Idyllically private and centrally accessible to numerous beaches and attractions.Only minutes from Provincetown and the best whale watching on the Cape.Our hosts were very gracious and accommodating.

We really enjoyed our three weeks at Tranquility. Perfect location, well appointed and private. Make sure to take the back way into town and Truro beaches and ponds. Just 2.5 miles to our favorite hidden pond (Higgins) in Wellfleet! No problem finding the place or getting down the driveway. There were two of us with our adult children and spouses with assorted friends friends in and out. It worked well for just the two of us and also lots of people as well. Nice new bathroom and hardwood floors! It was HOT but the many fans did their job! One inprovement might be a picnic table and hammock in the outdoor space, which is beautiful but needs some outdoor furniture and sitting areas. Thank you Cara for a wonderful stay.

4th of July @ the Cape

Great location, host was very responsive to questions that came up. Just a couple things to note: If you are staying in the summer months, and are sensitive to the heat, be aware there is no A/C at this location. Plenty of fans on site though. Some beds were not very comfortable for an adult, as mattress's where somewhat droopy in the middle. Finally, it would have been very helpful if the coffer maker listed in the amenities was more specific ( Keurig ).

Quiet oasis in the woods

Very nice old school beach themed cottage, felt like staying in classic Jersey Shore beach cottages. Most everything you would need is already there. Would gladly stay again!

Old School Cape Cod

This is a vintage Cape summer home, with space for a group. Appreciated the fans when the weather neared 90. Also appreciated the non-vintage large screen TV which was perfect for watching the Olympics!

Quaint cottage stay

The house is tucked away in a wooded area, earning its name Tranquility. It was easy enough to find and a short drive to town and the local beaches and ponds. Overall we had a pleasant stay. The one drawback about the property was that some of the furniture was worn out and a bit dingy. We brought our own sheets and towels which I was grateful I had done as the linens appeared they also could use refreshing.

Wonderful wellfleet woods escape

Everything was super easy with the check in process and communication with the host. Would definitely recommend. Great space, plenty of room for family activities and personal space! In your own private area with no neighbors nearby.

Pros & Cons

Overall, my family had a nice stay at Cara’s property. Cons- It was a bit difficult when we arrived to find the driveway and when got there the house was unlocked, which was a bit unnerving. The door locks are old and require a bit of jiggling and need to be locked a very specific way, so there could be some explanation on that in the welcome packet provided or in the email with the check-in instructions. The house could use a bit of extra cleaning overall (spider webs, bugs, sand), especially since the booking includes a cleaning fee. It would go a long way to install one small air conditioner in the main part of the house. We brought additional fans from home and were still very uncomfortable at the house in the evenings after a long day out in the sun. Pros- The house is conveniently located and the street is quiet. Cara was responsive with all my questions and was a helpful host. The pantry was well-stocked with odds and ends (condiments, dry goods) and it was easy enough to use the linens provided so long as you don’t mind the planning it takes to wash, dry, and put them away before you leave.

Beautiful quiet cottage.

My family and I stay a week at the cottage. It’s located in a quiet street. The cottage was spacious for 7 people, well equipped and has nicely decorated. Cara the owner was fast to answer my questions before we arrived.

Great location, close to Wellfleet center and the beaches. Quiet, cozy house that would genuinely sleep 7, although we had only 5. We would definitely stay here again.

Serene location for family vacation

We found Cara's house to be spacious and comfortable. We appreciated the kitchen stocked with all of the utensils we needed to make meals 'at home'. It was also nice to do laundry on the last day to save us time as we transitioned back into our workweek at home. Cara's house is well situated on the Cape to easily access other towns and beaches. It was also kind of her to send us the necessary documents to obtain a Wellfleet beach pass. We had a wonderful family vacation on the Cape.

Cape in the Woods

Our family of 4 had a good time staying at this property in the woods. We had plenty of space and the kids loved the bunk beds. It was very hot the week we were there, and at least one ac would have been great- the whole house would have cooled down. An older house without any upgrades, but you get what you pay for. The kitchen faucet wasn’t securely attached to the sink, for example. Old but durable furniture, plenty of closet space, and the washer/dryer was a great addition. Some of the beds were more comfortable than others. Located in a great spot in Wellfleet, close to everything. Communication with the homeowner was great.

Tranquil Stay

This is a great getaway for family. The house is located in a quiet, shaded neighborhood and has all the amenities you need. We found we were very close to many beaches and the Cape Cod Rail Trail, as well as Wellfleet Center. We enjoyed our home base for relaxing, family meals, napping, and family games. Hard to leave!

Kicking off the summer on the Cape

Stayed for a week in late June with two adults, two children, and a senior. The house is roomy and comfortable. There are lots of amenities onsite including sheets and towels and a washer/dryer in the basement. Had some confusion about getting beach stickers from the Town of Wellfleet but the host was very helpful about sorting through the town's new registration process. The waste transfer station process is also a bit confusing. The house is located deep in the woods along narrow, windy, roads, which is lovely. But be warned that if you plan on biking that it's not the easiest place to start out from. The insects (mosquitoes and black flies) were also unusually thick, so be prepared. All in all it was a lovely experience in a location close to great beaches and lots of fun Cape activities.

Comfortable Cape House Stay

Very close to beaches and easy drive to P town which is convenient for any Cape stay! Plenty of seating area in living room and host was very responsive and helpful with resources. Only con was floor was dirty when we arrived but everything else was clean. Would recommend for a family stay or "girls" weekend.

Great find

The neighborhood has no WiFi so you cannot connect with anyone until you reach the house. The house was much more spacious than the pictures suggest and it was a lovely home. The driveway is uneasy for smaller cars.

Great place to stay in Wellfleet

We had a lovely stay at this house in Wellfleet. And it was a pleasure dealing with the owner when we had questions. The house is in a great location in terms of getting to beaches and going into the town. It’s in the woods though so there are lots of mosquitoes. All in all, we had a great vacation.

Grew up in upstate New York, we would vacation to the Cape every summer and various times during the year. My older sister and I have recently taken over managing the property since our parents passing and share the goal of keeping the home in our families by being able to pass it down to our children. There isn't a childhood memory that doesn't have a trip to the Cape in it, we would travel with extended family and sleep 5 cousins to a room! The house may be small (to today's standards) but it is mighty and sure to provide all the necessities for a quiet, low key, relaxing Cape vacation.

Our Grandparent's built this home in 1970 after vacationing for many years all over the Cape. They decided on this area for its seclusion and yet closeness to Wellfleet Town Center and a number of bay, ocean and pond beaches. This is our home away from home and has and will always hold a very special place in our hearts.
