I was unaware that there was any issues. When I reached out to Michele on Saturday July 25 at 6pm I said I just wanted to make sure everything was ok and her response was : Hello. Everything is fine. Thank you It’s hard to fix a situation I was unaware of. Then when I reached out again this was the response after the fact. Hi. My family and I enjoyed your beach home, thank you. I’m not sure if you are aware but there was an issue with ants in the living room. My response was I was unaware and will address same

This renter was amazing. She was very commutative and courteous. She left things better than when she got there. Even my neighbors complemented her friendly demeanor. Would love to have you back !

I am appalled that someone could treat my property this way and then not even take responsibility for it. It makes me sad as I would never show such a lack of respect. They booked for 2 people but per my neighbor there were van full of people who arrived who were not authorized to be there. I purchased brand new rugs when I was down the last week of July. When I arrived the Friday after this guest left the rugs were completely missing. I’m not sure how dirty the rugs got 3 weeks old. When I arrived they had broken my blinds and then taped up plastic garbage bags to block the sun with painters tape from my closet I guess the blinds plus the curtains weren’t enough to keep the sun out for them. Clearly if it was “like that” when they arrived they would have called to complain which they did not. I did not hear from them until I reached out about the broken property. The ants would be from the deplorable way in which they left my property. The damage was confirmed by both my cleaning lady and my neighbor. I think it’s sad that not only did they not fix it or call me to tell me about it but actually became angry when I had to withhold a small amount of the security deposit to fix the damage they caused. I am extremely saddened for this unfortunate experience at the end of such a wonderful rental season for which I was booked solid. My advice going forward was for these renter to please treat my property as they would their own especially since everything on the first floor was completely remodeled last year.

This is a very unfortunate situation however, it is a case of not reading the material and not being prepared. I provided information as to location, directions, notes and how to access the property to Mr. Jamison several months ago. He was to rent the property starting on the 13th. He called me mid week to advise that he did not know how to get into the property. I asked to read the directions that were sent to him and then to call me with any questions. he then called again to state that he did not know how to get into the property- I asked a second time and he stated no that he did not read the directions. I advised him how to get into the property and to PLEASE read what was sent to him. I then received a phone call from him at 10pm on the Thursday night that he was to be staying there. He called to say that other people who were already down there - called him the day before and stated that there were not any sheets or towels in the property. I stated that this is correct, there are to bring their own sheet & towels and they are not included as part of the amenities. He stated he did not see that anywhere & I stated that it was on VRBO - then I sent him a screen shot of same. He then called again to say that they did not book through VRBO but through Home away and that it was not listed on there. He wanted to know places where they could purchase same which I provided as well as the bed sizes. I then called VRBO the next day- they indicated that exactly what was on VRBO was reflected on Home Away. I also thought that the circumstances of the situation were odd. they did state that he has rented before. He then sent me another series of text messages stating it was ridiculous that there were not any sheets & towels. I responded that unless he stated at a hotel this was standard for the area . He then left and my next renter arrived. In the check list that he was given ahead of time, he was to empty the refrigerator & the garbage prior to exiting the premises. My next renter sent photos showing that there was alcohol & pizza boxes left in same and the garbage cans were over flowing & there were items broken. He sent photos of all and were upset by the situation. He then sent an e-mail to me requesting that he be reimbursed for the $60 that they spent on the sheets. I advised that although this was an unfortunate situation, he failed to read & follow directions and then attached the photos for his review.
