Cindy together with my wife and my sons (15 and 17). The two did receive us very friendly and looked after us wonderfully. They gave us many useful tips for excursions and activities. For days on the beach (highly recommended: Hampton Beach) they provided a huge selection of beach furniture and gear. The apartment was pleasantly cool on the very hot days. The nearby Newburyport is a lively town with a beautiful town center, apparently very popular for sailing and other water sports.

recommendable vacation home

We had a good time staying at Michael and Cindy's house, they are lovely hosts. The place is perfectly well equipped, especially all the beach equipment was perfect for us as we were travelling in from Europe and had only very basic equipment with us. The garden is beautiful and the house well located to explore the beaches and other enjoyable places around. And you are a bit remote from the busy beach areas, which was very relaxing for us.

Wonderful experience

Michael and Cindy are wonderful hosts. Their garage has all you need to go the beach that is minutes away(umbrellas, chairs, blankets, coolers, ice, etc) and it was all ours to use and return. Michael prepared an itinerary for us of his favorite spots as we drove up the Maine coast which was very helpful for after we left them to continue our vacation. They have a great backyard which they made it feel like our own and we ended up sharing a fantastic dinner with them. Their apartment is in the basement and was well supplied for our group of 4 adults. So nice, so accommodating, so personal. We had a great time and would love to visit again.

5 stars service !

We are very lucky to have found this house, Michael and Cindy. Very good service, very clean, very well equipped and very good suggestions and advice for activities to do with our kids. Even when we don't ask, we get some daily suggestions and advice by SMS. In short, 5 stars. Michael was always available to us and the communication was fast and efficient. Michael even saved one of our BBQ dinners and led us to the butchery! Our girls and us loved our trip. And if you are a runner, this is a beautiful place to go for road and trail running. Thanks for everything!

Just like a bed and breakfast!

Mike and Cindy's rental was a nice alternative to a hotel. We knew we would be visiting various locations near Boston and used their house as our base. They greeted us upon arrival to explain where everything was and to show us around. We especially enjoyed the use of the beach equipment. Their rental was great and they couldn't have been nicer! Wonderful alternative to a hotel, and fabulous hosts

Mike and Cindy's place reminded me of bed and breakfasts I've stayed in throughout Europe. The hospitality was outstanding; we so appreciated the frig and freezer stocked with ice and bottled water. Their rental suited our needs perfectly; there's a fabulous butcher shop just a couple minutes from their house, and a huge organic farm that sells fabulous produce so it made it easy to shop for fresh items. The location suited us perfectly - it was "home base" as my mom and I explored the area in which she grew up in the 50s.

Lovely place!

(English version below) Wir haben im Juli 2014 zu zweit eine tolle Woche in Newbury und Umgebung verbracht. Die im Untergeschoss befindliche Ferienwohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht und brauchen könnte, z.B. auch mit einer charmanten VHS-Sammlung. :-) Die Einrichtung, besonders im Schlafzimmer, ist liebevoll und gemütlich und das Bad sehr geräumig. Waschmaschine und Trockner standen auch zur Verfügung. Zum Haus gehört ein wunderschöner, ruhiger Garten mit vielen Sitzgelegenheiten. Den kleinen Pool und Grill durften wir auch mitbenutzen. Die Eigentümer sind sehr sympathisch, unglaublich hilfsbreit und haben gute Tipps auf Lager, z.B. für das Frühstück (Stephanie's Village Pancake House in Rowley!) Man ist mit dem Auto (Parkplatz vor dem Haus) schnell in Newburyport, wo es u.a. eine Menge Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt. Wer frisches Obst und Gemüse vom Bauern möchte, braucht nur 1 Minute mit dem Auto zur Tender Crop Farm fahren. Ansonsten einfach Michael oder Cindy fragen. Kleiner Tipp: Wer empfindliche Ohren bzw. einen leichten Schlaf hat, sollte trotzdem Ohropax einpacken, da man aufgrund der amerikanischen Bauweise (Holz) ein paar Geräusche aus dem oberen Stockwerk hören kann. Danke an Michael und Cindy für alles! We went for a week in July 2014 and spent a wonderful time in Newbury and around. The apartment in the basement offers anything you need or could need, e.g. a charming collection of films on VHS. :-) You can see that a lot of love for detail went into the furnishing. The bathroom is very big and a washing machine and a dryer are available there, too. The beautiful and quiet garden offers plenty of seating and you may even use the little pool or the BBQ. Michael and Cindy are very nice and incredibly helpful landlords and can offer great tips (Go to Stephanie's Village Pancake House in Rowley for breakfast!). Don’t be afraid to ask them. It’s only 5 minutes to Newburyport (for any shopping) and 1 minute to Tender Crop Farm (for fresh produce). Just one suggestion if you are a light sleeper: You might want to use earplugs, since you can hear some noise from upstairs. Thank you, Michael and Cindy, for everything!

Perfect!

We stayed at Michael and Cindy's lovely home for a fairly large family wedding in Newburyport. It was a great decision to choose this very comfortable space. The back yard was great ... nice woods beyond the house ...fire pit! Our regret is that we weren't able to spend more time there ! Beautiful area to be in. Newburyport's "downtown" is a very lovely and beautifully restored historic port...well worth visiting. Michael and Cindy were very gracious hosts with plenty of ideas for adventure or relaxation in the area. We would love to come back!

Like home

We went for a week in the beginning of July. We had such a great experience, and Mickeal and Cindy are very kind persons. They were always there to give us explanation, directions, share all the beach stuff (so we ain't bring them from Montréal). The place is quiet, and full of nature. It was a pleasure to meet them and to use the appartement, they arranged for the Customer. The place is at the middle of every where. We went shop in Maine, we had a great journey in Boston, and most of the time we were at the beach, which you have a lot of choice, dependly, which kind you like. We will return, as soon, as the live gets us in this beautiful part of the country. Thanks Micheal and Cindy :)

Amazing romantic getaway

We could not have asked for a better place and experience. It was like staying in our own little apartment, it is fully equipped with anything and everything you might need. The kitchen had lots of pots and pans, cutlery, plates, etc to cook with. Mike and his wife were amazing hosts. They even gave us access to beach chairs, fishing poles, beach umbrellas, etc. They were also able to recommend some amazing restaurants (Michael's Harborside) and beaches. They have done amazing work with their backyard and nature trail. I highly recommend their rental!

Great location for exploring the North Shore

We stayed for a week at Michael and Cindy's lovely place and recommend it for anyone wanting to explore the North Shore. My husband and young daughter (2 years) were visiting family in the area and we were looking for something near Newburyport with a little more space and "home away from home" feel than your typical hotel room provides and that would be more family-friendly than a lot of B&Bs. The use of the lovely yard was a great draw for us too, as toddlers are an active bunch and we really enjoy grilling. This place was a great find and just what we were looking for. The apartment was clean and Cindy set out lots of toys, puzzles and books to keep our daughter entertained for the time spent inside. There's a washer and dryer too, always a big bonus when traveling. The yard and gardens are quite peaceful and you can really feel at home out there. Michael even started a fire for us in the fire pit and got his guitar out to sing "You are my sunshine" for our daughter (one of her favorites). The location is great for exploring the beaches, farms and orchards in the area and downtown Newburyport has everything you need. We'd definitely recommend a trip to the nearby Tendercrop farm for a nice gourmet picnic and breakfast at Mad Marthas on Plum Island. Choose this location if you're looking for something laid-back, relaxed, family-friendly and with more personality and friendliness than you'll find at a hotel. Have fun.

The best for family vacation!!!

We've stayed 8 nights wiht our 2 kids (2-4 years old). It was the best choice for us. The place are very nice. We have everything we need for the beach. The have a lot of furnitures in the house and the exterior is so wonderful. The location is very good and not far from many activities. Micheal and Cindy, the owners are so exceptionnal. We really enjoy our vacation and we recommended anytime. If we going another time in this area, for sure will contact them for a another stay.

Great for Work and Play

I was working for 4 weeks in Newburyport and my family joined me for a beach vacation for the first two weeks. Michael and Cindy were more than welcoming. The space was comfortable and clean and very functional for a family of four - they even put up bunkbeds for our two sons. The yard was beautiful and included access to grills and a wonderful fire pit. Our hosts shared great suggestions for places to visit and things to do in the greater Newbury area. We particularly enjoyed Tendercrop Farms and tide pooling on Plum Island. After my family left, our hosts took me in as part of their family - even inviting me out for an evening playing trivia and listening to music on the waterfront. We couldn't have asked for more!

fantastic stay!

this rental was as expected and the owner went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable. there are plenty of extras like movies, books, and more movies for evening entertainment. the kitchen had all the basics for meals, and was a pleasure to cook in. when we were getting ready for the beach, the owner was more than helpful in giving us tips, tools, and equipment to make our beach day more fun. the ice freezer is a great touch! and the bathroom--awesome. overall it was a pleasure, great location and very private. i will be back!

Relaxing location

This property was exactly as described. Very comfortable & quiet, despite being very close to all amenities. The owners were very knowledgable and helpful. The kitchen was well equiped, and the owners were nice enough to cook our lobsters/crabs outside for us. Lots of beach accessories available. The gardens were enviable and we enjoyed many evening outside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definately recommend to others. Ideal for two, though we managed well with four occupants.

Charming and comfortable

This is a great place! Everything was new and fresh. The kitchen is modern with all amenities. The bath is spacious with an "open" style shower that is unique and feels like you're showering outside. There's a nice stereo with great sound, a modern, HD T.V. which you can comfortably watch in bed as well as another T.V. to watch videos. Many videos are readily available in the well stocked bookcase. The refrigerator is clean and efficient. The stove is clean and works well. The location is terrific. Minutes away from downtown Newburyport and close to Plum Island. It's just far enough away to give a "country" feel after a day of enjoying the surrounding areas. The grounds are spacious and lush with beautiful shrubs and trees. The owners are always available to help with any questions or requests you may have.

Since 99, I have slowly worked on redesigning the outside property to share my designs with both family and friends alike.

My passion for landscape designs has allowed me to create a multitude of perrenial gardens and ponds, each offering different yet unique settings.
