Nice Apartment, Great Neighborhood But a Troublesome Building
Just returned from a week long vacation in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Communications with the host, Emilio, were prompt and very professional. The AC units were in great working order, the tile on the floor was beautiful and the beds were comfortable to sleep in. The rest of the unit was a bit Spartan - functional but minimal. A few elements gave the impression that the unit was not *quite* 100% ready - such as an unfinished closet in one of the bedrooms. As for the unit itself, it was fine - just difficult to "hang out" due to the small living room but more than good enough with generous use of beach chairs, towels, a parking spot and even tennis racquets included.The location was absolutely perfect - within easy walking distance of AMAZING restaurants, stores and casinos. We also booked a number of tours/guided activities which had very close pickup locations to the address. No more than 15 minutes drive to Old San Juan as well.But as other reviewers have commented, the building needs some serious work. The back of the building is a honeycomb of ongoing maintenance projects and construction efforts. The workers are careful not to start too early, but every morning by 9am, we heard the power tools crank up. The pool facility itself was under repair as well. In summary, a perfectly fine unit, accurately described ; in a great location, housed in a larger building undergoing some serious renovation efforts. Working with Emilio was a pleasure as well.
