I stayed here several years ago. I was pleased with all of the upgrades in appliances, smart TV and WIFI (although spotty at times). I would definitely recommend. The beauty of the lake and quiet (at least while I was there) made it perfect!

It was conveniently located and on a beautiful, quiet lake. A nice private setting. The living quarters were clean and kitchen well stocked! Couldn't ask for a nicer place!

Great place!

Family of four, two kids 12 & 14. Had a great time. Tons of places to sleep so could even have a bigger group there. Lake is beautiful. Row boat and kayaks to use to fish with. The house is nice will a lot of amenities. Lots of wildlife in the area. Would definitely rent from again!

Great stay, fun lake

We stayed at this property over the July 4th weekend and had a great time. The house is exactly as advertised. Very comfortable and clean. Christine is a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. The lake does indeed have a sandy bottom that is shallow, comfortable and perfect for playing in the water. There is plenty of pan fish to keep you busy right from the dock. We used the rowboat which was perfect for Bass lake. My wife used the kayak each morning and loved her quiet morning outings. In all, we would stay again.

End of the summer honeymoon

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon, it was the perfect place. The property was very private and we loved all the trees. It was fun to be so close to the lake. We went out on the water everyday, though we rented some kayaks from a place in-town. Eagle River is a short 10 minute drive away. The cottage was adorable and perfect for us. It was clean, neat, and the furniture was cool. We liked watching movies in the evenings with the blue ray player. Make sure to bring your own pillows and hangers (if you need them). We would definitely stay here again if we come back to Eagle River!

Thank you for your positive response, we certainly appreciate the positive feedback. We love the cabin too. Hangers have been replenished and we do not provide pillows to the renters. Rules and Regulations require pillows to have plastic or vinyl covers on them and it is not comfortable to sleep on a plastic or vinyl covered pillow so we do not provide them (Renters were taking them off). Very Nice Getaway

Very nicely updated and clean cabin with living space on the second floor and plenty of room for kids in the lower finished "Garatage". The large private lake is clean and quiet with minimal boat traffic and good fishing. We caught over 80 panfish, crappie, large and small mouth bass and juvenile Northerns in 4 days. The big ones must be there too! The only reason I gave 3 stars for location was the lack of wifi in the cabin and poor cell service, with no 4G or 5G. Along with the astonishing proliferation of delusional Trump, Trump Won and Fraudulent Election signs in the area, tells you all you need to know about many of the "Locals".

Thank you for your positive review, you are so correct about the wonderful fishing on our crystal clear lake, the hard sand frontage is a gem and so perfect for the kids to romp around in the water. We have very good cell service with both Verizon and AT&T, the other carriers can be a little spotty at times but a 6 minute drive into town solves all those issues. Eagles, Loons and clear water!

The "garatage" is an ideal combination of comfy cabin sitting on the second floor of a large garage. The lower level has been converted into a large recreation/storage room. There is one bedroom in the main cabin area plus 2 futons in the large living room. The downstairs has 2 additional single beds as well as an extra 1/2 bathroom, laundry, a fireplace and foosball table. The kayaks, life jackets, and paddles are stored downstairs also. The cabin upstairs is clean, nicely furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes and cooking supplies. Everything is in good condition and well maintained. The lake is a short walk down a hill, very easy hike. The lake bottom is sandy; the lake is shallow and a tall person can walk to the raft (shared with next door cabin.) The dock is long and has a boat lift if needed. We spent a lot of time on the dock watching eagles and loons. We brought our bikes and enjoyed riding around the beautiful Eagle River area. We would absolutely return to this home!

We love this spot for our young family members because of the crystal clear, hard sand frontage with a gradual slope to the water. My parents are able to shuffle down to the lake which was a main reason for purchasing this Little Piece of Heaven.

The place was great! Lots of advantages. A wonderful pier, beautiful spot on the lake, Kayaks,etc.

I really enjoyed my stay. It should be more apparent that there is a fairly steep decent to the lake. Also, the main housing/kitchen and shower are all up a long flight of stairs. It was fine for me, but if someone has mobility issues, it would be very difficult. I would recommend staying there, but would like people to know thoses things up front.

Thank you for your 5 star review, we are happy that you enjoyed your stay and your recommendation for our Little Slice of Heaven. Our land is considered a moderate slope to the lake, we have 5 stone stairs closer to the lake where there is a slight gradient difference. There are stairs from the garage level to the main living area which is exactly why there is a half bath on the first level. Please see photos.

Just amazing

The property was more beautiful than could be imagined. The shady little area right by the dock is enchanting. Sand, pine needles, moss, chipmunks eating our peanuts, eagles soaring overhead -- heaven! We figured out what the fish were biting pretty early and had great success catching several species either by wading out past the dock, or taking out the rowboat. That's all we could have dreamed of! The lake itself, the fishing, and the property were all better than expected. And the cabin was so nice and comfortable and functional, just all around we didn't really have to leave and never felt a need to explore other lakes, etc. Perfect for a couples quiet getaway! Our only unmet preference, if you will, was the neighboring property being rented out by a big family 4 of the 5 days we were there. So that did impede a bit on our intended quiet get-away from people since their dock and driveway were close and visible, but we were able to enjoy ourselves plenty regardless and would absolutely stay again. Tip: Put the keys in the lockbox right after you let yourself in! We didn't realize the upstairs doors open from the inside while still locked, and ended up locking ourselves out, and learned there was no handy spare set of keys. But Chris the owner was very helpful and responsive throughout and we were able to fix the situation pretty quickly. Sorry to bother but thanks again, Chris! Rookie mistake! All around, highly recommend, whether for a couples getaway or if bringing more friends or family to stay in the additional spaces. We can't speak to local attractions, etc, because, well there was no need to leave the property. 😊

Relaxing get-a-way in the Northwoods

As a family of four, we really enjoyed our stay at the Garatage! We did not sleep downstairs in the garage portion of the cabin, but it was very convenient for storage of outdoor equipment, shoes, etc. The upstairs was perfect for our family of four. The large windows, ceiling fans, closet space, hooks, and nice furniture were all great features. We enjoyed the beautiful lake with limited boat traffic and private pier. Our kids enjoyed swimming and fishing. We were lucky to see numerous eagles, loons, and deer too! Thanks for sharing this nice cabin on a quiet lake in a great location!

Bass Lake quiet getaway

Great spot with a unique home as it is above a garage. Quiet and remote, perfect for a little R&R. The lake has crystal clear water with pretty good fishing. Some of the amenities and descriptions were a little misleading. There are no queen beds. The only true bedroom has a double bed, not a queen. The rest are all futons, twin bunks, and a sofa bed. The owner requests bringing your own linens and towels due to Covid concerns. That was not a problem, except for the sheets we brought were too large. A minor issue and we made due, however, accurate descriptions would be helpful for the next guest. We would probably book it again.

Thank you for your review, we love our lake and our cabin. The bed in the bedroom is in fact an 80" x 60" queen bed with a queen mattress. The comment above is inaccurate - the renter had king sheets which are indeed too large for a queen mattress. The descriptions and photos of our cabin are accurate.

Awesome stay

The cottage is very clean and located on a quiet lake. The sandy bottom offers plenty of opportunities to play all kinds of sports, and the sunset was Great. The owner Chris was very responsive and answered all my questions thoroughly and quickly. We will look for opportunities to come back!

Nice Stay

We had a very relaxing stay. The place was very clean. The upstairs is comfortable and nicely done. 1 bedroom, 1 full bath a kitchen and a nice great room. The downstairs worked just fine for two teenagers and could handle easily 4-6 people. A couple kayaks the kids enjoyed and games, books, etc. Amazing sunsets from the porch or the dock. Nice new dock and a swimming raft (would be great to get rid of the old dock). Had fun catching little bluegills right from the dock but also caught a 6lb bass and a small northern there. Natural shoreline but perfect sand bottom with gentle slope out. Sand out to about 5 feet depth which is 10 feet off the dock. Very convenient into Eagle River.

Perfect gateaway

We truly enjoyed our stay at the lake house. The area was just so peaceful and relaxing. We loved fishing right off of the pier, kayaking and taking long walks along Bass Lake Road. Lots of fish in the lake. Nice clear lake for swimming and kayaking. The house had everything we needed for our family of four. Highly recommend.

garage house on Bass Lake

when you rent this house you need to know not for anyone who cant do stairs!! Lots of stairs to get to living area which is on top of a garage. nice living area up there but small. If you have more than 4 people which would take up all sleeping up stairs in house rest would sleep in lower level which is a garage big garage door and all! lots of Spiders and bugs in garage. not at all what we thought it would be! has air window unit upstairs no air or heat in garage just a small electric fire place. great for small family that could all stay upstairs!

Thank you for your positive rating. This renters review portion about the living area is not accurate. We have a Queen Bed(80in X 60in) in the bedroom, a pull out sofa and a fold out futon in the great room ( sleeps 6 in the main living area). We have folding partitions for the sleeper sofa area in the great room where you my section off the space for privacy. I am so sorry that you found spiders and bugs, this is the north woods, you will see spiders and bugs in the house if you leave the exterior lights on and open the garage doors but the best thing is that we have brooms, dusters, vacuum and shop vac available in the home so it is very easy to vacuum them up, you won't even have to touch them. Most reviews state that our home is very clean, we take pride in our Little Slice of Heaven and it's cleanliness. Please see the photos. Making family memories on Bass Lake

My stay on Bass Lake was an excellent experience. The home we stayed in was so clean and had all the amenities that we needed for a 4 person family. The owners were so accommodating and answered all of my questions immediately. Bass Lake was crystal clear and was so quiet. My boys loved jumping off the pier and swimming to the floating platform. This was a fantastic property and would stay there again. The town of Eagle river was about 10 mins away and had plenty of Family activities And restaurants. I didn’t have one bad meal while we were there. Craig thank you so much for the opportunity to make life long memories in your beautiful home.

Family vacay to the Lake!

Overall stay was great and enjoyable. We spent much of our time fishing off the dock, using the kayaks that where provided and swimming!!

Fun Getaway!!!

Too many good things to share. First, Chris (owner) is INCREDIBLY responsive to any/all questions we had. The place was incredibly clean (top-notch). The water was crystal clear, and swimming is a must. We spent our entire 4 days on the property (never left once), and found that by 9pm every night the days had flown past. One note - If the idea of a garage on the first level is a turn-off...don't let it be! You are essentially staying in a second floor cabin (my wife said it was like staying in a luxury tree-house!), and then you can spend the entire day playing in the huge open garage. Also, if you are into fishing, this is your place. I asked a few other boaters for advice, and found myself land many large mouth bass, and in 3 hours of northern fishing, found 3 HUGE ones, and 1 medium size. Also, Pan fish are plentiful. Thanks Chris - It was excellent

Absolute Paradise!!

Our family of 5 had an absolutely amazing stay. Between the non stop fish catching, swimming, snorkeling and kayaking it was nothing short of amazing. We will definitely be back!!

Hello, we bought our first home in Eagle River in 2000. We loved everything about it. Our friends all asked if they could rent our place and the rest is history. We fix up our cabins and decorate them to enhance our renter's stay.

We chose this property because we have been coming up to this area all our lives. We have family in the area and we love Bass Lake. It is just so peaceful here. Our cabin is a place where we can leave all our troubles and busy everyday lives to just escape. Always a happy place for us.

The sandy beach area is the real draw here, especially when we have the little ones up with us. They romp around for endless hours, it is difficult to get them to come in for lunch. They're so cute!
